I went to see Sara at Union Nails and she was extremely polite, ensured that I was happy, and communicated with me the entire process to make sure I was in the loop and pleased with my nails. It's been a long time since I've gotten my nails done and the quality of work and customer service Sara provided is well worth every penny! I love the clean lines, her ability to free hand a french style to perfection, and she's thorough and meticulous. She is truly talented! Please be mindful that a lot of these businesses are still recovering from being out of work throughout a lot of the pandemic, so their prices may have changed (but again quality and service are spectacular) and are still not able to retrieve max capacity of appointment as they are by appointment only. I've been here twice so far since moving to this area. I saw they had good reviews so I called to make an appointment for a gel manicure. It was great. They take your temp upon arrival and they ask you to wash your hands. I felt like everything was sanitary and the salon is beautiful and kept clean. I only write on here if it's really good or obnoxiously bad. Union Nails is definitely on the good/great side of things. Yes, they are more expensive than other nail salons, and it's really hard to get an appointment because they are always booked, but for good reason. People will pay for top notch service. Before Union Nails, I'd go to the one in Clifton, in that plaza with Tommy's Tavern off route 3 west. Despite their $8 off (for $100+ service cash) promo, I'd always have to come back a couple of times to get my nails fixed. It got so annoying that I started looking for another nail salon and to remind myself -- cheap is expensive. Thankfully, I found Union Nails. Sara is hands down the best gel applicator/shaper master out there. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work. If you can't get Sarah, definitely book with Reyna. She did my mani and pedi yesterday. My mani/pedi both turned out great and have been very happy them since. I've received a half dozen compliments on my mani already. Came to this place twice and twice I got amazing customer service, and with my nails looking amazing! I would highly recommend this place! The first time I came here I was in a rush. I had to board the plane to Ireland in 5 hours! And it just so happened that one of my acrylic nails (done in a different salon, not this one) broke and I was going crazy trying to figure out where to go to get my nails done. I searched on Yelp to find nail salons near me and at the time I was in Clifton Commons, so I found this place. I gave it a try and crossed my fingers. All I can say is that I'm grateful for Mia being quick and attending me even though she was packed with appointments. I felt so bad because I came in last minute and in such a hurry, but her and Marian were so nice and attended me quickly. Very professional and very good work with my nails, considering I decided to remove the acrylics and do regular manicure. As for the second time, I made an appointment this time and they were the same as ever! Professional and nice and I felt very comfortable. They address your exact needs for your nails and they help you with placing your things to the side or what not. So they're also very considerate. Seriously, go here. They won't disappoint you, and this salon is now on my list of favorite places to go. Just moved to the area and was overwhelmed by how many nail salons were in the area. This place had good reviews so I thought I'd try it first. It's spacious, clean and staff is friendly. Nothing felt rushed which was the best part. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5 (really I wish there was a 4.5 option), was because: 1. Parking is not easy to get on Union, I was almost late for my appointment because I thought it would be easier 2. They have 6 nail stations, 2 of which are different than the other 4. I sat at one of those 2 and my knees did not fit under it...I mean I'm tall, 5'9", but I've never had this issue and it was actually super uncomfortable to try to have my arms/hands where they needed to be without being able to scoot in under the table. The atmosphere is nice, but the welcoming and waiting time needs major change. This is my second time coming. First time was exactly the same experience as the first. I stood by the doorway for a few minutes before greeted. Both times I made appts which is not kept. First time I waited 20 minutes before being serviced. Now the second time it's 15 mins past my appt time. I'm suspecting I'll be waiting another 15 mins if that until I get serviced. No one keeps track on who came in at what time and who had an appt. Anyway, very messy system. I don't mind making an appt if it is kept with minimal waiting time, but the wait time is ridiculous given the rating. I'm not sure if I would be coming back. Be prepared to wait if you do come. Otherwise, the pedicure was nice and they provide spa like items that's included in the pedicure price. I got a new gel tip set the first time and the lady did an alright job (my cuticles were pretty cut up the first time). Update: it is currently 1:03p. My appt was at 11:45a. I'm still not done. Just had my pedicure done. Still waiting for my my gel full-in. If you value your time, find somewhere else. Final update: I appreciate that the owner of the salon wrote back. Came here today after seeing good reviews and well i paid $100, and I'm still confused why. I understand that this place is suppose to be more "high quality" however it didn't receive any different kind of service that made it any different from any other salon. I just got a basic gel French manicure, and a gel manicure. $55 dollars for a gel manicure, no French just a pink color is insane to me. Also $45 for a gel French manicure whoaaaa. I can say the girl who did my pedicure was really sweet and took her time but the lady who did my hands rushed through and was sick as well. This is not the time to come to work sick. My hands and toes are nice, but i won't be returning due to the price. Something this simple i can get at a cheaper nail salon. I think if you do designs and play around with your nails colors maybe this place is good for you but i still can't justify paying $100 for what i got today. I got a manicure/pedicure here the other night and was extremely impressed with the caliber of service -- especially in light of the pandemic! First of all, the salon is decorated beautifully and it's very clear that the owner takes the health and safety of her customers (as well as her employees) very seriously. Of course, every person entering the salon MUST be wearing a mask and have an appointment in order to enter. Temperature checks are also conducted on each client before entering the salon, per CDC protocol. All employees wear a different uniform every day and don proper PPE, including facemasks and gloves. Each station is outfitted with plexiglass partitions that separate client to client and client to employees, and everyone is seated the required 6 feet apart. All stations, partitions, and tools are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each client, as well. I think it's important to note that current regulations do not allow anyone other than those receiving services to be in the salon, though, so make sure your appt is scheduled and you arrive on time! I felt safe and pampered, and my nails came out awesome! Definitely going back for more service when I'm in town again!! read more
