This is the second time I have been to the Panera bread on South avenue in boardman. I had one the WKBN contest and had free Panera bread coupon which I used but my boyfriend's pick two came to 20 some dollars!! There were no napkins in the dispensers and no paper towels in the bathroom and all of the employees were just standing around doing absolutely nothing. The one guy that was in fact moving kept passing by our table repeatedly looking in the trash and then pacing the room going back several times. It was really awkward. We will not ever be back! I've given up on this location- my order is always either wrong or they are out of something big, like cups. They were out of large cups when I was there but instead of telling me, after I paid they handed me two small cups and told me to fill both. They are also out of ingredients like avocado quite a bit. I've gotten the wrong food 3/5 times I've been here as well. The employees that I have interacted with seem to have no idea what they are doing. Maybe they have many new ones but then ask- don't continuously give the wrong order or not give a pastry because you can't find a box. I can't believe management hasn't been changed as many issues as this location has. I love Panera and have no problems at all with any other location but this one...it's baffling how bad it is. read more

My husband & I had sandwiches while at Cleveland Clinic at their Panera location. He had the Bravo bacon turkey & I had almond chicken salad sandwich. They were both awesome & loaded but a bit pricey for just a sandwich & apple! A few days ago we went to the Austintown drive thru & ordered the same. It wasn't worth our money at all. My chicken salad was such a small amount I mostly tasted lettuce, tomato & bread. I was very disappointed!!! Will not return for sandwiches again!!! read more

This Panera has a better layout and design compared to other locations. It's beautiful and cozy inside with lots of space between tables and the front ordering area for a quiet, peaceful dining atmosphere. Last night my boyfriend and I decided to grab dinner here and I was disappointed with the lack of bagel and cream cheese selections. Almost every flavor of bagel and cream cheese was sold out. We ended up getting two bagels and a large salad to split. I highly recommend the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad! It's in season and available around spring/summer time. As I've already mentioned, the dining atmosphere was perfect! Bathrooms could use some updating/remodeling though. Staff members were nice and friendly. Food was pretty good other than lack of selection and it was consistent with the food of other locations. Overall, I would recommend the Austintown Panera. Ordered through the drive thru which is a great feature. Problem is, they have now gotten my order wrong twice & I didn't notice till I got home. Called this time to complain about two missing items, they took my name and said I could pick them up next time with a free pastry. I'm fine with that response. I used to love Panera, it was my go- to for good, wholesome food fast. That was then-this is now. The restaurant used to be spotless...I mean clean and I'm a clean freak. Now, not so much. I used to be able to order my food and it was waiting when I arrived, not now. I have to wait. But I thought the point of the pre-order is so that I don't have to wait? I also enjoy certain sandwiches that contain certain types of breads, but inevitably they're always out of tomato bread for the Bacon Turkey Bravo. It isn't the same without it. 2nd time I've been here (austintown Ohio) in two weeks. The first time I got the complete wrong order but didn't realize until I was too far to go back. I forget what they gave me but there was stuff on it I didn't like so after picking everything off I ended up with less than half a cold sandwich. Tonight I went through and only got a cinnamon roll and asked to get it heated. Got down the road and stopped to eat it-ice cold and hard. All Paneras taste the same, it's good. Staff is friendly and quick.The atmosphere is nicer than most in the area, much cozier. It's a nice one to get coffee or lunch at and meet with a client or get some work done. I enjoyed going here as a college student to work on homework. read more

Why oh why do they have kids waiting on customers ? I stopped in tonight for a sweet treat while the young man was ringing me up a quick coworker had boxed up the treat. The only problem with that was I look forward to choosing my sweet treat as I treat myself about every 6 months. Needless to say the young man had rung up the wrong treat and the young woman had boxed the wrong treat. As I was choosing my treat I noticed the price was 20 cents less. When the young woman did not offer me the refund I had to ask. I say all this to say I have been very wary of this place since on take out I was served Chicken noodle soup with no noodles. The last four times we ordered carry out, the cashiers looked at us dumbfounded about the order; they can never seem to locate it. The staff was friendly, patient and prompt. My party ordered a couple pick 2, bear claw, coffee, and a loaf of tomato basil bread. We also pick up bagels here regularly every other week. All the baked goods are excellent. Other foods such as the turkey chili and chipotle avocado chicken sandwich were mediocre and bland. Staff is always friendly and most of the time they are really quick too- even during the busy lunch rush. Occasionally I get a lag when it comes to speed of drink orders, but that's typically because there's only one person making drinks and they can get bogged down in a rush. All the food is fresh and tastes wonderful. I really enjoy their new chicken soba noodle bowl. It's amazing with such great flavor. I am disappointed that they've taken a lot of items off their menu recently however, including the french onion soup and most of the paninis. read more

We stopped into this location a few days ago while we were in town over the holidays to meet up with some friends for lunch. This Panera is relatively standard, and as you'd expect a Panera location to be. The food we had was good (I had the Fuji Apple Chicken salad and broc/cheese soup while my husband had the chipotle chicken avocado panini and the tomato soup. The panini is one of our favorite things on the menu! So delicious!) The ambiance is very nice with there fire going on cold days and there's always a few coffee choices. They could give a little more attention to the cleanliness of the restrooms, but overall it was a great time and we ended up spending a couple hours there chatting. I stopped in this location yesterday for dinner. It was Veterans day and they were busy but not unusual for a Friday night. I just wanted to applaud the staff, they never missed a beat. While the preparation staff pushed out orders, the manager was on the pick up side double checking orders and maintaining a smooth process. I want to single out Macy the cashier, she was so pleasant and collected. I visit this location often and thank them for continously providing great food and service. It's disappointing that they took away potato soup on Saturdays. They have it on Mondays and Wednesdays and always sell out. You would think they would make more and serve it more often if they are always running out of it. I used to like going to Panera, but their food and service continues to decline. Their bagels taste like baked bread, not the texture of a true bagel. They have reduced the size of their servings. Getting your order correct is another issue they have at this location. I have decided to stop going to Panera, only as a last resort. read more
