This was my second time trying Nonla burger. Both times have been fantastic. I had previously ordered the special of the day, which was a brisket burnt ends burger. It was loaded with flavor and a fantastic burger. This time I ordered the Hot Chicken Sando. It was delicious and quite spicy. If you like a spicy, hot sandwich dripping with chili oil, this is the chicken sandwich for you. It chicken is very crispy even with the sauce on it. It was spicy! I would say a bit more than a medium spice, which lingered. The service is friendly and I love that they play '80's music. Overall, I can't wait to try order menu items. read more

I'm always looking to hit Nonla Burger whenever I'm in KZoo. Their burgers are decent, but they aren't quite as good as what they were several years ago. BUT their Chicken Sandos are the hidden gem that really stand out. This week I just happened to be in the area while they were featuring a Kung Pao Chicken Sando and it was the best sandwich I've ever had from them. The flavors, the crunch from the peanuts, and the juicy chicken patty all came together beautifully! This is a special worthy of a permanent spot on the menu. Staff here has always been friendly and ready to answer any questions when I've visited; and service has always been quick. They have fountain sodas but also bottles of Mexican Coke, a wide selection of Jarritos, and more. My employer treated us to Nonla Burger for lunch today. I was excited because I have not been there in a while. Nonla's food is priced higher than Culver's, so I tend to go to Culver's when I'm in the mood for a good burger. I ordered the N.B. Double, minus tomatoes, which is their double cheeseburger. I did not order fries because the burger fills me up. I don't know if I had built the food memory up too much or what, but I was very underwhelmed by the taste. The burger was cooked well and I probably should have removed some of the onions they piled on (I could really use my toothbrush/toothpaste right now lol), but it did not taste as good as I remembered. I am glad that I did not pay for the burger as it was not worth the price paid. read more

My family and I have been stopping at Nonla burger for years ever since my brother went to school at Western Michigan. These days no La is still our go to pit stop food destination while we drive from Detroit to Chicago. The style of these burger is reminiscent of In N Out. They are extremely consistent with the meals and I have never once been disappointed with a burger. Is it as amazing, as In N Out? No, but that doesn't take away from the quality. The go to is the NB double cheeseburger. When I'm not in the mood for a burger I'll get the chicken sandwich which is also a solid option. You won't be disappointed with either option. We drive 45 min to come get burgers at Nonla Burger. The patties aren't super thick and I love the ratio of onion, lettuce, and tomato that comes with the cheeseburger! Be warned it's not a big place so seating (especially indoor) is very limited. When we were walking up there were many pleasant smells lingering outside. FRONT COUNTER: The lady taking our order was very pleasant as well as the one who brought our food out. FOOD: This is what we ordered.... N.B. Double Meal (#1) -- Taste: was good. Wasn't anything special or made us go "oh wow". Meal comes with side of fries and soda. Price: $14.65 Hot Chicken Sando Meal (#6) -- Taste: chicken was juicy, good flavor, bite messy you definitely need napkins lol. Size: average (normal size for most chicken sandwiches at restaurants). Served with fries and a soda. Price: $14.65 BBQ Chicken Club Meal (#7) -- Taste: was a thin grilled chicken breast with good flavor, definitely mess so have napkins lol. Size: average (normal size for most burgers at restaurants). Served with a side of fries and a soda. Price: $16.50 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Paid $65 which wasn't bad for what you got. Great food and an even better price! Came here as a pit stop during a road trip and everyone enjoyed their food. We tried the hamburger, cheeseburger, hot chicken sando, salad, fries, and shake of the day. It tasted fresh and even though it's structured like a fast food restaurant, it's much better--you can tell there was some care put into the burgers. The interior has cute decorations and had plenty of seating when we went on a Friday evening. The staff at the front was friendly and our food came out in under 10 minutes. read more

Terrible experience the staff was so mean and inexperienced I ordered the meals for my whole family six people and they only made three combos so when they brought out my food we were missing three drinks and three french fries so I went to the front and told them my problem. The gentleman at the register told me get back in line and the line was 30 minute wait so by the time I got out of line and ate my burger it was frozen cold very unprofessional. If they know they're gonna be busy they should put better staff and more staff. I honestly think that they try too hard to be like In-N-Out Burger, which they are not even one percent like In-N-Out Burger no uniforms disgusting dirty place I do not recommend it for my worst enemy. read more

It's great. It's a good burger good chicken sandwich. It's not just the basic stuff that you would get at home. The potatoes are real potatoes. Only downside, I would say a buck, buck 50 more than I would like to pay. The menu is also very basic which I like, think more like In and Out. Huge fan of Nonla - I live in the Detroit area and whenever I visit my Portage friends, we usually get Doordash from this location, like we did tonight. I usually get a combo with root beer, a single hamburger (Nonla Way), and fries. I can't do spicy so I have to take the jalapenos off, for Nonla Way toppings - unfortunately there's no way to specify that on Doordash. I get the fries plain (you can get those Nonla Way too) but we always order lots of Nonla sauce for dipping. Today, unfortunately, they included their spicy ranch for dipping instead - it was still tasty but not what we ordered. Overall I love Nonla though and will definitely be ordering from them again - just wish they had the option to add special instructions for delivery orders, like no jalapenos. read more

Someone recommended this place as the knock-off of California's In-N-Out and I say they were pretty spot on. Their burgers were made fresh and had that thousand island/secret sauce. The fries here are soooo much better than In-N-Out's, and I liked the small kick from the thin jalapeno slices on their Nonla fries. I also tried their Nonla Wings, fried chicken wings/drumsticks with a hot honey fish sauce. The chicken was fried well and super crispy, but the sauce wasn't what I expected. I've had fish sauce flavored wings before at a Vietnamese restaurant and the fish sauce flavor was a lot more prominent. The Nonla Wings were just sweet and savory and didn't have a noticeable amount of fish sauce. Overall, I'd come back again for their burger and fries. The wings were okay so I may get it again once they rotate the flavors. I'll also note that this place has a casual fast food environment inside, most people were here for to-go as there were only 5-6 tables inside. read more

Nonla Burger was decent. The hot chicken was as labeled. Freshly fried and juicy. My sister got the namesake burger which had a raw onion steak on it the likes of which I'd never seen before. They just plopped an eighth of an onion on that bun and didn't look back. The restaurant itself was kinda boring, but they had a patio on a hot day, which was nice. Not much to look at but a parking lot when you're there, but what can you ask for in this day and age. The staff was friendly and helpful. Refills are free too. There hasn't been anything I haven't liked about NonLa Burger yet. Except that it's not closer to my house! The daily specials they run are such a treat as well as the unknowing of what shake they have for the day. With the regular menu you always know what you're gonna get, but those specials are an extra little burst of happiness! If you haven't ordered fries NonLa way yet, you must do so. My In-N-Out fix when I can't make it back to the best coast! The co-owners are from killa cali so they know what's up. This location is much larger than the 1st location - more seating, definitely way more parking. While I've had a couple of the daily specials, salads and the chicken sandos -- I usually go for the simple hamburger (NB #3 - HAMBURGER MEAL - $9 Hamburger with handcut fries and a pop.) The simplicity of the burger is key -- 2.7oz certified angus beef patty on a white bun with lettuce, tomato, onion and our Nonla spread. Their fries are pretty legit here (aka better than OG In-N-Out's!) I mean they said it took over 2 years to perfect. They're pretty tasty! For vegan folks, they have a Beyond burger here but I haven't tried it. read more

My husband wanted to go to Kalamazoo for a quick trip and we needed food while there. Jim being the burger lover he is, Nonla Burger quickly became our destination. The simple menu and decent prices are something that keeps bringing us back. We went thru the drive thru today and it was quick and efficient. The other location I don't think has a drive thru (or it didn't when we went), so it was nice to be able to not even get out of the car to grab our food. My hubby knew he wanted food for now and later, so he got 3 nb double burgers with an order of fries while i got a cheeseburger with an order of fries. Our food was amazing and my husband said it reminded him a bit of Shake Shack. His favorite burger in Chicago is the Shake Shack burger, so for him saying it tastes like one is a very high compliment. I am positive we will be back to one of the two locations sooner than later, considering my husband has giving both locations such high compliments. It really is the perfect classic double cheeseburger. The way the two perfectly grilled and seasoned patties cushion a nice slice of onion, it's unreal! It really is perfect because it's so wonderfully assembled that you get every thing (burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato onion, bread, and special sauce) in EVERY bite. We attended the soft opening of Expanded location of the first original Nonla Burger. Better parking and there's room when we order our food. Love the clean and bright decors! I specifically love the design of the light fixture ( lantern). The chairs aren't very comfortable especially the ones that's by the corners. Since the tables are screwed to the walls, we can't move and there's very little space to slide in. Quick suggestion: I personally love and only eat white meat chicken however, there are majority of folks that do not like white meat. Nonla should give an option of either white meat or dark meat for the chicken sandos. That would definitely bring a lot of dark meat eaters to the joint! As for the salad, it was very delicious! However, I'd love to see them serve two sizes . ( small and large) Fries are on point! Pls keep up the great job on having a great service and hospitality! I'm so happy with my experience of Nonla, specially at this branch. The issue of the branch on S Burdick Street was the lack of parking spots and the small size of the restaurant. But here, it's so great to finally enjoy Nonla's burgers. Their burgers are so delicious, we tried the Cheese Burger and the crispy chicken sandwich. They were both so good for a great price ! The Chocolate milkshake was not that good, it was super milky and it wasn't sweet enough.
