Been to this restaurant two times and did not disappoint! The fish is fresh as can be! The ceviche, the sushi and fish dip is our go to items. Not to mention, THE BREAD!!.. it's far beyond normal bread!! The ambiance is casual and cool, the location outside (on the outskirts of the restaurant) is a little rough looking but once you hit the restaurant both outdoor seating and inside you almost enter a different zone all together. They have great island vibe music, good service, and very island vibe decor. It's a great family spot, good for kids, and good for large groups. We would definitely recommend this place! read more

The doctor found this place on a hot and steamy mid summer's nights eve as I roamed the beautiful streets of Pompano Beach. As I pulled in, I realized that there was no parking at all. Two shitholes were the predominant offenders- Seafood world: AKA the Cheesiest name of all time, and Le Bistro: this crap den actually took the time to put cones and block off the front of the entrance, which is fine because no one actually goes there. So we parked across the street and played frogger to get to the restaurant. This place is an amazing dive restaurant. One thing that is ridiculous and disgusting is the FSU flag in the entrance. The place is filled with University of Miami and Florida State University garbage. University of Florida is the best educational establishment this side of Pluto, and there's nothing paying tribute. This means the owner, despite making quality food, is a moron. Other than the aforementioned trash, It has incredible decor- think TGI Friday's but REAL Florida ocean themed decorations, and actually food you would eat. Enough on the heinous decor, let's get to the food- The food is amazing, as in Florida keys seafood amazing. There is almost every kind of local seafood on the menu, it's all fresh and in large portions. My cracked conch sandwich was so big they had to use a skewer to hold it together, kind of like a double sports bra for my oversized conch boobs. There was a live Jimmy Buffett band covering all those songs that you only remember when you're wasted, because that's the only time people listen to Jimmy. The raw and cooked oysters were amazing and fresh, which is good because if not you'll need a pillow next to the toilet. I've paid my dues on the toilet and this place looks legit. Here's a tip- if you go into a restaurant and the toilet has splatter marks, run, it means it hits people hard, and you don't want any of that evil Ricky Bobby. If you're ever visiting Fort Lauderdale and you're craving for seafood, this is the place to be! Thanks to yelp we were able to to make a decision where to have dinner on our first night. When we first walked in, Fena, our host was very friendly and helpful. Her persona was warming, inviting and approachable. She made it feel like home away from home. Chef Toby made us a special complementary apps so we were able to try different types of food amongst items we ordered. Our waitstaff, Courtney, made sure that we were taking care of. As soon as she knew we were on vacation, she did everything to make sure it'll be an amazing experience. I'm not sure if this establishment is family owned or not, but they sure work together really well as a team. Outstanding! Craft beer list longer than my arm with someone on staff that actually knows the difference between them all! Huge wine list as well. Food is amazing. Menu includes both raw and cooked food. There are even some sushi rolls with cooked fish. And, if you want to order a cooked sushi roll that is typically served raw, no problem! There is a separate room, away from the bar, which is perfect for families or larger groups. Valet parking is free and makes the parking lot experience much better. This place is awesome. We've been fans of Seafood World for as long as I can remember, but this place has a much younger, cooler, new school kind of vibe with a killer beer selection and a super impressive sushi & non-sushi food menu. First of all, what good is great beer if it's not cold? This place has ice cold beer in a cold glass. THANK YOU. It's not that hard but some people just can't get that part right. They have probably a solid dozen of rotating draft beer selections and maybe almost 100 can or bottle choices. I don't know anywhere aside from Yardhouse or World of Beers where you're going to find selection like that and this is sans the crowded douchey atmosphere (I love those places, but yea sorry it's a little much sometimes). Food-wise: the steak fried rice is DELICIOUS. This isn't your typical Chinese takeout kind of deal and don't be scared of by the hefty price tag of $16 either, cuz it's totally worth it. We get it as an appetizer to split between 3-4 people and everyone gets enough tasty, sticky, delicious rice, a very generous and healthy portion of a good quality steak cubes/pieces, plus there's a very tasty dipping sauce that I have to figure out the recipe for. Just order it. It'll make you smile if you like steak and/or fried rice. We've had a few of their sushi rolls, but so far the Firecracker roll and Wabo Cabo (or whatever it's called) are our favorites. They do a lot of different and super creative sushi rolls here with seafood you don't find everywhere, like wahoo, conch, different types of roe, etc. but wow, they are all amazingly fresh. This place probably has the freshest and best quality sushi-grade fish you're going to find in South Florida, and again, despite the seemingly hefty price tag ringing in at about $20 per roll, these rolls are HUGE. One roll is probably double what you'd get somewhere else for about $12-13 and of much higher quality to boot. We have done 2 rolls for 3 people or 3 rolls for 4 people after the fried rice appetizer and everyone left full and very content. Must visit! Make sure you don't drive past it, and even if you do, it's worth the u-turn. read more

It was quite crowded and I felt squished, especially because my chair was basically in the walkway between the two exit/entry doors into the restaurant. Despite this, the food was good and the seafood was very fresh. I ordered the shrimp tacos (fried) original style which had coleslaw, pico de gallo, and spicy mayo. The sushi here is incredible, period. Freshest, wild-caught fish in town. The sushi is well-made, and doesn't have rolls falling apart on you. Very large menu with lots of sushi and non-sushi (mainly hibachi) options. For those of you that don't like raw fish - they have cooked rolls. They also have lots of no-rice options for low-carbers. Also - incredible beer selection! Regular live music with talented performers, though a little loud. The downside: atmosphere, service, crowds, and COST! This place is basically a dive bar, which would be fine except it's priced like a 5 star restaurant. Seriously, even Zuma in Miami is cheaper than this place! A specialty roll will cost you $25-$30 bucks, and even the simple ones are in the $13-$15 range. For what this place is, the prices are astronomical. It's also pretty small, which means it can be hard to get a table during busy times. I have pretty much given up trying to go there on weekends. Parking is also a HUGE pain! They simply aren't in an appropriate spot to support the volume of people they get. The outdoor area is very small, and when they have live performers it's too loud because you're so close to the speakers. The service is hit or miss - sometimes it's great, but If you're sitting outside, the servers frequently forget about you. I know that sounds like a lot more downsides than upsides, but the quality of the sushi makes it all worth it. Surprisingly, there just aren't that many great sushi places in this area. This is one of my top 3 in South Florida (the other 2 being Buddha Sky bar in Delray and Zuma in Miami). Try it! But if you down want a long wait, go on a weeknight (they don't take reservations). The food is fresh, tasty and high quality, and I expect to pay for quality, however I usually expect the atmosphere to go along with it. It feels like a dive bar but carries the price tag of a more upscale place. The food is worth the price tag to me, but the atmosphere and service isn't. Maybe if it was on the beach or something. The service when we've gone has been hit or miss. Either very good service or absolutely terrible. Closest thing to a cocktail when we went was a white wine sangria type drink. It was good but not great. Beer and wine selection is good, but I don't drink much of either of those. If you don't mind the ultra casual dive bar type of vibe (and the service to match) but just want to eat great food after a day of fishing or something then you'll enjoy it here. read more

This is one of my favorite places and it never disappoints. All of the sushi is always great, fresh and amazing. My favorite, for sure, are the grilled oysters. They are so delicious, grilled and cooked with cheese on top. A crowd pleaser. The atmosphere is mostly bar, although they only have beer and wine. There is an adjacent room for parties of 5 or more, but I have never sat there. I like the bar atmosphere, personally. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! But, their sushi is phenomenal. I come here often. Paula Marie was a server this week. and she was knowledgeable, friendly and excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. The first time we attempted to find Papas Raw Bar we ended up having a great seafood dinner at Seafood World next door. The food and service was great, but a bit more subdued than what Yelp had us expecting. We found Papa's next door on the way out. It's kind of easy to end up at the wrong place - although there's nothing but great food in both joints. Tonight we found Papa's. High energy staff, customers with a "here to party" attitude and an overall great experience. We tried two different taco's, the crab Rangoon and fried salmon roll. The food was unusually interesting and well prepared and the craft beer menu was a added bonus. My wife added a slice of key lime pie for the end of a truly unique and interesting dinner after a largely boring Saturday afternoon. I wish I remembered the servers name because he was great. Actually, from the hostesses to all of the staff they were all great. They brought a high energy positive vibe to the place and enhanced our dining experience. Yes, we liked it a lot and by the way, the price was very reasonable relative to every other Deerfield beach decent restaurant. I tried the kitty kat roll (I usually get the hibiscus every time so tried to change it up). It didn't disappoint! I love this place great food great vibes. We drive from Parkland atleast once a month to enjoy a few pounds of crab and their fried rice. Their food is all crave worthy we recommend this place to everyone. The staff is all energetic and friendly never had bad service which is rare when you visit a place often everyones great. The waiter made us feel like we weren't even there and kept flirting with the other waitress. They were converstating and swearing loudly and were all over each other, while completely ignoring the other customers that were sitting at the bar.
