I recently had the pleasure of dining at Papa Chops. Can I just say, they completely exceeded my expectations! As someone with Celiac disease, finding a safe and delicious dining is a huge challenge. However, Papa Chops is 100% gluten free and is also nut free. Traveling all the way from metro Detroit, I never would have imagined that I would find the best Celiac-safe restaurant I've ever been to in Grand Rapids. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the knowledge, attentiveness, and kindness of the staff. I felt confident in their ability to provide a safe meal. But it wasn't just the safety of the food that impressed me; it was the quality and taste of the food that truly blew me away. Being gluten-free, I had resigned myself to never being able to enjoy certain indulgent treats like onion rings, fried pickles, and mozzarella sticks. However, to my absolute delight, Papa Chops has perfected gluten-free versions of these beloved dishes! The onion rings were crispy and flavorful, and the fried pickles had just the right amount of tanginess. The mozzarella sticks were also perfect. It was a revelation to finally be able to savor these long-lost favorites. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough to anyone with Celiac disease or gluten sensitivities. The combination of exceptional safety measures, delectable gluten-free options, and friendly staff make it a standout dining experience. Hustling the entire time, friendly and polite, while never forgetting any drinks, and keeping up with our group as we moved from a booth to a table.
