Stopped for the night and Reds Rootbeer was just down the road from our hotel. The waitress was very sweet and repeated the order back to me. The Burger was great tasting and made of two good sized stacked burgers. My wife got the chicken finger basket and said it was tasty. To go with the burger basket I got a Root Beer Togo which was some Great tasting root beer, the waitress even refilled my drink before I left. I really love old fashioned drive-up restaurants like this and was so excited when I came across it while planning my road trip in Michigan. I also love a good root beer and was impressed when this one was served in a frosty mug. Chicken strips were standard but I'm not a big fan of crinkle cut fries and pre-packaged ranch. No idea what the hype is about for this place The chili dog had ground beef chopped finely, very little Chili flavoring and a small hot dog which was not even hot. The onion rings were just so so. The Cole slaw had very little sauce on it. So disappointing as I had wanted to try this place for 2 years. The fries were good. The Italian beef was on a soft hoagie roll - the roll was good. Red's is a classic drive in. The weather was nice when I stopped by, so I sat outside on the tables. I asked the server what she recommended, and she seemed like she wasn't really interested in talking to me. Perhaps because I wasn't a local. Luckily enough one of the other patrons piped up and said everything! I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a root beer in a mug. The rootbear was the best part! Stopped by here a few months ago on a road trip to Michigan and it was a pleasant surprise! Pretty decent hot dogs/chicken tenders and fries and basically a giant menu of anything you can imagine fast food. Also ask for their root beer speciality! It was very good and they offered free refills if you ask. Service was good, you might need to check for garbage or food on your bench from the previous customers but that comes with this kind of venue anyway. Found a Gem of a Root-beer drive in dinner off I-94 exit at Paw Paw Michigan. Not sure which was better the food or the service? Wife had Chicago hot dog and tator tots with coleslaw. They were delicious. I tried a coney with hamburger chili. Excellent. Also tried the pulled pork sandwich with french fries and and the coleslaw. Yes we will go back! So many tasty items on the menu, so little room in stomach! The staff worked like a real team supporting each other's customers and gif did they hustle! The food here at Red's is delicious and prepared fast. Currently they are taking precautions to ensure everyone's safety. I was pleased to see that all staff had masks on, they delivered paper menus that you as the customer kept, they brought out a credit card reader that I was the only one to touch my card, they asked to sign so I didn't have to, and when they brought out ice cream they wore gloves. The food came out in paper bags and they didn't share trays with any other customers. For the food- I got a mushroom burger which was juicy inside and the mushrooms were fresh. Their cheese fries are amazing, I don't like to share! My kids got chicken fingers and a hot dog. And of course we all enjoyed ice cream after! read more

We happened to come across this place by accident. The food was excellent. I had the veggie burger with fries. It was pretty good. The only thing they didn't have was any guacamole or avocado to go on it. The staff were friendly and right there checking on you. It was a nice place and so glad it was also a walk up as well as a drive up. I would highly recommend at least once. Can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu! read more

After having returned back to the States, we decided that the one thing France needs are more drive ins serving baskets of Coney Dogs & fries and cold glass mugs of Root Beer. Fortunately, we were traveling during the winter and Red's was closed for the season so we missed nothing. The restaurant does an amazing high volume of business, so it's best to seek food here on off hours (the hours between lunch & dinner, weekdays opposed to weekends). When the weather is great, particularly on weekends, it can be hard to squeeze into the parking lot. I can think of no other place in Paw Paw I'd rather go to for a meal. The staff are well trained and polite, and the restaurant has a system so that no one gets lost or forgotten. Prices have increased but they've increased everywhere. read more
