I've been wanting to try Mad Dogz forever but it's not very convenient to our house. I found ourselves nearby and we had to make the stop on our daddy/daughter date. The staff was so friendly and our food was ready in 5 minutes. The restaurant was busy but they kept getting food out pretty quickly. We were able to grab a booth in the front window to eat at the restaurant. I tried the classic Mad Dog and then tried two specialty dogs, the Don Ho and the Mac Daddy. The classic Mad dog was probably my favorite but the specialties were unique and delicious as well. The dogs have so many toppings piled on them that it gets quite messy but so worth it. My daughter enjoyed her plain corn dog and the side of mac and cheese. We will definitely be coming back. read more

I come in at least once every few weeks for a dog or their walking tacos and every one I've tried so far has been surprising but delicious and by far my favorite and go to has to be the goofy. Love love love their hot dogs.... But was taken aback tonight when me and my family came in at 6:30 to order for dine in and we were told "we close at 7 you know, with a long pause" RUDE. This wasn't told to the people before us who were literally steps in front of us and ordered literally a minute before us. Yes we are a family of 6 but only 4 of us ate. First time to Mad Dogz. I'll be back! I had the Goofy dog. It was great. You really need to try it. I also had the Don Ho. Another very unique mix of ingredients to make a really good dog. So many others that I have to try. The staff was awesome as well. Checked on us a couple times to see if we needed anything. Hit this place after a Futsal game. We had the Bonkers (chili cheese dog) and they are way better than Yesterdog in my opinion. I also had the Dizzy which has sauerkraut, mustard, thousand island and cheese in it.. whoa man... now that was a tasty dog. Kids had a corn dog and dog w ketchup and both scarfed them down. Terrible. I used to love this place for many years, but it definitely has gone down the drain. My son and I went in there. We were served toppings on old hotdogs. They were a terrible color on the outside and could definitely tell that they were old on the inside. We tried to go up to the counter to re-order. The owner was sitting on a stool on her laptop, and the worker she had with her was sitting on a stool on her cell phone and they did not even acknowledge us for a good 10 minutes. Very disappointing won't ever go again. I should've realized when the two neighboring restaurants headlines out the door yet there was not a single soul in the hot dog joint. read more

Took my girls here for lunch. First thing we noticed was the prices. Compared to other hotdog places the prices were really low. I don't often say this but business-wise they should charging more for the specialty dogs. I tried three. The best by far was the standard chili dog. The BLT like dog was good but the sour cream was weird and not great. The Mac n cheese dog was too messy to enjoy. The guy running the cash register was a bit rude. The lady making the dogs and bringing them out was delightful. Final suggestion, they need to move the pop machine out so costumers can get refills. read more

I should learned the first time, when you add anything to an exist hot dog, they charge you the additional cost, but it never makes it onto the item. I really want to like this place. But end up feeling ripped off. I guess the person making them is not paying attention to the cashier charging for the extra item. So I ate my wrongly made dog. Was just there today and got two Rage dogs. I love a good hotdog and was very impressed with these. The bun was fresh not stale (Like some places), the toppings great and friendly staff. Mind blown! That's how I felt biting into the Goofy dog - crunchy peanut butter, chili, pickle relish, topped with crushed Frito's chips on top of a dog in a steamed bun. Yep, you read that correctly- it had crunchy peanut butter on it (or creamy if you like that)! Biting into it, I tasted all the 'layers' of flavor- first the peanut butter, then the chili, then the relish, and finally the chips. The peanut butter made it super filling and the salty of the peanut butter tastes pretty good with the savory of the hot dog and the sweet of the pickles. I don't know that I need to do this dog every time I visit, but I'm sure glad I tried it once. Now the Chiliemacaloco- I can have this one every day! My second dog came out with Mac and Cheese, chili, sriracha, jalapenos, and crushed Frito's to top it off with. I did light sriracha on mine because I sometimes can't handle thing that are too, too hot, and it was perfect that way. The mac and cheese was super goopy and cheddar-y making the hot dog fun to eat. I felt like a kid that combined all my favorite foods to build a new, super food! The owner was really nice and fun to talk with during my visit . He was patient as I took several pictures of my food and waited for my facial expression after taking my first bite of both hot dogs. After finishing up my meal, I humbly offered myself up as a taste tester for future menu additions. No word yet if they will take me, but I'm sure glad I got to try these two popular favorites. Was in the mood for a hot dog and stopped here on a whim. So glad I did! Really cool place, and Marco, the owner, is very proud of what he and Diane have created here. I tried the Goofy Dog -- chili, butter, pickles, and corn chips. Amazingly, it works! Also got a Chicago Dog and honestly feel it's the best Chicago-style dog I've ever had in this time zone! I will definitely come back here again, and my first choice will always be the Goofy Dog. Next time I'll probably try the Wild Hog, or the Mac Daddy. So glad I found this place. What a great find! I am in Grand Rapids for 3 weeks for work and have only been eating chain restaurants. A co-worker suggested I check this place out and I am sooo glad I did! I had one of the best chili dogs ever. The staff was super nice and I love how they bring you one dog at a time. I ordered way too much food and the owner boxed up my leftovers. I wish they had side items (fries, onion rings, etc) but if you do one thing really good I can understand not expanding your menu.
