Spent a day from Hell at DFW airport. Massive flight cancellations and people everywhere. I walked around for some time looking for a place to sit down and grab some food and a much-needed cocktail. This was the only place without a long line - so it was the winner. It's an airport "Cantina" so I wasn't expecting much. The menu was a bit small and prices surprisingly high. A small-ish cup of Queso was $10 - a Beef Quesadilla was $22 (?!). And though I'm not a vegetarian, I wasn't in the mood for meat and there weren't a lot of non-meaty options (hey, I WAS in Texas I suppose). Still the Reserva Margarita was good sized and worth the $13. I would never want to repeat the 13 tortuous hours I spent at DFW, but if you find yourself in a similar situation, a nice big Margarita is probably just what you need.

Pappasito's took me by surprise! It looks like a generic chain restaurant from the outside, but the food was a step above what I'd expect. We had just enough time to kill in DFW for a seated dinner and this spot was right in front of our gate. We grabbed a seat at the bar to ensure we could be in and out. Our meal cost a pretty penny for what we got, but all airport food is rather overpriced anyhow. I can't forget to also mention the complimentary warm chips and salsa! That gives Pappasito's a leg up in my book, just be sure to ask if they don't dole it out right away. I ordered the steak quesadilla and my husband got one of the chicken burritos. We both really enjoyed it. On my quesadilla, there was plenty of steak, and he said the burrito was one of the best he's had in awhile. I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to come here, but if you're nearby, it's a solid option! The food came pretty fast, but I wouldn't be in too big of a rush if you can help it. There is a to-go kiosk as part of the restaurant, if you want to ensure you'll be out in time while still getting your hands on some Tex-Mex goodness.

[841] This Pappasitos location is located in the Dallas Fort Worth airport. We stopped in between our flights to have breakfast. Breakfast was reasonable priced especially for an airport location Hubby had the Tres Leche French toast which he enjoyed. He had a side of jalapeño sausage which he loved. Kid had scrambled eggs but they were runny so he wasn't a fan. So ask for well done I had the huevos rancheros which I loved. The baked beans were amazing along with all the other items on my plate If I am ever in DFW again this is the place I will visit for grub. We all enjoyed it

Everytime I visit DFW airport, I find myself at the Pappasitos Cantina to-go kiosk. I just can't stay away from their amazing chicken enchiladas! The shredded chicken is mixed in just the right amount of tangy red enchilada sauce and the soft tortillas are then smothered in cheese and sour cream sauce. You get two enchiladas plus a generous side of Mexican rice and beans. The order usually comes out in less than 5 minutes. Some drawbacks though - at $20 it's a bit pricey of a meal. Also if you have a sensitive stomach it's probably not a great choice before a long flight. But if you've got time and a little bit of change to spare then you need to visit Pappasitos Cantina in terminal A during your layover!

Absolutely wonderful food and service, I believe our server was named Tory and she was very speedy getting us seated and our food ordered when we were ready. Highly recommend the quesadillas and enchiladas, we also ordered a frozen margarita "The Platinum" by far the best one we've had!

This is the sole Mexican option in terminal C of DFW airport. As there are very few good outlets in terminal C, this place is always packed (during peak hours, you will not find any seating). Their menu options are pretty good and the service is fairly quick for an airport restaurant. But the taste is very mediocre- I had the chicken tortilla soup and the garden salad. It could have been better with more seasoning. The prices were high too. Overall, it was OK!

Coronado combination. See my review! =o)

I was flying into DFW and the fellow in the seat next to me was talking to me about our various travels. He was living in Mississippi and flew into DFW frequently, so I asked him if there were any gems to eat at in the airport. Pappasito's was on his list, and since good Tex-Mex is tough to find in Wisconsin, I sought it out to try. I was really glad I did -- this was not just good Tex-Mex, but excellent airport dining. The place was packed at lunch as I arrived, but the hostess was outside the restaurant and greeted me pleasantly and quickly, advising me that there was a wait for a table but I could seat myself at a bar chair for immediate service. Despite the bar appearing full, there was also long counter seating included in that, and so I was able to sit down immediately. It took about 30 seconds for a waitress to greet me in the packed restaurant. I ordered a local beer and requested a menu, and had the beer shortly thereafter. I asked for a recommendation, and she advised me that the Coronado combination was a good pick. After a little thought, I said let's give that a shot. The Coronado was $15.00 and consisted of a cheese enchilada, a crispy beef taco (which I was dubious about ordering), and three "shrimp en brochette". The latter consisted of tail on shrimp, butterflied and stuffed with fresh jalapeno and cheese, wrapped in bacon and grilled over fire. Rice and pinto beans came alongside. It was lights-out. First off, the pintos were dang-near perfect. Tender beans with just the right amount of porky liquid, seasoned wonderfully and with some bits of smoked sausage and other items....man, they were good. The only thing I would change is the salt level which could be lowered a little. Still, some of the best beans I've ever had and I'd love to have the recipe. The shrimp were great too. They were separated by grilled bell pepper slices that were crip and perfectly done. The shrimp were done just right too, which was a big surprise -- I was expecting them to be overcooked. I was really glad I took the chance. The bacon wrap was sizzling and good quality, and the jalapenos inside the cheese -- pretty sure it was Cotija or Chiuauaha -- were also fresh, green, and crisp. Again, they were a touch salty. Otherwise, perfect. Along with that, the cheese enchilada was easily the best I'd ever had; I could eat a plate of them. The taco was good with a crispy shell stuffed full of fair-quality beef, crispy lettuce and an ample amount of tomatoes. It was very generous and what I would call a Tex-Mex taco, as opposed to a truly Mexican taco. The rice was good but nothing special -- still, call me when you find some special rice, because that'll be the day. As an airport restaurant, service and speed are super important and Pappasito's did not disappoint. My server Rachel was on the ball and the food came out both hot and quick. The best compliment I can pay is that she provided the check shortly after I was served, saying, "This isn't to rush you, I just want to be sure you're taken care of." As a business traveller I really appreciate her knowing I may have a flight to get to and must get in and out in a hurry. As a diner, I appreciate her qualifying why I was getting a check in what would seem to a non-business traveller as inappropriately fast. Pappasito's had generous portions, great food and great service. If this were a street restaurant, it would get 4 stars because of the saltiness and somewhat high price. However, as an airport restaurant, it's a good 5 has the service benefits and quality outshine other options and the pricing is fair in the context of airport prices. I was glad I went from terminal B to terminal A for a bite to eat, and you would be wise to do so too. Recommended.

Yet, for the longest time, Baja Mex Grill did just that by serving the strongest margaritas in town. In fact, I had always heard that there was a limit of 2 per person. Although it may have only been a rumor, it was a good policy nonetheless (I speak from experience!) Even if margaritas weren't your thing, the food still held it's own. Basically, you couldn't go wrong with a visit here no matter your preferences. I don't know exactly when or how many times the ownership changed over the years, but apart from the name, nothing about this place is the same today. It was immediately evident upon being served chips and queso that both seemed like they came straight from a package. The extra hot salsa we requested turned out to be a creamy, green concoction that had a jalapeno-y flavor, but somehow still wasn't spicy. I will give them credit, however, for a very tasty regular salsa that appeared to be made in house. For my entree I ordered the Picante Enchiladas. Contrary to what the name implies there was no detectable heat. Furthermore, the grilled chicken on top had the distinct flavor of a frozen version made by Kroger. Once again, that prepackaged element reared it's ugly head. My husband and sons were mostly underwhelmed by their meals as well. The phrase "I've had better" was echoed around the table. And, they aren't normally a picky bunch! Our server brought everything out quickly, checked on us often, and kept our drinks topped up throughout our meal. So kudos to him! I have said this before, but it bears repeating. The Tex Mex arena is far too competitive for mediocre food like they serve here. It's a shame that a place I once considered to be 4-5 star establishment barely earns 3 stars now.

I am going to say they were respectable. Not the best I have had, but way better than a lot I have had. Would I get them again? Probably, but there are a lot of other things I would try on the menu before getting them again. Being my coworker's birthday, we ordered a Chocolate Piñata for dessert. It was a fun experience to have people at the table take a swing at it, until out came Churros, and Fresh Fruit. There was an array of sauces to dip the Fruit and Churros in. The lights were shaking as was our table. The salsa that came with the chips was really off, watered down and tasteless. I asked for a spicier one, which was a little more flavorful but also watered down. When our nachos came out, we were greeted by a pile of chips heavily coated in mostly melted, not great, probably fake, cheddar cheese. There was a layer of refried beans and grilled chicken underneath. The beans weren't bad, but the chicken was super salty. Very heavily seasoned with what is probably the same seasoning they put on their chips - some sort of seasoned salt concoction. My woman reported her margarita to be "super mix-y." My beer was cold, though. Like I said, this place just isn't too our taste but it seems to be great for others. And that's fine. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. It was quite possibly the blandest queso I have ever eaten. At this point I started to worry that it was a sign of things to come.
