Food is always good. Though their Italian bread has changed a little bit. Their soup and sandwich combination is the best meal deal.

1st time at Panera in 10+ years when they first got started in Manhattan. Really 3 1/2 stars: efficient service, large clean store and wood tables to eat, bright with good lighting, contemporary Muzak, nice clean rest rooms. A nice place to grab lunch with a work colleague. Tried the TV advertised spicy steak Asiago bagel stacker ($7.99 with 1 oz chips) Mixed reviews: sandwich was spicy, steak is just cheesesteak chipped with a spatula- heavily marinated beef - tender but way too salty. Asiago cheese and arugula was melted nicely highlighted on a pretty good airport quality bagel. Medium Pepsi soda at $3.39 is ridiculously expensive. Lucky you can refill without being questioned. For $12.33 total with tax, I doubt I will be back unless I'm in the area. read more

PSA - Only a takeout review. Did not sit down to eat. Service was a bit of a mess. They were nice, but takeout orders were called up without being ready, and some meals were swapped. Paying $6.52 for a children's grilled cheese that is way too big for them to even eat was a waste. It was also burnt. The tables were dirty. This location is way bigger inside than it looks on the outside but honestly a total waste of time. Usually love Panera but this one is easily the WORST I've ever been to. The food is always wrong and the service is absolutely horrible. I swear they hired people that can't read or something. It's the only one near us so we always give it another chance and they never fail get it wrong. I think 90% it's completely wrong and the other 10% they're at least close to the order. read more

When it comes to fast-ish food options, Panera is one of my favorite spots. Granted I don't make it to one as often as I used to, but I always appreciate the fact that it's relatively easy to choose a healthy option. Plus, their dining rooms are spacious and predispose one to sit for a while and get work done. A few of my colleagues and I were feeling Panera for lunch the other day, so we decided to place an order. Since the Panera in downtown White Plains closed, this is the sole location in the city. Selection is typical of other Paneras - my go-to us is usually the you pick two where I get half a sandwich with soup or a salad (their chicken apple salad with that special dressing is one of my favorites). Today, though, I opted just for a salad (summer is coming), and their Asian Sesame one was speaking to me. This was fairly simple - romaine lettuce, sesame seeds, slivered almonds, wonton strips, cilantro, chicken, and a vinaigrette (okay maybe not so simple). The salad was good - the full size is a generous portion and all the components complemented each other well. Panera gets a solid 3 from me - the food was solid but there was nothing extraordinary about the experience. Stopped here for breakfast with friends. Easy to order either at the kiosk upon entry or at the counter. Very spacious for inside seating. Once your order is ready, pick up to go or dine in. Staff was friendly and service was pretty quick. Not crowded at all given spacious seating. Plenty of food options to choose from and wow, look at the assortment of bread, bagels, and pastries. Panera is a nice option as far as fast food goes. If you're craving carbs and cheese, they probably have what you're looking for in some form. They are basically a better version of a classic soup/salad/sandwich place. In recent years, I think they've put a lot of effort into adding new menu items. For instance, they now offer flatbread pizzas. I tried the margarita and it was surprisingly good with a nice crispy crust. I also love their Greek salad which is always fresh and has a great, tangy dressing. The broccoli mac and cheese is also yummy and very filling. Most of the entrees come with a free choice of an apple, chips, or bread. The bread is a French baguette and is very crusty and satisfying, especially with soup. Today, I came to try the grilled mac and cheese sandwich. The pictures make it look delicious. It was pretty good, but didn't totally rock my world. The bread is a little too crusty, which makes it tough to get a nice, satisfying bite. The mac and cheese itself could use a little more flavor. Perhaps sharper cheese. Panera also offers a wide variety of baked goods including scones, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and other pastries. I enjoyed their chocolate chip cookie, which had nice big chunks of chocolate and was the perfect balance of chewy and crunchy. This restaurant is located in a big shopping center so there is lots of parking. They have high top tables in the front and a ton of extra seating in the back. Service was fast. read more

Not even in my wildest dreams did I think I'd eat at a Panera......again. That's just me. We'd gone to Panera on Main St- in downtown White Plains years ago and had an off experience with the vibe, service and what have you. I thought, that was the end of it. This Panera on Tarrytown Rd. (located a couple doors down from DSW at the Crossroads Shopping Center), came to these neck of the woods about 1- maybe 2 months ago and didn't think much of it until hubby got Lunch to go. According to him, place is well-kept and not a hair out of place- plus service was pleasant. No....I'm not a Panera convert- but will say, the Mac & Cheese was slamming! The thing is good on its own. But for me, all that sucker needs is to be doctored up with like Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops- something that I can whip up quick to give the Mac more substance and an extra bite worth sinking my teeth into. Mediterranean Veggie (Whole) Sandwich was totally impressive: paper-thin Red Onions, dressed Greens, Peppers, the Feta, Hummus on like a tomatoish-slice bread. I ordered the food to be delivered, so nothing about ambience. I must say that the food was delivered in a pretty great timetable. It took about 20 minutes and I got my food and it was delicious. Genuinely, the manager at this location just made my night. I originally ordered delivery on grubhub for my sick partner at home to which the driver apparently picked up and kept? Claimed the restaurant refused to make it which they very much did not. Just a total headache. So I called and explained I would be coming in to place the order again and grab it myself. The manager was incredibly apologetic for something that was in no way their fault and once hearing about my partner being sick, upgraded his soup to a larger size and threw in a free pastry! I've been to many Panera Bread stores but this location is the best so far. The place is clean and the service is fast. Staffs are somewhat friendly and very generous because they did put extra items exactly as I requested, and that made me very happy! The food I ordered is fresh and tasty. I ordered You Pick Two and got Half Green Goddess Cobb Salad with Chicken and Half Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich. I couldn't take picture of the sandwich because I was too hungry lol. The service was excellent, the food is super fresh, and the bathroom is spotless. The kiosk machine these days had made ordering process super easy. The store contain 5 machines if I remember correctly. Especially if you are like me, take more than 5 mins to decide what I want to order. The wait for the food is less than 5 mins with a buzzer to alert you that the food is ready. The seating area is spacial, and bright. We ordered a strawberry banana smoothie and Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt sandwich with some customization. Everything came as we expected it, and the apple that came with our sandwich was like fresh picked from the tree on the same day. Even the cucumber we added tasted freshly cut. So we had to give our a quick weekend lunch a 5 stars. The lady who is helping with cleaning the trays by the trash booth was super friendly and greeting each guest with her endless smile and "have a nice day", sometime more than one time with the same guest. This Panera runs out of things on a daily basis. Today, you couldn't order online because they were "busy", however, when I arrived there were 4 orders on the screen, including mine. This visit, they didn't have focaccia bread, French baguette or chips. Being that they didn't have 2 out of 3 sides, they decided not to give me anything on the side. After receiving my meal, I had to ask for the LARGE cup that I purchased. I'm guessing the girl behind the counter couldn't be bothered because she gave me a regular sized cup. After checking my receipt to verify that I was charged for a large cup, I had to go back to the register to get what I actually paid for. Then to top it off there was no papaya green tea. The icing on the cake was when I got home and realized that they didn't even give me any utensils. But I do give them kudos for actually giving me my croutons with my tomato soup today. read more

Thumps up for Panera bread. I had ordered several occasions curve-side pick up and they were fast accurate in delivering my order. The staffs were friendly and greet you politely. We did not receive the pastry and cookie but didnt realize it till we got home which is 2 miles away. On the receipt it says to ask for a manager if order isnt correct. She comes out and we tell her what happened. She says ok like we inconvenienced her and gives us our food. No apology. No compensation. This location is up and running, and I must add they are extremely organized. My office placed an order online for lunch today. They asked for a description of the person or vehicle coming to pick up the food (at first I was very taken back by this). Well, we answered and 8 minutes later I arrived to pick up the food. Before I could exit my vehicle a worker wearing a mask brought my order out to my passengers side window of my car... he confirmed the name on the order and I was on my way! Can't say enough GREAT things about the staff here at Panera Bread White Plains and the manager Steve. I go here all the time, especially during Covid. They always are so nice and so helpful. The 1 (and only time ever) my order was slightly incorrect (literally, slightly), Steve the manager made it right and they were nice enough to include a cookie. It's not about the sandwich or the complimentary cookie - it's about really nice and hardworking people. It's not their job to smile and be extremely kind, but let me tell you, they always walk up to our car smiling (with their eyes - mask life). Now we check the order at the location every time and remind them of missing salad and bread or chips. When I went to check, the only person calling out the order numbers and moving the online orders got offended and asked me to wait. After 15 more minutes of waiting I could see my order going cold at the counter and went back to ask. I was still met with an annoyed look and then got my tray of luke warm soup. This Panera just opened up and it's a great addition to the shopping center. The inside is absolutely gorgeous and very clean. You can order by credit card via a kiosk or have a worker help you at the register. You then pick up the food in the back area where there is plenty of seating. Our food came out hot and fresh. Don't expect to get what you've ordered if you order online for pickup. I've been purchasing baked goods and salads from them for well over a year and, thinking if I ordered early in the afternoon they'd have the goods because their website indicates they do, have been disappointed upon arrival to find they "ran out," "didn't get that bread today" ???, or "someone must have picked up your order by mistake." This, along with substitutions I didn't want, has happened 50% of the time during the past year. Problems are: they place your "Rapid PickUp Order" in an open shelf/cabinet where anybody, yes ANYBODY, can lift your PAID order and walk off with it. This is true of most of their stores. So, if you're hungry and broke, just walk in and help yourself to somebody else's PREPAID order! No questions asked! No identity verification needed! Another problem: don't waste your time trying to call the store. You can't. Don't waste your time trying to call the 800 number. Like most businesses today, there's nothing alive at the other end of your call and you'll end up in an interminable loop. This applies to their store on Tarrytown Road. The store in Scarsdale is even more of a nightmare and the employees there aren't even as nice and apologetic when they screw up. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. The people working don't seem to care for any sort of organization or system to distribute food. The line lady was sitting there with several bags of food that were unclaimed and they were doing nothing besides yelling out names in the loud room from way in the back. I sat there for over a half hour waiting for my food, basically took up my whole lunch time and I thought Panera was a quicker option. Will never ever return here it's seriously a waste of time. I usually enjoy the Panera Bread in my hometown, but I went to this one as it was on the way to work. I typically order soup with my meal, but was disappointed to find that they didn't have any ready yet. The hispanic girl with the ponytail took my order. I was sitting there for over half an hour while her and the black girl cutting the bread were eye-ing me. Apparently, they knew something I didn't which I had to find out later by asking for myself where my order was. I'm not from here so obviously everything is run differently at this location. They watched me sit there and didn't even bother to tell me that my food was already ready. I showed up later to work because of their inconsideration. I have never experienced such hate for someone's customers. I hope no one ever has to experience their lack of courtesy. Extremely disappointed. If anything, I suggest going to a different Panera Bread location because the workers here clearly don't care about their customers. read more
