Clean, quick service, tasty food, good portions, decent pricing. I got the beef and shrimp. Lots of flavor. I also got cafe su da. It was so strong. Yum The house spicy sauce has a nice strong kick and delicious. Summer is coming and this is the perfect food to keep cool

Vegan BÁNH MÌ & Vegan Spring Bowl; Lychee lemonade & Black Tea and Pineapple Guava Juice

We came here to try their vegan options after waiting for this location to open up in Azusa, since we can walk from our house. We had seen the menu online for the Pasadena location, but had never eaten there. When we arrived around mid day on a Saturday (after being open 1-2 days at that point), it was empty, but while we ate, several parties trickled in. We were initially surprised when we went to order the BÁNH MÌ and Spring Bowl with tofu, and were told that the way the tofu is prepared contained honey, but the more experienced woman working let us know they can prepare a separate batch of tofu for us with soy sauce . They proceeded to make the BÁNH MÌ in the back kitchen and with the remaining tofu I ordered my Spring Bowl with rice, mixed greens, carrots, cucumber, sprouts, sesame seeds, and peanut sauce; I wanted to get an order of spring rolls as well, but I did not let them know when they initially prepared the tofu in the back, so they only prepared enough for the sandwich and the bowl. When we went to pay, we were also given a complimentary vegan sauce (I believe it was the citrus one), which my husband used for his sandwich since it didn't have any sauce (since it usually comes with Mayo). He said next time he'd get the peanut sauce as well, in addition to the citrus one to have dipping options. I thought my Spring Bowl tasted great and my husband enjoyed his BÁNH MÌ overall. We ordered an unsweetened black tea and pineapple guava juice (half and half), and a lychee lemonade; I loved the lychee lemonade; my husband said that maybe he would mix the tea with lychee lemonade for an even better mixed drink (a Lychee Arnold Palmer). We ate inside by the window to people watch; I love it when restaurants have seating facing the window to people watch. Overall, everyone was very nice, welcoming, and accommodating. My only suggestion is to have the tofu marinate be vegan not just vegetarian, as honey can be replace by agave nectar, pure maple syrup, date syrup, or vegan honeys made from apples.

I've been waiting for Paper Rice to open for a while and followed them via IG. So when I saw they were having a soft opening yesterday, my dinner plans were set!! It was a bit of a nightmare for parking since Azusa had the farmer's market going on but we parked across the street by the rite aid. Think of Paper Rice as the Chipotle of Vietnam, you pick your base, your protein, your veggies, your toppings and your sauce! Everything was soo good, super light, fresh crunchy veggies. Loved the grilled shrimp, and my nem was delicious and almost as good as my mom's The BF got the sautéed salad and it was soo good, the warm dressing, grilled beef and shrimp. The perfect Bowl balance and filling! The lychee limeade is SO good!!

Paper Rice is a Vietnamese Cuisine located on Foothill in Azusa. This cuisine has a vast selection of Vietnamese-style breads and spring rolls, along with appetizers. The spring rolls and bread are freshly made when ordered. There is plenty of parking located inside the structure. The staff there were nice, friendly, and enthusiastic. Brianna was extremely helpful and friendly when providing services. I purchased xoi chien, which is the crispy sticky rice patty with minced pork and vegetables inside and shrimp egg rolls shown in this picture. I also love the guava lychee drink that they have there. The ambience of the restaurant is chill and relax. They have both inside and outdoor tables for dinning.

I cannot say enough good things about this place ! I love a build your own situation and the fact that the quality of everything is so good and so fresh is amazing. i've been going to the pasadena location for the last few years and am SO happy that they opened a location closer to me. I personally love their fried tofu spring rolls and the shrimp. something about the crispy eggroll inside is delish. I also got to try their Vietnamese coffee and it was sooo good. beware though, it is very stronggg. the workers were very nice and it looks cute Inside and very clean. please check this place out so we can keep it open and thriving!

I love Paper Rice and I'm so happy this location opened! Only a few blocks from my house, I don't have to drive to Pasadena all the time. Same great ingredients you're used to and all the delicious sauces. I've had all the proteins here and they are all great, at least 1 nem every time is a must though! Always yes to the crispies! Always get the mix for the dry ingredients. House spicy and citrus ginger are my favorite sauces, but again you can't go wrong with any of them.

My go to place when I go to Pasadena for Vietnamese roll is close to work. I got my usual order of the three rolls. This time I got chicken, nem, and shrimp. All of which had a pretty good flavor profile. The dipping sauces adds a whole new dimension to the dish. My Taniuis are the citrus and peanut sauce. The service was efficient and the place was clean. Great place to have a quick meal

BYO Spring Rolls with Baked Nem, Lettuce Base, House Mix Veggies & Herbs and a side of Traditional Citrus Sauce

Fresh and delicious Vietnamese Spring Rolls and Bowls! This new location is conveniently located near the parking structure. The space is clean and modern, but dine in seating might little limited during busy hours. But their food is perfect to carry out and enjoy at home, a picnic, or even on a road trip! The service team was efficient and friendly. Can't wait to come back to try other combinations!! My favorite order is the BYO Spring Rolls with the Baked Nem, Lettuce Base, House Mix Veggies & Herbs + Mint, and a side of the Traditional Citrus Sauce!

Spring rolls and pork belly banh mi sandwich

It's on the pricier side, but the food is flavorful and refreshing. The spring rolls are pretty big, juicy and crunchy. And the bahn mi was crispy and zesty. The sauces are really good too. A 3 pack of spring rolls and a sandwich together will cost you about $33, but it is worth trying if you're in the downtown Azusa area. The service too is good: they're patient and helpful.

This place is the perfect go-to spot. Healthy, tasty, and fresh. The ordering system is like chipotle/cava but for Vietnamese food, like spring rolls/bowls. Love the vibe and decor. There are some indoor and outdoor seating. Also located in downtown Azusa. Plenty of parking, just scattered all over the area.

Saw that this place was almost done moving in and finally my wife and I came to try it out. Parking was easy to find and free and there was no line. The food was quick and delicious! We got 3 spring rolls (lemongrass chicken, beef, and garlic shrimp) with the house mix of veggies and all the toppings. We chose the citrus fish sauce for our dipping and it was amazing! We also got 2 Banh Mi's, one with the backed nem and one with the pork belly. They were fantastic, the bread wasn't too crunchy and still soft. Overall, still better than Mr Baguette and Lees Sandwiches. We also got the Lychee Limeade (amazing) and the Vietnamese coffee. Overall, I would definitely go again! The only grip I had was it was a touch expensive, after everything the food was about $60 with tip.

However, we were told they stop seating guests after 8:30 PM and that arriving at 8:24 was "too close" to that cutoff. This was frustrating and confusing, as we technically arrived before their stated seating deadline. We dine here frequently and have always enjoyed our experiences, which made this situation especially disappointing. Being turned away despite arriving within what appears to be the acceptable window felt misleading and uncharacteristic of the service we've come to expect. If the kitchen or staff need to stop seating earlier than what customers would reasonably expect based on closing time, that policy should be made much clearer upfront. Turning guests away who arrive within the posted window feels frustrating and disappointing.

For being in a food hall in Glendora, this was a pretty good bowl of bbh. It has rich umami broth though it could have stood for more vermicelli noodles. I was most surprised by the amount of beef tendon. In fact, I asked for a side of fish sauce to dip the tendon lol. On my second visit, I built my own phở bowl ($17.48). You get a choice of 3 meats, so I chose wagyu steak, wagyu eye round, and brisket. I thought the meat quality was great. The broth, on the other hand, was having an off night I think. It had a very strong star anise flavor and the broth could have use a little skimming. And Broth offers a variety of interesting phở variations that I'd like to try. I like that there are so many different Vietnamese dishes umbrella-ed under one establishment. I'll definitely be back.
