Card only location (no cash accepted) mostly staffed by local college students and most of the patronage also appears to be ODU students, often giving the feel of an off-campus study hall as people read and congregate. Interior is clean. Cups are kept behind the counter unlike many other local Panera locations. The staff can be hit or miss with their knowledge and enthusiasm. The cinnamon toast crunch bagel with egg and cheese was delicious. My caramel hot latte was like I like it with extra caramel. My daughter said her drink was also good but sweet. The service with ladies were very nice. Tiffany, who was our cashier, was very pleasant. The ambience was clean and orderly, especially this time of day during mid breakfast. Check. Your. Bag. Panera has a great receipt with check boxes that staff COULD use to make sure they don't forget anything. But they don't! Why? They seal your bag like they checked it, but it is almost a guarantee that 4 out of 5 times they short you something. I don't get it. Lack of management I guess. I placed an online order for pickup at 10:40a this morning. When I arrived at 10:44, the order was not ready. The order did not end up being ready until 11:09, contrary to the email I received at 10:34 stating my order was ready for pick up. There was further delay when waiting because they made my drinks HOT when I ordered them ICED- clearly stated in the item description. I am VERY disappointed in this experience. Have attempted to do online ordering and curbside pickup several times. The last two times I placed my order and paid online prior to pickup. Both times when I tried to pick my order I was told they had sold out of my selections. They apparently sold my bagels to someone else before I could pick them up!!!! Nothing "rapid" about the location's rapid pick up during weekend breakfast hours. We frequent this location and are thoroughly disappointed in how the staff handled our order this morning. Order was supposed to be done at 9:36am and we didn't have our complete order until 9:49am. Items were forgotten. Very poor service this go round. When I went to place my online order through their easy app / they were out of my two favorite items - kitchen sink cookie and chips. When I went to get my order it was there but felt very light considering I ordered soup. Was starving and I knew they always double check it before they put it out for pickup so I kept going. Before I stepped off sidewalk I noticed my Pick Two with a drink was simply a sandwich only. I went back in and was told they were out of the soup I ordered but instead of holding my order to be sure I spoke to someone they stuck it on the shelf for pickup. I was offered a free replacement item and when I asked why wasn't my drink prepared, she said here's a cup. Uh no- you misunderstand the concept and purpose of Rapid Pickup which includes a cup for drinks. The two star rating is only due to the poorly trained staff. Food is always delicious but I prefer not to wait for food as I hear their staff complaining about how much they hate working there. I tried to order a pound of the chicken salad which I purchase often. The girl started to laugh at me and said "ma'am this isn't a deli". The manager corrected her immediately- in a nice way- but she gave me the death stare anyway as she began telling her co-workers what had just happened. Are the employees there young? Yes, but nothing a little leadership and customer service training couldn't resolve. Oh, please stop slamming trays and bags on the food counter. Sometimes service can get backed up - what do you expect the place is physically mobbed for a reason and this doesn't include the online orders you can't see. if the place was a ghost town and there were no lines - I'd be worried. Great food and service but they never got our order right. I love their food and drinks but they don't get our orders correct.

Panera in general can never get orders correct. My last 3 orders have been missing food. I was asked to sign the receipt, I assume because it was over 50 dollars, saying I received the order. When we got home and unpacked, I was missing bagels and a mac'n'cheese meal. My husband picked up food two nights ago and we paid for $12 of drinks but did not get any of them. After the initial screw up, which cost me $18, I was offered a $10 gift card as they can't refund online orders. I took it and was just perturbed. Now after another $12 mix up, I am done. The food is pricey and average. However it is definitely not worth the extra money you blow when they screw up. read more

While Panera gives off a healthy vibe I I truly feel like it should get an D. I always thought this would be the perfect place for every lifestyle. This is not true. I am sensitive to gluten and thought for sure Panera was the place to go. So I walked up and asked about gluten free foods and they pulled out a beat up old binder. I had to go through the whole binder which were probably 25+ pages long and go line by line to figure out what was gluten-free. Honestly not much of choices. Another family member has a milk allergy also went through the binder not much doesn't have milk in it either. Actually, one time I went I was told that there was absolutely nothing gluten-free. The person was very uninformed and very uneducated. Not a good choice for a chain restaurant.I do not think Panera is all it's wrapped up to be. This Panera has some of the kindest and most professional folks you'll meet. This morning I walked in to find a customer acting in a completely unacceptable manner and putting his finger in the chest of a manager complaining about something unimportant with his coffee. Despite this, the manager was extremely kind and composed, and managed to de-escalate the belligerent man. Shout out to Mike for maintaining an unwavering professionalism, even when dealing with customers who forget about the humanity of others. read more

I stopped here for lunch today only because I knew they had free wi fi. The wi fi worked well, if just a bit slow, but the food was good. I had a you pick two combo including a tomato and mozzarella panini and broccoli cheddar soup. The soup was fantastic, the panini was alright. This is a great alternative to fast food especially if you are eating alone. Tons of people come here to eat in the company of a lap top. read more

Disapointing is the word I would use for my experience. Store was slow so no reason for incorrectly done to go order. Order was missing chip, bread, pickles, plastic ware and nspkins. It never occurred to me to inventory my order, it's Panera. However after dodging the downpour and arriving home this is what we discovered. I understand stuff happens so I called the store. Sadly the mgr response was that if I let them know the next time I'm in they'll "do something to make it right." Ok, well what if you're not there or I'm in other Panera? "Just have them call me." So I'm suppose to carry your number with me, stop a busy line so another Panera can call you, on the hope that you will be there and remember. So not practical. This Panera is always busy.. I mean it's Westminster right. Anyway the store is clean and every employee is usually happy. I finally ordered the Chicken Soba Noodle Bowl today for lunch. It's was good and prob now my go to here even on a hot summer day. Personally I love eating light and this broth bowl accomplishes everything that I need in a lunch meal. This place is a mixed bag. The food being most important, I can say that it is mostly as good as you'd expect from a Panera Bread. I wanted to get breakfast there one day, but arrived five minutes after they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. I was told that they could not make an egg sandwich for me after 10:30. Bit early for lunch. The young woman taking my order helpfully suggested one of the souffles. It was good and that was a good recovery, but it wasn't what I wanted. I had issues on multiple visits. I tried to get a cup of tea. On several occasions, the "hot water" was too cold to make tea. I spoke to one manager who told me that I could microwave it. (Gee, thanks.) On the next visit, I had the same problem, but a somewhat more responsive manager. How lame do you have to be to not be able to make tea? It used to be that they would get the hot water for you, but (to cut costs) it is now self-serve. They used to have slices of lemon, but don't anymore. Finding myself unhappy after these visits, I sent a complaint via the Panera Bread website. Panera Bread was responsive, but told me that this location was a franchise. They told me that they'd pass my concerns along and I'd hear from the owner or manager. I never did. I would give the food three or even four stars and the management one or two stars. After being here numerous times, I have mixed opinions. Like their other locations, the food is delicious! The selection of drinks, soups, and sandwiches were enough to satisfy my appetite. However, the teenage staff is obviously bored as they rush my orders through, and you have to deal with pretentious customers who believe this is the Gucci equivalent to McDonald's. After several minutes, the countergirl took the time out of her busy schedule of staring at her nails to tell me that my sandwich would be coming up around the corner. I walked around the corner and again stood for several minutes two feet from the sandwich girl. I noticed a bag on the counter and asked if it were a lobster roll. She said it was. They should really feed them more there so that they had enough energy to speak. I took my sandwich to go or I would have returned it. What even is the point of this system then? Also, I hope the manager will take the time to have a conversation with an employee by the name of Angie at some point. I was stared at like I had two heads and just walked off a spaceship. I guess, people don't normally go out early for breakfast? She just stared at me for 30 seconds and slowly answered "Uhhhhh 9:30" as if she was telling me the identity of the Whistleblower in the Ukraine case. Either that or she was just really stoned. So I just got two sandwiches. Now, I stood there and browsed the menu while waiting for my food and Green Tea (Which you now serve yourself, which I was not told). Then this rude soy boy beta cuck says to me "Uhm, you need to wait over THERE!" and pointed to a corner around which was a loooooong counter with an opening, with 3 people working behind it....sorry, who shat in your alfalfa sprouts and Wheaties, Bernie Boy?. So I walked around and saw two plates with two sandwiches and asked if that was my order and the the girl looked at me with dead eyes and didn't say a word and walked away. Starting to feel like I am in the Shining. Except where in the movie there are scary ghosts from the 1920's, in here there are pissed off ghosts of Hillary Voters who can't let 2016 go. Someone else came up and she called out a number and gave them their food......so once more after 5 minutes, I asked nicely, if this was mine. She said "Oh I said YES, like totally 10 minutes ago!" This is why you are working in a Panera Bread and not a Fortune 500 company, sweetheart :-). Sat down to eat my food. Sandwiches were almost inedible. I was sick, so I was able to choke the first one down. The other one, I left on the table. The green tea used to be so good and refreshing. It's now shit. The whole place is shit. 7am and the place looked dirty. Like 9pm after a dinner rush, dirty. The drink dispensers need serious cleaning. So do the ice tea containers.
