While i am not familiar with the 'Par' Point-Of-Sale (POS) system. I am very suspicious of my experience at this location today, for the employees to claim everything was recorded correctly when they read it back before receiving payment. Just to appear bewildered when we requested a receipt and pointed out the issue; suddenly it's a bug in their system, not user error. Okay so I went to planet fitness because it was my day to workout. I sat in the parking lot for about 10 minutes and nearly fell asleep. Then I realized... I don't want to work out so I went to Five Guys for the first time in my whole life and oh my goodness I am SO GLAD I DID! The burgers are doubles unless you ask for a single and they have so many options for add ons. I definitely went for a cheeseburger with grilled onions and jalapeños, lettuce, pickles, and mayonnaise with a small fry and a peanut butter chocolate milkshake. It's been so long since I had a milk shake and this one hit so many spots!! Took me all the way back to Johnny Rockets! There were SO MANY FRIES! I got a small fry and then they filled 1/3 of the bag with MORE! I didn't know they do that. Everything was seriously tasty, the service was great, the people awesome, and atmosphere was well just fine. I wish I never went because now I have to go back. If you have ever eaten at a Five Guys before you probably have experienced what I am about to say, greasy floors. The floors will mot disappoint. I actually witnessed one customer slipping around on the greasy floor in fun. The restroom doors had greasy/food stains on the handles and door, which was not very appealing. Ok, the food was good. The fries were not as fresh as they could have been. The burger was really good. We did get the "little" versions of the burgers, which basically means one patty vs two. We did get "everything" on it which includes mushrooms and sautéed onions with all the normal toppings. I would get the burger again for sure. The total bill with three burgers and one large order of fries came to be ~$23, so it's a bit pricey. I would go again but not too often. Also, it does take some time to get your food. My boyfriend had a bonus reward at Five Guys with his Chase card that was expiring, so we decided to grab a quick lunch at this 28th Street location. I hadn't been to Five Guys in quite awhile, but I'm always excited for a burger! I forgot that the menu is kind of overwhelming in the fact that you can get any toppings you want so I sort of panicked. I ordered a Little cheeseburger with ketchup, grilled mushrooms, and grilled onions. The regular burgers come with two patties, the Littles come with one. We also ordered a small fry to share. You can also get a hot dog, bunless burger, veggie sandwich, grilled cheese, or a BLT. I would never get anything but a burger at Five Guys just because they're so good! The patties are thin and juicy, and the buns are toasted. The Little burgers are less messy and easier to manage than the double patties. The fries are always fresh cut and piping hot, and they usually give you double the order in the bag. A few minor complaints about this location on this particular visit: many of the tables had been left in disarray but I chalk that up to people not cleaning up their messes before leaving. The girl taking our order was not friendly either. I would definitely go back again if I was craving a burger and in the area, though. I went in not really thinking much of it, just another burger place. But I was pleasantly surprised and can't think of a single negative thing to say about my experience. The cashier was friendly, attentive, and patient, and the service was speedy. The soda machines are the kind that let you choose and soda and flavor type, and I can't ignore the ketchup, either. Most places make you open a million little, annoying to open ketchup packets to get a decent amount, but Five Guys let's you pump ketchup into a little cup instead, which is infinitely easier. Then to the food itself, the burgers were perfectly cooked, prepared quickly, and the most important part, very delicious. The burger patties were well seasoned, nice and crispy. The portions are great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also a friendly and welcoming one. Overall a 5/5 experience and will be going back again. read more

After loads of fun, my daughter had worked up quite an appetite, and was hoping for a greasy burger and yummy fries. She wanted to try Five Guys for the first time, and she was not disappointed (nor was I!). We both got the bacon cheeseburger - who knew it was a double burger! - and fries, and she got a strawberry milkshake. Mmmm, we both loved our giant burgers, though neither of us could finish eating ours, and the fries were just awesome with malt vinegar and ketchup. You can pick as many topping as you want to no extra charges! Their fries are delicious and my personal favorite! They have really good Cajun fries if you're looking for something with a little spice! Just know their fries come with a ton! Their shakes are also soooo delicious! One of the better burger chains out there. Typically, you don't see an improvement in a place like this over time, but this Five Guys seems better than it did when it opened. The service remains good and there is never a long wait for your food despite it being made to order. The menu is pretty much burgers, fries, hot dogs and shakes. After having sampled most everything on the menu, I would advise sticking with the burgers. The hot dogs are not bad enough to make baby Jesus cry, but they are pretty sad. For the French Fries, they do this thing where they give you a mountain of 'em no matter what size you order. I ordered two "small" size fries and got a bag with two small cups overflowing with fries and the rest of the bag filled with fries. The fries are pretty tasty, so I don't mind having a lot of extras. The burgers are not as greasy as some purport, but you have to admit to yourself that you aren't here for a healthy meal. What matters is that they are tasty and generously sized (a normal portion is two patties.) My kids declared this place their favorite burger chain, which is fine by me since they can never totally finish their meals and I never seem to be too full. read more

Good ol' fashion, American, greasy burger. The food is very greasy but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing. Just like sometimes you just want a greasy slice of pizza (maybe that's just me..lol) sometimes you just want a big juicy burger. The food here is like a next level steak n shake only the burgers are bigger and have WAY more flavor. HOWEVER, I will say they could do a better job at making the "half the french fries" in the bag thing more clear. I asked how many came in the smallest size and he told me about it but without that little exchange I wouldn't have known that's their "thing". Overall, I really like the burgers here and would definitely come again. I really like Five Guys....much better than Smashburger or Red Robin. Smashburger's burgers are very greasy, and Red Robin cooks their burgers in an oven with a "belt"....(like how pizza chains cook their pizzas), so you can't exactly get your burger cooked to the temperature you'd like. Anyway, first thing that you need to know about Five Guys is that their fries are cooked in peanut oil, and they have self- serve peanuts by the Coca-Cola machines! (The machines that let you add sugary flavorings to your already diabetic-inducing soda!) Love the peanuts, but just beware if you have peanut allergies! You can grab a basket full, fill up your soda, and munch while you wait for them to cook your burger to order on the flat top. If cooked right, they have a nice "crust" on the outside! The burgers are great-- kinda skinny, but the regular burger comes with 2 patties-- huge & filling! The little burger comes with 1 patty. Most of the toppings are FREE, so top off your burger with everything from cooked onions & mushrooms to lettuce, tomato, & raw onion to mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish, pickles, A1 sauce, BBQ sauce, etc. Cheese and bacon are extra! The fries are awesome! Fresh cut with salt or Cajun seasoning! Cajun is not spicy (I think it's just Lawry's seasoning salt.) Large enough to share!! Really, really surprised by how good and how plentiful the food is here. Yes, the prices are a bit high, but you get a TON of food for your trouble. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and you get a huge burger, two patties, and generous items atop it. The fries are amazing and they not only give you a large cup of them in your bag, they toss the equivalent of a McDonalds medium fry into the bag. Right now the store has been open about two weeks, so they are still having some of the 'new store / new employee' problems, so you have to take that into consideration. To speak to the other reviews out there - Culvers is decent, as is Smashburger, but with them you get the thin little "Mr. Fables" patties, and this is more like going to Red Robin. read more

One word: SLOW. Like so slow. We came and ordered 1 milkshake. When we arrived the dining area was full- 20 people or so. Not a SINGLE person had food in front of them. W waited for our milkshake for 30 minutes, and nobody even got busy at the milkshake machine until 5 minutes before my milkshake was handed over. I'm in awe in the worst way. First time we have gone there. Food was excellent and the shakes were tasty. I loved the idea of all the things you can add to your burger here. I like the fact that you get peanuts while you wait for your food. We got a ton of fries with the meal. My issues were that the tables were dirty. Now this was due to how busy there were, but they should still make time to at least clean the tables. I always start with the positives. The burger was great! The meat is juicy and the toppings are fresh. Bring extra napkins because it gets messy. My burger had lettuce, mayo, grilled onions, mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, bacon and cheese. For $7 it was a great deal. My daughters both ordered the grilled cheese and it comes on a burger bun flipped inside out. They both complained of the taste, I tried it and had to agree. It was unappetizing, grilled in oil it seemed not butter. The fries were made in the same oil and it tasted like the fryer needs a cleaning. The pops are $2 for the smallest size. So out the door it cost us $27. The price doesn't match the food. I don't plan on a return trip for overpriced mediocre food. I spent time in the Maryland/Washington DC area when Five Guys first started and their food was amazing. Quality control was tight. So when they opened a location near Ann Arbor, I made a point of stopping there when I was in the area. What a disappointment. Fries were so salty that I couldn't eat more than a few. And the burger was horrible -- greasy, about 1/4 cup of mayo. A mess. I also tried their locations in Grandville and Grand Rapids on more than 1 occasion just to give them the benefit of the doubt.
