Great experience as this nail salon first and foremost is clean, the staff is nice and the work done on my nails is consistently good as well as reasonably priced. It is roomy and doesn't smell of chemicals the spa seats for the pedicures are luxurious and work perfectly. They are helpful and assist with carrying your stuff when done to the chairs for manicures. This is a diamond in the rough as it is hard to find all of these features and still get a great price. After receiving a giftcard for this salon I decided to go in last weekend. I am not one to write bad reviews but if I hadn't received a giftcard I would be demanding at least half of my money back. After not even one week of receiving my gel manicure every single gel nail lifted to the point I had to peel off. In fact it peeled off so well that I did not even have to soak or file it off. That's how I knew it was a poor manicure. The normal salon I go to will last two weeks - sometimes even 3. People get gel manicures because they want them to last. A regular manicure would've lasted longer than this. I even had to deal with appointment issues from the jump. They scheduled me for Friday rather than Saturday so I had to fix that and they said "Okay Saturday at 9 with Sonia" When I came in they couldn't find me in the system and they put another woman with Sonia. I came here about a year and a half ago and I've never found a place that made me happier with my nails. I've always had trouble in nail salons because I'm very particular with the way I want my nails. I always had gel and acrylic and Sonya (the owner) helped me switch to natural nails and strengthen my nails by doing SNS. Now, I don't do anything but SNS and my nails are stronger than ever. I made the mistake of going somewhere else last week to do SNS, because I was in a rush and went to the nearest nail salon to my job. This horrible experience made me seriously appreciate my experiences with Sonya and Min at Jersey Nails. I ran into this place about a year ago. I've moved away from this place and don't work anywhere near it but I still continue coming here! I love this place, it's so clean, roomy and the staff is very welcoming. A couple of things that are super important to me is: variety in colors, ability to do gel, acrylic and sns, gel pedicures, and ability to experiment and work with me with different designs and ideas. This place has it all, the nails are super great looking, I've ran into places where they make my nails look like pistachio shells and here people know what they are doing. Their owner is fantastic and very friendly, and the rest of the staff as well, I always get my services from Sonia, Nelly and Sam. But everybody else there is also super knowledgeable and friendly. First I want to say I've been going to Jersey Nails for over 1.5 Years and I've recommended countless people to them. I haven't been in a few months because Min who usually does my nails told me one price and when Sonia goes to charge she is telling me something else. When my turn came Sonia told me she can't do my nails because they're too long and she wants her husband to do it tomorrow. She has a bridal party for 10 ppl at 5pm and my nails will take tooo long. I understood and told her I'll come back the next day. Long story short, the disappointing part was when min started doing my nails he told me that Sonia told him I didn't want to soak my nails off with li. I told him that she started doing my nails without even talking to me... He Proceed to tell me that I'm lying and he knows LI she will never do that! This was my first time here & i am so impressed! This place is a gem. Everyone here is so nice and the place is so clean. The pedicure stations have great massage chairs & the pedicure itself was meticulous. I had two women, one for my pedicure and one for my full set, and they were both very attentive to my nails and my requests. They made sure to ask if everything was up to par before moving on. Made an appt a week prior with a girl my friend recommended. They confirmed on the phone that I would have that girl. Arrive the day of to find out they did not schedule me with her and she was booked with someone else. The gentleman I was scheduled with for 9am was already doing someone else's pedicure, even though I was the first appt of the day and there a few min early. Someone else started my nails, I was there for SNS with extensions, and then the person whom my appt was with finished it. My SNS is way to thick, bumpy, not a smooth surface at all. I am so upset!! I've been going here for over a year and was excited to find a place that did good work and was close to my house. I am always on time, I'm polite, I tip well, and I've referred my friends as well. The way I was treated when I first started coming and now is completely different. Minh runs the shop and used to make me feel like he appreciated my business, but now he's just mean to me. He doesn't say hello to me when I walk in, he makes me wait without apologizing, he gets easily annoyed with me, and one time he let me sit at his chair when I had an appointment while he painted a nail display for about 10 minutes-without even saying, 'I'm sorry, I'll be right with you''. My last visit was so AWFUL and because of it I will not go back; he got up in the middle of my appointment without saying one word to me to repair somebody's nail. While he was with the client, I asked the receptionist to bring over the display of nails again so I could be 100% sure of the color I picked since I had to wait for him anyway. I ended up picking a different shade of red and told him when he got back (he had not started painting my nails or even got the other bottle yet). This is when he started lecturing me like a child- ''You pick your color when you get here that's why I leave the colors here for you to look at! you pick color first -not be on your phone!''. I was in absolute shock!!! I wanted to cry (I was already having a very bad morning). I was afraid to say anything because my nails still needed a lot done to them and I couldn't afford to walk out with them looking that way. I notice the salon respond to their yelp reviews a lot to argue the customer's account of what happened-I promise you, what I've described is REALLY what happened and I genuinely have been a good customer. It is wrong how I've been treated. One time i completely forgot about an appointment, maybe they're holding that against me???? I go once a month for a gel fill in and every couple months for pedicures, when I do the math and factor in tip, I am giving this place approximately $750 dollars of my business a year. Not to mention my friends that have gone because I told them to. I can't keep giving my business and money to a place that does not appreciate it...and makes me feel like crap! I really hope the owner contacts me to correct this because I got SNS less than 10 days ago and today when I was opening a water bottle one of the nails completely came off ( I attached 2 photos ) taking some of my natural nail with it. I have asked to have the SNS made thinner to which the owner replied that because it's my first time they need to be thicker and that maybe next time they can make them thinner. I believe that might have been the reason for why my nail came off and also why almost all the other nails started lifting on the sides after a few days. The salon is nice and clean with lots of color options so I would normally go back but the whole point of SNS is so that it lasts! Very dissapointed. Update- went back today with my friend for a girls day. I had a gel mani and a pedi and she had sns. Pedicure was totally fine except barely any massage. Gel mani by the manager was really awful. I had to wait over 30 minutes after my pedi to even get the mani even though we had an appointment ( their time management sucks) so I was sitting there as my friend was finishing up. When I finally got my mani it was so quick ( possibly because they were rushing as they overbooked), she didn't even remember to put lotion on my right hand and the manicure looks a week old as my cuticles were pushed back at all. Want to get ripped off? Add some attitude and rudeness to that and you have Jersey nail spa in totowa! I've been a soft spoken go with the flow loyal customer for over 3 years. I've seen one person- "Minh" who is the owner. For over three years, I put up with his attitude, rudeness and god complex, all to have SNS dip powder, which isn't widely done in nail salons in the area. My typical manicure isn't complicated, usually only 1-2 colors but this time, on a whim, I decided to get one different color for each nail to be a little different. No designs, no glitter, no gradient, no extra product, nothing special- just alternating colors. My mother finished her nails before me and kindly paid for both of us, but when my nails were done, Minh tried to re-charge me an extra $5 for "different colors." Keep this in mind... Pre-covid, the SNS dip powder was $35. After covid, it went up in price $5. Okay fine. Then I'm charged an extra $5 for what they call "long nails and shaping" (no long stiletto nails over here) but even that... FINE! And NOW I'm being charged another secret $5 for a having different colors!?? They went from $35 to $50 for simple powder!? At the time of my manicure, I said "you didn't notify me of a price change prior to starting my nails"... and Minh got attitude with me, saying "I did a lot of work so it's more money." Mind you, there was no "extra" work done- my fingers were just dipped into different colors. After this experience, I wasn't going to go back, but I was in a rush this afternoon and needed a quick manicure and didn't care who I saw. Sonja (his wife and co-owner) answered the phone and proceeded to tell me that they refuse to do my nails ever again because I QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE EXTRA $5! This grown adult continued to YELL at me, using her inequivalent analogy of ordering a pizza" you don't get extra toppings for free." I was blown away by such outright disrespect for their customers. If I was notified of the up charge prior to having my nails done, I gladly would've paid it, or simply chosen one color. But no- I was expected to pay into this "secret price list" upon completion. I asked Sonja if after 3 years of having NO issues and being a dedicated customer, if she wanted to lose me and my 3-4 other friends who have consistently gone? She said "yes, I will lose you all!!" She then proceeded to HANG UP ON ME! I still cannot believe this all happened. These owners are extremely pompous people who believe they are god's gift to this world. So no, I will NOT be returning to Jersey nail spa. I will truly miss Minh's attitude, short temper, and aggressive pulling of my arms during my manicure, and ultimately their ever skyrocketing secret prices. read more

Paid 45$ for acrylic tips and they came out SO BAD. The lady who did them was so sweet, which makes me feel bad for writing this review. But my nails looked like a 12 year old did them. You could see the streaks of the polish. My cuticles were not taken care of. The salon is so cute and clean which attracted me to the salon but the work was disappointing. Only have been here one time and won't be returning. I went to a acrylic fill-in appointment made through Yelp with Tracy. They were pretty grown out but she tried her best to save them. In doing so, she shaved down my nails down to almost nothing. It burned so badly when using the UV light that each time one nail needed to be dried, I had to remove my hands in pain. In all my years of tending to acrylic nails, that's never happened. I had to grow out my nails completely and it was extremely upsetting and painful couple of months. Never again. Great customer service, color choice, nail shaping, pricing and clean BUT Went for a gel mani and regular pedi before vacation on a Saturday morning. Called ahead and they took my right away. The pedicure was good. BUT here's were it gets good. BEWARE of the lady who sits 2 stations down from the man she's super unqualified. I had an Essie super stay top coat on and she tried to tap it with nail polish remover. I said "just use some pressure it will come right off" she ignored me and electrically filed it off (destroying my nails). Then she killed 4 of my cuticles. Went home and not 8 hours later my whole pinkie nail GEL polish came right off. I drove right back (at 6:15 they close at 6) and they took me right in and the man repainted over my manicure. I was content. Next day I'm traveling for 12 hours get to my hotel and pop goes my thumb nail. IM FURIOUS. Couple days later my ring nail pops right off. Semi understandable since I was playing in the sand but still it was gel. The day I get home ( the following Saturday since I got my nails done) I go back and they change my color for me with no problem and no charge. Came here last minute after work because I broke a couple of my nails and couldn't stand to them in bad shape. The staff here is very nice. Despite being so busy they were able to accomodate me, I barely even had to wait! I tried the dip powder gel nails. I've only gotten it once in my life prior to this experience and I wasn't thrilled with the results the first time (FYI: The first time I got it done, it wasn't from here). Desperate to fix my sad looking nails, my nail tech suggested I give it a shot again. As she was doing my nails, I was not liking how the process was going and how my nails were looking. I even stopped her a few times to remind her what I wanted and kept on asking questions about the process. All I could say is trust your nail tech! She knew what she was doing and by the end of it, my nails came out alright. The only thing I wasn't the biggest fan of was the shape of my nails. I find that the shape of my nails look wide/stubby. I prefer to have my nails more elongated looking. I also wasn't a fan of how she removed my gel filled nails in the beginning. She used a fake nail to wedge in between my natural nail and the coating and was popping off the gel fill. That method was painful and I feel like it would've been better to just file it away.
