First of all, I would like to compliment your server Bridget for being super friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant and entrees. She made a not so pleasurable experience pleasurable!! When we were first seated at your restaurant for breakfast, we waited for 30 minutes, I must point out lots of tables open for people to sit at. Some were cleaned and some had multiple dishes piled up on the tables. But, we waited patiently for a seat- only to be sat way in the back in the enclosed patio part (not sure what that area is technically called back there) it was extremely loud from families with children screaming and crying and we were sat at a table across from where you have dog bowls with water in it. The whole area just smelled like wet dog and the noise was too loud. We asked our server at that time if we could be moved and she was very nice about it and expressed how she was Sorry that it was very noisy back there this morning and did not blame that we wanted to be moved. She brought us back up to the hostess area and explained to them about having us sit at a different table. It appeared as if the three other people that were standing around by the hostess area seemed confused as to why we wanted another table, we then were sat right by the bathrooms. Again, this was irritating as to why would they move us at the table right next to the bathrooms when there were plenty other tables that were empty for us to sit at. I asked to be sat at a different table and if that could not be accommodated, I wanted to speak to a manager. Your staff seemed a bit irritated but after about 5 minutes they sat us at a different table.... And then we met our lovely server Bridget!! I will say that our food was very good along with our drinks. We do come to your establishment quite often, and will continue to do so. Food was average at best. Service was slightly below average. Not bad, just average. The disappointing part is in every hot beverage they put two plastic straws in the cup. Every table has actual silverware to mix their drink, but instead they put the straws in hot water which leaches chemicals into the hot water. Was looking for breakfast on Saturday morning. Used the waitlist feature on the website, it said the wait was about 10-20 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant and was seated promptly in the high top section by the bar. My party and I waited 20 minutes before we opted to leave. We were not greeted, acknowledged, or even given an inclination that we would served. There were two staff members in the bar area, I assume bartender and server. Both seemed friendly, to each other. We came in early morning and we had your average diner experience. It was dead silent, which was kind of awkward if you're into vibes. It took us a while for us to be seated as the waitstaff was still filing in - I think it took them a moment for them to see us there lol. Our waitress was rather quiet and not super welcoming, but she got the job done and asked us if we needed refills. As for the food, I thought the portions were rather filling and generous, and as someone who can stomach a whole lot, it definitely was a filling breakfast. The food every time I go is delicious, the specialty food times change often and cater to the sweet and savory lovers. The coffee is always on point and the staff is always super nice. Horrible service - The waitlist is inaccurate and the staff is completely unhelpful. We joined the waitlist with a 40 to 55 minute wait, checked in with 30 minutes left and were told we would get a text in 15-20. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a restaurant chain that has locations in many states. This particular location is in the Crocker Park shopping center. Please see my attached photos for the restaurant's menus for foods and beverages in May 2024. On a Friday morning, I joined this restaurant's online waitlist, but when I arrived, I saw that most tables were empty. A seating hostess kindly greeted my husband and me and promptly seated us at a booth. Our friendly waitress arrived and gave us menus. Several minutes later, the waitress took our order, and several minutes after that, she brought out our foods. At the end of the meal, she promptly brought our bill. Here are my ratings for our foods: Biscuit beignets - 4 stars - This side looked like fried donuts that were covered with powdered sugar. They were accompanied by a small container of honey. Cinnamon-roll French toast - 4 stars - This entree looked like a few cinnamon rolls that were topped with rum-butter sauce, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and whipped cream. For my sides, I chose sunny-side-up eggs, which were cooked perfectly, and bacon, which was crispy. Apple-fritter French toast - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree. It consisted of fritters that were layered with fried apples, a bourbon cream, and powdered sugar. (He requested no blueberries.) For his sides, he chose scrambled eggs and sausage. I was in the area and wanted to try a restaurant for breakfast. The first thing I noticed was how clean and bright this place was. There was no wait when I arrived and I was greeted immediately. I was seated and looked at the menu. There were so many good options, and I decided on the lemon pound cake French toast. It was complete with an infused whipped cream and fresh strawberries and blackberries on it. I had the option of baked bacon or homemade sausage. I couldn't decide, so my server suggested one of each. The food was so delicious. I could taste the herbs in the sausage. The bacon was baked to perfection, and I liked the fruit. The egg was fine. We were visiting and stopped in for an early breakfast as they were opening Saturday. The server was very nice and made a few suggestions that I ultimately selected. I can not remember the name but it was an inlet stuffed with cream cheese and topped with house chirizo. The cream cheese calmed down the heat of the chorizo. Served with a side, I chose the house grits. Service started out great but as the restaurant filled up, our server was the only one on the floor. Naturally he didn't have time to check on us and I really needed a drink refill. Food 5 Ambiance 5 Service started as a 5 dropped to a 2. My friend got the fruit and that was the only thing that was good. Also they chased us out when we had barely finished eating. Instead of mopping the empty side of the dining room, they started right behind us so we had to leave hastily. And they had just mopped the entrance and I was very afraid of falling. The staff couldn't seat us together, were putting us at 3 tables by each other with 3 separate servers, which was not a big deal. I sat in the bar area and was immediately greeted. I started with a cold brew coffee with caramel flavor. It was perfect! I wish every ice coffee I get from now on taste that good. This was the first mention of any delay, delivered offhandedly and without empathy or accountability. Shortly afterward, she brought over a complimentary order of fried beignets--perhaps as a peace offering--but it felt more like a reactive gesture than a sincere attempt to make amends for the long wait and growing dissatisfaction. Our server's demeanor further detracted from the experience. When my mother-in-law respectfully asked about the delay, the response was, "Well, you should know it's Mother's Day." The remark came off as dismissive and unnecessarily condescending. A little empathy--or even basic acknowledgment--would have gone a long way. Pause: Honestly, the waitress is lucky to still have all her teeth, given how fiery my mother-in-law can be and even more so when she's hangry and disrespected. We appreciated that act of attentiveness, though unfortunately, it wasn't enough to redeem the rest of the afternoon. In summary, while the food showed promise and the kitchen clearly has talent, the lack of communication, order errors, and dismissive service made the experience more stressful than enjoyable.
