My husband and I live in West Springfield and were in the mood for Thai but didn't feel like driving far. I remembered there was a Thai place in Burke so we decided to check it out after reading the raving reviews. We were not disappointed. It was a Friday, so the place was packed. We had to wait about 15 mins. for a table which was no biggie. We ended up ordering shrimp pad thai and green curry with chicken. Both were very good, esp. the curry dish. They didn't hold back on the spicy which was great. The pad thai had a nice sweetness to it. The service was friendly and the decor of the place is modern but comfortable. We can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. I'm so happy we have a quality Thai place in the 'burbs! Enjoy :) read more

My wife and I went here for our date night. We have three kids so we no kidding have a date night once a week. If we did not have this I think we would never go on a date. So, we do ... anyways, we decided on this place because when we always drove by it looked full. This place is authentic and it is amazing that a place like this is succeeding so well out in the suburbs (Burke has a suprising number of solid independent resteraunts). The food was excellent. Dishes start at $10 which I find amazing. The service was even better then the food. They were totally attentive. You could take family to this place or a date. I have been going to Panisa Thai since the restaurant opened and I'm a huge fan...I am one of those people that always seem to get the same thing at certain restaurants and my repeat dishes are the padseeuw (sp?) with beef, chicken or tofu, pad Thai with chicken and padrama with shrimp which are really delicious. (Who doesn't love it when you walk in the restaurant and the manager greets you by your first name as a regular customer for dine in or for takeout). I have also enjoyed the drunken noodles. I have had a few misses once I strayed from my favorites so I continue to order my favorites every week. read more

The service was impeccable. The food even better. We started with the Kanom Jeab which were the tastiest dumplings. We had Tom Yum and Tom Ka soups which were fantastic. We ate here for the first time yesterday. What a great Thai place! We were both very impressed with the food and the service. My four year old son loved it as well. We had several appetizers and they came out quickly and steaming hot. Some of them were fried and the batter was so fresh. The menu has many choices -- but not too many that makes you wonder how they keep up the ingredients on hand and fresh. The decor was nice too. It is a small place but you can tell they take pride in how they look and how they cook. We will be back often. read more

The food is fresh, fairly authentic, portions are a little small, but consistent with the prices of their weekday lunch specials. However.....service....terrible. After the food was brought, the waitress never returned. No water, no nothing. My tip reflected the poor service. If this restaurant is to survive, it needs to improve its service, as their other Thai restaurants in the area that are competitive. read more

It's good enough if you are craving Thai and don't want to travel far. But I've definitely had better. Everything is a bit on the sweet side, and it's like their missing some kind of complexity. We ordered tom yum soup, cellophane noodle salad, red curry chicken. And the drunken noodles with tofu. Two thumbs up for the drunken noodles. Meh on everything else. I'll be back for them noodles, for sure. From the reviews it seems they are hit or miss depending on which dishes you get. So next time I'll just pick from what everyone else reviewed as tasty. I feel lucky to have a good Thai restaurant in the neighborhood, but I do think Panisa Thai is pricey and the dinner portions are on the small side. The food is solid, though, and I enjoy their appetizer soups, drunken noodles, green curry, noodle soups - pretty much everything I have tried. Their lunch specials are a great deal, if you find yourself in the area during lunch time. My favorite lunch special is the minced chicken with basil and chilies. Just had birthday celebration here for my Mom's 90th birthday, again in Panisa Thai's semi-private party room. They were super nice to us, and the service was excellent. Everyone thought the food was even better than when we were all here for my Dad's birthday. We sampled most of the appetizers, as well as a Larb Gai.
