I hear back in the day it was good but I can only speak from my experience it was terrible the sauce no flavor the crust didn't have that good yeasty chew it was just a thick bland crust just not flavor whatsoever. read more

Panteras is my favorite pizza! We have tried many different toppings and they were all very good. Not a fancy place, very comfortable and great food. Desert pizza is delicious as is the mozzarella sticks and toasted raviolis. I'm not a fan of their chicken wings only because I like them crispy. Give them a try. I hope you like it! read more

This is one of the few local places where quality of a product really shows. As a new resident we tried this local joint and was not disappointed. Their chicken wings are always consistent and flavorful. When looking for a pizza, their classics are solid. While we've not tried the Hunk, it's always ordered by customers when we visit. This place went down hill so fast after new ownership. We had the buffet and it wasn't like it used to be. They didn't have any of the pasta and wings that they used to. Not the Pantera's I remember. Not a lot of flavor. Taco was just not good. Tried 3 pizza. Family didn't like any. Too bad.

Taco pizza had spaghetti sauce on it. Tasted nothing like taco pizza. They should use beans & taco meat on it to make it more taco like. Sausage pizza & chicken each & bacon was ok too. Very bland taste, needed salt & garlic or anything to add flavor to it! Service was fine. Restaurant was pretty small, but plenty of seating options. read more

I've been eating Panteras pizza for more than 40 years now, and still love it. The closest one to me is a half hour away, and I drive it pretty often. Perfect chewy crust, spicy sauce and great toppings. Just got one today and I look forward to getting one again soon. read more

My mother and I have been discussing coming here for over a year. Finally we decided to make it a Mother's Day weekend exploration and drove about 45mls to get the original style Pantera's with the sausage that looks like rabbit caca. And yes that's how you order it. Mama says out loud "the set up and pizza are just the same as 30yrs ago; Love it." I had to make her wait to take a piece so I could get a pic.... I was rushed. Anyway, we remember the option of italian sausage in the rabbit caca size but it's not available any longer. It's still good though. The Hunk with pork sausage and extra cheese is still very good and feeds an army. Literally made 5 meals out of it. As for the owners and workers. Way over board nice. We entered to friendly service as we were the third ones there at 11:30 on a Saturday; it was packed 30 minutes later. When they noticed we hadn't finished our pizza, they brought us a to go box without asking; owner walked around asked the crowds if their food was good and they wished us safe trip on our way home. Very nice clean place. Will return if the Edwardsville Pantera doesnt have the same sausage. Thanks for a great experience. read more

I grew up eating Pantera's Pizza and it was once the best in town. Since the former owner left, the pizza isn't the same. We hoped there wouldn't be changes, but the sauce is different and the taste has changed. The man that runs this place is very nice and friendly. I wish the pizza had been good but it was subpar at best. The buffet was cold and we had to wait awhile for them to bring out hot pizza. I've always loved this place, but we don't get it much anymore since they closed the Maplewood location. But we were in the area already and looking for a dinner treat, and boy did we ever find it here! Not only was the service friendly, prompt, and courteous from the minute we stepped up to the counter, but it continued after we received our pizza. The woman who brought our pizza out apologized before she even placed it on the table that they had made it wrong and were already making us another one! This wasn't a small thin crust pepperoni we're talking about - this was their combo pizza served "hunk" style with double toppings and cheese! We were shocked, but honestly we needed a break because we've been going through some hard life situations lately. Finally something went our way! THIS is the style of pizza St. Louis should be famous for - not that burnt cracker crust with canned tomato paste and sliced white cheese you take the cellophane off of first that St. Louisans wrongly call "pizza"... I wish there were as many places to get Pantera's in town as there are that other slop-on-a-square-pan abomination. But the next time we're in the area, we won't need to wonder what we're having for dinner! read more

Panteras delivers consistently, every since I first tried it in the 1980's, it still is among the best in St Louis. They even still have the hunk (it's not quite what it used to be, but still strong and worth the extra) - how can you not like a pizza that weighs 12lbs! From all meats to supreme to just plain pepperoni or cheese, they are all good. What separates them is there crust, they still make crust the way it should be made, not to thick, not to thin. Perfect to fold over, although not truly a New York still, maybe a little thicker. If you have never tried it, it's worth the drive. For sure in the top tier of St Louis Area Pizza. read more

I started going to the OFallon Panteras location in summer of 1984 with my parents, since they were the only place to get beer due to the blue laws. As a teen I worked at Pham's which was across the plaza and went into Pantera's nightly to spend my tips. Al may not have been the owner then, but he is still there providing great service and great pizza. I have had New York by the slice, Chicago deep dish and St Louis favorites and probably every chain pizza know to man. If you want to do Panteras right, I suggest strongly the Hunk Combo. Eat it there. Hot and served to your table or preferably for me, one of the coveted booths. The hunk is by far my favorite but I enjoy the original crust combo as well. If the combo is not your thing, build your own hunk. I do not get a chance to do the lunch buffet often, but if I am on town during lunch hours, I stop by. For me, and I am not a paid critic, if you like the pizza, you will come back and see Al. And on another note, my family likes Pantera's so much, Al made us 24 pizzas for a wedding rehearsal dinner. read more

Wow. This was my childhood pizza. After moving out to STC and years of saying to myself "I'm getting Pantera's" I finally did it. Still amazing! Met the owner and he was awesome, had a good conversation about the business. It's a shame that this once great dynasty was taken down by national chains. These guys are like the rhinos of pizza. Only a few left in the world and majestic as f#%$! Anyone who says STL doesn't have great pizza needs to try this place. I grew up on this restaurant and as a kid it was awesome. Fast forward to today at age 50 and it was as good if not better than what I remembered. The management and staff at the O Fallon Missouri location not only are extremely friendly but very attentive through the whole dine in experience. I'm lucky to have this restaurant in my neighborhood. If you at are unsure if it is worth your drive, then take my advice a a leap of faith and journey here. We were passing through today and stopped in for lunch. Lunch buffet was only 10 bucks for adults and less for kids. Pizza is average to good depending on what style you like. I prefer imos and the ones here were thicker and more substantial but all depends on what you want. But also on the buffet they have wings fries and onion rings. Salad bar looked fresh but I didn't get anything off it. Wish they had fresh brewed tea. Service was super friendly wouldn't of ever guest that in St. Louis.
