    Mofongo with jumbo shrimp
    Julie P.

We really enjoyed being able to show up last minute and get seated by cheerful staff. The place was hopping with joyful energy and happy patrons. Our server was lovely and made some recommendations. We tried the spicy and sweet calamari app and shrimp fajitas and I tried their famous mofongo with shrimp. I was so glad to try this - the outer crunchy plaintains were perfectly seasoned and the jumbo shrimp were cooked just right. The sauce made me want to lick my plate. The cocktails were generous and beautiful. So luck to have such a great place to eat nearby with a huge assortment of offerings. The food came out quickly and we were done in less than an hour. I highly recommend it!

Came here with a couple friends. I've been here a handful of times but it was new to them so I was excited to share it. I've had good experiences here each time, including this one. The service is polite and pretty attentive. It was very busy on a Friday night, they probably could have used another person waiting on tables because we did wait a little bit for water at points and the food took quite a while to come out. It's a casual spot, ambiance screams business casual but no one bats an eye if you show up in a hoody or a t-shirt. Just not a sweatpants and gym shorts kind of place. Complimentary bread with some seasoned olive oil, nice touch (always a way to an Italians heart), and the bread was actually pretty good, served warm, fluffy and crusty. I went astray and got the carne asada. I'd usually get a more exciting dish but it's not often I order steak out and wanted something on the lighter side. I really enjoyed the puerto rican stewed pink beans. The potato, tomato base and the diced bacon in there was delicious. Having bites of this spread over the rice with the fresh pico along with a small bite of steak was a very nice and tasty combo. The skirt steak itself was honestly underwhelming. It wasn't seasoned well, could have used some salt. It was cooked how I requested, medium rare, but boy, it took a lot of chewing to eat this. Cut against the grain, small thin bits, with the grain, nothing helped make this feel more tender. It took me a long time to eat it. I certainly wouldn't order it again. I would likely get the Pollo asado next time since it comes with the same sides and instead of skirt steak, a half chicken. This skirt steak was definitely an inside skirt steak, which is super tough and chewy and takes more prep to tenderize. Unfortunately, they didn't do that extra work, evident by the tired jaw I had upon finishing my plate. Regardless, it's one subpar meal vs the several great ones I've had over the years. Plus, the prices here are so reasonable. $22 for carne asada. Most entrées are around the low-$20-mark, making the value here very good. Just be selective with your choices. My friends tried the Mofongo and the Steak tips. Both really enjoyed their dishes and would order them again.

Everyone has a bad day, hopefully this was one of them, my husband ordered medium and got raw, cold blue center, he sent it back, they just put the whole plate under heat lamp, so the steak came back rare and everything else overcooked. I have never sent anything back until this, my meat was also raw, it came back barely rare but edible to me. I'll give them another try as we are usually very happy here.

Excellent food, fresh and tasty. Service is attentive. Pretty basic inside. Definitely worth a visit, I definitely will be returning.

Went there with a friend for lunch. It was super dead on a Sunday at like 2pm which I liked lol We sat at the bar. The bartender was approachable but because it was so dead I didn't feel like he was super attentive. Still good but that's honestly my only complaint. Other than that the food was SOOOOOO GOOD!!! I honestly find it hard to believe any dish you get wouldn't be superb. Especially when I went on a slow day. Usually it's the contrary. Lol I definitely recommend and will also be back!

    Salvadoran Enchiladas

I sought out this place this weekend with a friend having remembered them for great food from 8 years ago. This is not in my neck of the woods. I had the Salvadoran Enchiladas with ground beef. These are nothing like the Mexican ones I'm familiar with. The flat corn tortillas were crispy and topped with perfectly seasoned beef, refried beans, orange peppers, onions, cabbage, avocado slice and hard boiled egg slice. Sloppy to eat but delicious! My friend enjoyed her Salvadoran Carne Asada which came with white rice and pico de gallo with white beans. She was just as pleased as o was with the food. The dessert menu looked inviting, but we decided to be good and pass on it. Consider this a 4 1/2 star review. The bathroom was a disappointment, but not too bad. The ambiance is lacking but not necessary. The food is certainly the main attraction!

    Puerto Rican bruschetta

I came here again on Valentine's Day, and I was still so impressed. The service here is phenomenal. Our waitress was fabulous. She was very attentive, caring, and she really accommodated us. As for the food, it was out of this world. This restaurant really has like a little bit of everything. The appetizer we had was a Puerto Rican bruschetta. It was a special for the night, and it was so good!! For my meal, I had the conejo which was a rabbit dish. It was something I never had before so I wanted to try it. It came with white sticky rice, refried beans, and tortillas. I didn't care too much for the beans or tortillas, but I'm not much of a taco person. My girlfriend had the veal Marsala. She liked that very much. She said the veal was a bit chewy but overall she really liked it and she finished her meal which never usually happens!

I went the day it was raining all day but cleared up my late afternoon so I was nervous they would be closed. However, it was far from closed and in fact, the ice cream counter to order is inside, protected from the weather. They have the classics and basics, along with more unique flavors and a rotating flavor of the month. I went with peanut butter oreo and caramel caribou (flavor of the month). They offer different sizes and each one brings a generous amount according to the price. We enjoyed the ice cream outside at one of their picnic tables. They have some plastic traditional picnic tables, but also some stone circular tables which get a little uncomfortable over time. The ice cream was great! The only disappointing part was that the peanut butter oreo had a very light peanut butter base, but it was packed with oreo chunks so it made up for it. The caramel caribou was very smooth and packed with caramel swirls and caramel stuffed chocolate bites. They weren't overwhelming sweet which was good. They also offer half gallons of ice cream to go in select flavors including the flavor of the month as well as merchandise including tshirts, hoodies, hats, and stuffed cows. We were very satisfied with our visit.

It's a cool place, they have inside or outside seating. Overall good, not great.

Mansfield train station (I'm grouping the two) pales in comparison; bathrooms are nicer and cleaner for one. The ladies that work there are welcoming and friendly for another. The main reason I've given Dian's Depot three stars is the little take a book, leave a book library, which is nice but I plan on adding some, and plead for others to do the same, as it hasn't changed in a while. That being said, Dian needs to reevaluate his prices. I got a large tea which is apparently the same price as every other size they offer, with no additional bag. Which means...that's right, we are all being charged for water. It was still fairly cheap but why not make all tea the price of a small, or a large for that matter? I don't care if you charge me more, just don't BS me. Makes no sense. Also I ordered a black tea with milk and sugar and what did I get? No milk. No sugar. The girl tried to argue with me that black tea means nothing added. If I was ordering coffee-sure; alas, I was not. For those of you who care (no one), black tea is a variety, not a description as with coffee. Dian also advertises Twinging's Tea and provides *&^%$ (ROUGHLY TRANSLATED: "SHITTY") Lipton Tea. The ol' bait and switch if you ask me.

With hundreds of customers a day, she makes me feel super special by greeting me with a smile and remembering my coffee. My day starts pretty early so she sets my day off right with her sweet attitude and thoughtfulness. Definitely worth the few cents extra for coffee over the big chains. My friend and I went on a weekday night, about 2 hours before closing so it was pretty quiet. I initially thought the bookstore was only on the first floor of the building but turns out it's a multi-story experience. There is a parking lot at the back where I parked and I was able to enter through the back door (not sure if this is the main entrance). On the first floor, they have some books, bathrooms, a check out desk, nick nacks (hats, stationery, puzzles, etc.), and most importantly, a coffee shop. The coffee shop was closing up around the time we got there so plan accordingly and do some research on their hours. as they are not the same as the bookstore. The books are clearly labeled by genre. After taking a stroll, we decided to check out the second floor which was supposed to have a little market, a stage where they host events, and some very comfortable couches along with tables and chairs. I mostly came to see if a book spoke to me, but also to get some reading in from the book I brought along with me. The lighting is good, although I sometimes prefer to have a dimmer setting for a cozier feel. We spent about 1.25 hours here, but we could have easily spent a longer time if it weren't so close to closing.
