It was a giant mash of egg, bacon, no cheese that I could discern (??? Big bummer), a thick layer of starchy French fries, tomatoes, and a layer of warm cabbage (what?? I went to see a show and their outdoor patio is simply beautiful. They have a cool stage setup and the vibe was mellow and chill. My server was really good (except he forgot part of my order but we all make mistakes). He was polite and took good care of us. My son (being addicted to vegetables) loved his chicken salad and I thoroughly enjoyed my cauliflower "wings". It's a little pricey so it's not a place I will go to often, but for the right band I'll definitely head there again. read more

The experience at paninis on 11/22/25 was not a great one. The server we had was absent for most of our meal. The only time we saw him was when we flagged him down 2-3 times for refills or issues. Music was playing so loud the server couldn't even hear us. For apps, we ordered the pretzel sticks and pickle chips. The pretzels came out fine but the pickle chips (keyword chips) did not. The pickle chips came out as fried spears which was not what the menu states. Regardless we were not going to make a big deal. When the entrees came out, our pizza came out raw in the center which was not noticed until 2 slices in. At that point we stopped eating the pizza. The grilled cheese came out under cooked (Soggy bread and unmelted cheese in the center). The food runner spilled Italian dressing all over a member of the party and didn't apologize. We flagged down the server to check out because we were over it. Our main gripe was the raw pizza dough. Brought up all the issues we had. He said he had to talk to his manager since we had eaten the food. Told us we need to bring up issues before we eat. Manager didn't come out to speak with us and the server comped only the fried pickle chips/pickle spears. Gave us attitude while checking out. TLDR: Wouldn't recommend Westlake Paninis due to horrible service, raw food, and overall unpleasant atmosphere. read more

Worked at the OG Panini's downtown on 9th, from 2004-2011/12 ish. Its been years since I had a sammy. The sandwich hit, just like I remembered. I got a turkey/salami no fries, light slaw add bacon. Great Lakes Mexican beer to wash it down. Wasnt disappointed. The space is big. Has a volleyball court out back. Big space inside. All wood decor. Just had dinner at the Westlake location. They are 5 minutes from our house so that is how I justify going here about once a year. The wait staff never know the details of the menu, and you have to expect to wait for a long time for your drinks and a very long time for your food. Every time I go I soon remember why I only eat here maybe once a year. The waitress blames the bartender for the long wait for drinks and the food doesn't come as ordered. The people at the next table were there before us and were still waiting for their food when we received ours. My recommendation is just drive by this place and go somewhere else, the location is great but beware you are going to be here waiting for a while for everything. Looks like there is a high turnover for the staff. Maybe I will try again in 2026. read more

Went last night for the Boaterhead concert. Band was great - except for the noise level of people yelling and talking so loud - not even paying attention to the band at all. Felt bad for our server! She was great. The hostess people and managers did NOT know how what they were doing!! Reserved tables, no-shows, empty tables, AND people waiting waiting for hours for tables. There were picnic tables with NO reserved signs on them - but didn't want to seat us there because we were only 2 people. (I argued, they did) Saw people getting kicked off picnic tables that people were willing to share! Do the understand what message they're sending to customers? We've been going to Panini's in Westlake on Father's Day for the past several years. This Father's Day was a HUGE disappointment! First... we needed 2 tables for 8 and out of the sun as much as possible. The hostess started taking us out to 2 tables just outside the doors to the patio on the right and in full sun. I noticed 2 tables open, on the far left, in complete shade, and asked if we could please have those 2 tables. The hostess gave us some lame excuse... "No, because those tables have 2 different servers, and she didn't want to confuse (stress) them." Really?!! We had to sit separately anyway. Why couldn't 2 servers be used?! Then we had a first server introduce herself as "Gabby," who took our drink orders. Those finally came, and she told us, "I'll be leaving, so you will be having another server. I have separated all the drink tabs for her." Hmmm, that DID NOT happen. We get the 2nd server - not a clue what her name was - she did not introduce herself. She took another set of drink orders and then said, "Now, who's tab belongs to who?" We mentioned to her that "Gabby" told us she separated everything for her. She was completely lost, so we had to break it all down for her. It was not a huge deal, but it was apparent the 1st server was more interested in leaving her shift. Now the food.... 2 out of the 8 were pretty satisfied; so it's not a bad percentage. However, the 2 who were not satisfied ordered the "Hot Italian". These BOTH came out burnt and dried out to a crisp, hoagie bread. When they cut the sandwich in 2 halves, it was very hard to cut the bread and was a bunch of crumbs! Both were extremely dry and burnt taste, and the meat also was all over cooked, with very crisp, burnt edges. I wouldn't have served these 2 sandwiches to my worst enemy! I'm pretty sure 2025 Father's Day we will be going elsewhere. read more

Paninis on Clague is my go-to lunch spot. I've been here I don't know 857,000 times. Nice outdoor bar always has the hot friendly barmaids. Couple bud lights & the thin crust pepperoni or overstuffed sandwich. They're good albeit unhealthy but hey we can't all be monks. I'm sure the other items are decent but over the years the food was so up & down I punted on everything else. Today the corned beef overstuffed & it was good. I took the other half home. When will I eat it who knows I have plans tonight but hey life is short. **update, couple hrs after I got home I got the sweats, headache, sour stomach. Something didn't agree with me** It's crowded some nights w the volleyball crowd. It's a cool place unless it's raining. Sitting inside in the nice weather is for sucks. Inside is really nice now they did a major demo in there & she needed it. It's either the sanitation plant next door or the dumpster but if the wind is blowing u get an occasional whiff of it. Update!!! Shame on me! Returned 10 months later as I thought maybe just maybe they may have gotten a clue. NOT a chance!!! Rolled in at around 4pm on a Friday for some food. The thought of a nice panini seemed like a good idea and there is no way they could not have gotten their shit somewhat together. NOPE! It was seat yourself so grabbed a booth near the bar. Not a ton of people in there with the exception of the usual "Bigots for Trump" chapter meeting at the bar. Not an issue as overhearing some of their heartwarming tales of how the country is a shithole filled with communists is always amusing. The bartender was too busy talking to her friend to maybe tell one of the wait staff that they had customers at a table. Don't get me wrong all the Trump supporters were getting great service but for us at the table no luck. 10 minutes in I had enough and walked out without even a hello, we will be with you in a minute , nothing. Never again and I hope they go out of business they deserve it! Too bad for them I know for a fact that I would have tipped triple of the collective Trump assholes. We were there an hour and a half to see our waitress 4 times. I do understand that they are short staffed as they have a sign posted but when you sit at a table that the server has to walk by everytime she gets a drink for the patio tables (which she should not have indoor tables!) and does not acknowledge you is irritating. We ordered 3 appetizers in which 2 had to go back because they were not even warm. We kept a menu because we were going maybe order more stuff but after waiting and not having her stop by they lost the sale! I did order to go which was a simple wrap that took forever to get and it is a cold wrap to boot. Never was asked if I wanted another beer plus only got 1 refill on pop. I also do not understand why this restaurant has seating for the bar!!! Especially since the bar was emptying out and the one bartender was able to stand and talking to friends that came in!!! The other bartender did most of the work while we were there. They could have had tables around the bar. This particular Panini's has gone down over the last few years. Service at this place sucks. Bartenders are not friendly. Food takes longer than average to come out. Wings took a good 25-30 mins and were cold on 2 different occasions. Been to this place 4-5 times now and its been about the same. People that work here don't look like they want to be there. Not sure if its a management issue, understaffing or what. Ive tried to cheer the bartenders up because they look so uninterested in their jobs. May be the biggest paninis ive been to, but worst moral and sub par service. Good experience overall and a nice spot in the summer time to meet up with friends for a couple drinks outside. The menu isn't chock full of amazing culinary masterpieces but everyone in our party enjoyed the food they were served. My buffalo chicken wrap hit the mark and I'd order it again. Only not so great part was the understaffed bar for a Friday night. They could use an extra hand back there during peak hours. Drizzled with tzatziki sauce and topped with fresh tomato, onion, shredded lettuce. Served on a brioche bun. I did in fact have it but he was to busy grabbing my shirt from behind me and pushing me out. I showed my ID after and when i asked for a reimbursement, I was laughed at. The people here are trash. I was happy when it closed in 2014 so i didn't bother making a review but i seen recently it was up and running so i want to inform everyone of the crappy leadership and service and STRONGLY suggest to stay away. I dont need a response from these fools about how sorry they are. I just don't want people to have the same disregard of human decency as i did.
