She is very knowledgeable and I had many questions regarding what was best for my nails being that mine are relatively weak and tend to break. If you don't want to pay for street parking, go into one of the small side streets and usually there's a spot. I have enjoyed my experience every time I come here. They throw in a little shoulder/upper arm massage after the mani, which feels so good! I recommend the gel manicure as I think it's 100% worth the cost. I've never had a go to nail salon before I found union nails. I drive 20 minutes just to go here because of how professional, clean, friendly and how GOOD they are! They're super clean with Covid and I love that I can message the owner for an appointment and she answers within an hour. It makes it very easy to work out a time and comply with social distancing to make it easier for everyone. The pedicure is amazing. You have a choice of 5 different types (coco honey, lavender, green tea etc). The girls are generous with the massage and really take their time on your toes. I always feel so pampered and have the most beautiful toes and skin afterwards. I usually get gel manicure now. I've come in with pictures of designs I want to try and they always come out so beautiful I'm always so impressed . After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I just moved to jersey and desperately needed a new spot. I liked the nails at first. One nail was a lil uneven but not worth complaining. I liked the service. They were helpful and pleasant. The pedicure was amazing. The massage after was sooooo soothing. It was also nice and quiet and peaceful. It was relaxing. They were all Hispanic which was a nice change. A few days later, the skin around my nails began to peel. Then on day 3, my thumb nail broke. The peeling got worse and worse. I got a dip mani and regular pedi and had a great time! Grace did my mani and she did a really nice job with the shaping and it came out so neat and pretty. I was surprised that they don't use a UV light to cure the top coat on the dip because that's what is done at every other salon I've been to, but the nails dried perfectly fine with the little fan so no harm, no foul! The pedicure was so nice - it's like a spa pedicure, even though I just got regular! Both Grace and Maria (who did my pedicure) gave me a massage while my nails were drying (once after my mani, once after my pedicure) and it was such a nice touch. The place itself is small but good. They don't have a huge color selection, especially for dip, so keep that in mind. But, I found a color I like. Overall I think this is a good little spot with decent prices and very kind and skilled staff! Side note - their A/C wasn't working while I was there so it was so hot/humid inside; not docking a star for it because I know it isn't their fault. read more

I have been going here for over 7 years. My last time was Friday. The ladies are very nice. They are accommodating. The place is clean. You have to pay for street parking so bring Quarters. There are girls that speak Spanish (mostly doing pedi) and most of the technicians speak basic English. This time they tried to up-sale a service. I politely said: "Thanks not this time" and Lee (who was doing my nails) was nice but not detailed. I had to ask for several things: please cut here, please give me another glitter coat because it is not even, please give me another color coat because it is not well covered and there are patches... She said my nails were not even that is why the color was not even but with the up-sale service that would be covered. I have been using gel for years and it is the first time someone tells me that. So I knew she wanted to sale... Not nice to downgrade a service to up-sale another... As I was there, a young lady came in requesting her nails to be fixed because the gel was coming off and Lee had been the technician, also. The comment she young lady made was that maybe the color was old. I noticed my color was not of a gel texture but was watered down so... Although I love this place, I think the quality has gone down and I am not sure I will continue to service here. The previous time I went there Hana serviced my nails and I liked her job, but she was not available this time. Clara, on the other hand, did an excellent pedi, but the color is not good (watered down) and it gave a silly texture to my nails. Your nails look gorgeous when you leave but won't even last you a few days. I gave them a few try's and each time my nail broke. I went to another really good nail salon and he asked me "who the hell did your nails, they're too lazy to take the full coat off and it ends up splitting causing your nail to break" Currently 3 weeks later and my nail has not broke from the other nail salon. Sarah was working on another customer so they made another employee take care of my family member After I had my pedicure, Sarah wasn't available. They said she was doing a facial. Update COVID-19- I visited the salon today. I'm so impressed with the extra safety measures they are taking bc of corona virus. As I entered they checked my temperature and had me wash my hands. Sarah and team are constantly lysoling and cleaning everything and I mean EVERYTHING. They have plexiglass all over- I feel so comfortable going here during coronavirus. Everything is constantly being cleaned and the manicure pedicure stations are far apart. Thank you Sarah and team! Loveeeeeee this salon! I had just moved to the area and went to so many different nail salons before finding union - and now I'm obsessed. The first time they were all in black. This time they were all in the same blue and gray ones. - I get a UV Gel fill each time. This is literally the first place I have ever gotten an actual manicure with a fill. They do the whole pushing my cuticles and cutting it off rather than just using the filing machine to rip them off and it's way less scary since I'm not worried she is going to slice my cuticle open.
