I believe Paradise Buffet is somewhat new and replaced the old Home Town Buffet. We went on a Sunday so it was pretty packed with customers and we just waited about 20 minutes to be seated. (Pricing: As of July 14, 2024 - Sunday) Seniors are $18.99 + tax. Adults are $19.99 + tax. Soft drink cup is $2.99 each. Experience: Fantastic customer service for a buffet. The servers were on you pretty quickly taking out your finished plates. One of the workers was hella fast in cleaning and sweeping the dining areas. The decor inside was pretty nice and the restrooms aren't too bad neither. (Birthday deal: If you're in a party of 3, the birthday person will be free! Just need to show ID for proof of birthday.) Food: Paradise Buffet offers a wide range of foods from your typical fried rice and lo mein to BBQ ribs, fried jalapeños, crabs, and hibachi grill. Their food quality is not outstanding but, pretty good for a low cost, Chinese buffet. This is our go to place whenever in the Garden Grove area when meeting with friends who majority lives near the area or bringing my mother for a doctor's visit at UCI. With the wide selection of dishes to choose from, Asian, Italian, Mexican, American and all sorts of international delicacies, you will not go wrong nor go into conflict with anyones craving. We came here to celebrate a family birthday, but the experience was very disappointing. Earlier in the day, we called to confirm the birthday promotion, and the staff said it was available. When we arrived, the restaurant refused to honor it, saying the information "doesn't count." The manager claimed the system could not apply the birthday discount but offered a child discount instead, which made no sense. What made this worse is that the restaurant's own poster clearly states the birthday promotion applies with at least one paying adult -- we met that requirement, yet they still refused. The cashier's dismissive attitude ruined what should have been a joyful dinner. Poor communication, unclear policies, and bad customer service turned our celebration into frustration. The place is clean, friendly service, plenty of tables, I had delicious cuts of prime rib, sausage, nigiri sushi, salmon sushi was my favorite. They had fresh and nice variety of meat and veggies at the Mongolian bbq and the service there was quick as well. Dessert was okay. Cake was on the softer side. I like the sugar cookie more than the sugar free cookie but great that they had sugar free desserts which was cookies and cake. Other buffets have buckets of ice cream in a freezer which I prefer but this place had a soft serve machine. A lot of people celebrating their birthdays and the staff clap and sing "Happy, Happy Birthday" every 15 to 20 minutes. They have most of your buffet staples but it seems like they have more options than your typical buffet. Some things here surprised me like having 3 soup options (all of them were great btw) and even having Sprite Zero as a selection! The food itself was average to above average at best.
