When I went there today The guy informed me that there was a 20% off if I got two items. So I got these and they also came with a bag of chips and apple or some bread I chose the chips. The guy was extra attentive very nice with the high energy I would say the service was absolutely wonderful. I did not go inside I just used the drive-thru however. The soup is delicious and not too salty. It's actually very hot so I have to wait a little bit to eat some more of it I only took a couple bites so far. So I decided to go to Panera and went through the drive through because my app was not working . I got cream of tomato soup cup and 1/2 Asian crunchy salad . I also ordered a grilled cheese. Soup was good as always the grilled cheese was fair but the salad was pathetic it had 2 slivered pieces of chicken and nothing else in the salad. Very disappointed. But the service was quick through the drive up . They have a few new items to choose from but honestly for the portion size and the 28.00 for 1/2 salad and soup and the basic grilled cheese. Was pleased with my meal today. They were very efficient in getting orders out and everything tasted delicious. I usually order from the app because I like to see all the customization option but it was not working for some reason and the cashier was very helpful to go through the options with me. Normally I love Panera but recently had a few bad experiences here. A few weeks ago I ordered delivery for lunch, I ordered the turkey bravo sandwich and instead of that I somehow wound up with either tuna or chicken salad sandwich, which out of all sandwiches is one I would never eat. Since it was through a 3rd party I didn't get a lunch and didn't fully get my money back so just had to stay hungry for the rest of my work shift since there was no time to get anything else. Then I decided today to pick up my own and order so I could make sure it's accurate. I ordered at 12:45pm it said it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I got there, there were still multiple orders ahead of me so I waited 30 minutes to get my food and by that time my lunch was over. If it is going to take longer don't put a false time on there because I never would've went if I knew it would take 30 minutes. Then to top it off, on my turkey bravo sandwich which is normally real normal pieces of bacon they threw bacon bits on it! I know the pandemic has really hurt things in terms of staffing. It's pretty clear though that if Panera wants their dine-in customers to have a better experience, the Corporate leadership needs to suck it up, up the pay to a better level, and retain competent employees. Had two somewhat irritating experiences dining in so I'm not doing it anymore, but I'm not going to fault the staff for lack of training, poor communication, and the absolute worst restaurant layout I've seen anywhere. I do go fairly regularly to take-out one thing: the Rustic XL Sourdough sandwich loaf. I have frequented Panera bread for over 10 years - many different locations in many different states - and this Panera is the only one I have consistently had a negative experience at. One associate (who I have always encountered in the morning or noon on weekdays) is extremely rude. The following has occurred during my visits to this Panera: - I ordered the tomato soup and they left out the side of croutons which comes with the soup. I asked politely if they had croutons and the associate looked at me and angrily said "no." I ordered a Caesar salad, which had croutons on it - so this obviously was untrue. Leaving an essential ingredient out of a meal is not great - but then REFUSING to correct the mistake when I politely asked is something I have honestly never experienced at any restaurant before. - I ordered a meal with a coffee and they did not leave out a cup for the coffee or put it in the bag. This happens occasionally at all Panera locations - no big deal! I asked for a coffee cup and this same associate angrily told me to check the bag. I told her politely that it was not in the bag. She angrily exclaimed that "they always put it in the bag" - even though it was not in the bag!!! This time at least - after basically yelling at me - she did angrily give me a cup - so at least the problem was technically corrected. This employee is not mature, intelligent, or emotionally stable enough to work in a customer service job. Mistakes are made, which she likely contributes to, and she either REFUSES to correct them or has a MAJOR ATTITUDE about doing so. These are just MY interactions with her - I've watched her be even ruder to other customers. I hope - for the sake of this Panera location - that this toxic employee is removed. Grubhub Rocks at this place ! Every time I place a order for delivery it arrives fast and super hot. My brocolli & cheese soup and Mac n cheese were nice and hot when it arrived a mere 10 min later. The tuna sandwich (half) was good and loaded with veggies lettuce,tomato and onion. They made sure I had napkins and my utensils . I will definitely be a repeat customer. We had an event at work yesterday. I set up the food and delivery a week ago. Panera never showed and no call. One of our employees picked it up and they wouldn't bring it out to her car. I spoke to the manager yesterday. I asked for 2 boxes of food to be delivered this morning. This was for the employees we missed yesterday. He agreed and said he would discount the order. Bad experience. Have been to this location a few times before and seemed be be ok. Went this morning and had to wait 10 minutes for 3 bagels and 2 coffees. I would not have minded if the place was busy but there was only one person ahead of us who did not order much. The bagels were only half "toasted." I love the concept of a turkey/tomato/bacon/avocado sandwich. I crave the idea of it. The flavors are there. BUT: the lettuce and tomato are so wet, the bread falls apart. The turkey is not sliced, but a few (leftover?) turkey chunks are thrown in. You may get halfway through your 1st half of sandwich, but then the wet bread disintegrates. The very few turkey chunks roll out of the sandwich. Be now, you've been thru 10-12 napkins and you are mortified to have liquid running over your fingers and hands. Come on, guys. A lot of customers waiting for their orders but I observed Nayelee keeping the things going, always with a smile in her face. When some customers asked for their orders, she politely respond their questions. I sent corporate a mildly worded complaint about the complete lack of quality at this particular franchise after twice receiving barely edible cold food; they responded and said they were addressing it with their local staff. Fair enough, I'll give it another go; folks have off-days. This NEXT TIME my sandwich had the paper dividers left between the slices of cheese, the ham smelled rotten, and the bowl of French Onion soup was half-full, cold and had a disgusting blob of half congealed cheese sliming it's way around the bottom. I have sent them feedback again, and I am curious as to how much information is received by the local franchise regarding Panera #/Order #, etc. My recommendation? If you are a fan of Panera and are in the neighborhood this is a great option for you. The restaurant itself is much nicer and cleaner than other Panera Breads that I have been to. It is a newer building, only opening within the last year or so. Pro's : * This Panera has a drive through! Bringing home a warm bread bowl just got easier during poor weather! * Cleanliness. Being newly opened everything is well kept. No worn out bench cushions, and new appliances. This is what draws me here. * Opening at 6am it is one of the only options for a quiet place right off of route 5, to grab a book or tablet, sit by their fireplace (built into one of their walls) and enjoy an early breakfast. At 6AM, your options are very limited in Wallingford. * Plenty of seating with outlets, allowing you to get some work done on while charging any laptops or devices that you brought with you. * Plenty of parking Cons: * Being a Chain restaurant, don't expect to be blown out of the water. This is simply one of the nicer Paneras in the area, and one of the very few options for those who are early birds looking to got out and start their day. read more

Watch them lose their minds and insist that they cannot deviate from the advertised description. Other locations of this chain are usually cleaner and the food prepared without error. Floors and several tables are dirty even though the place isn't crowded. The kitchen floor has trash all over it. The staff doesn't say thank you or apologize for incorrect orders. There are lots of other choices nearby. Suggest trying one of those instead. read more

When this happened, I laughed at the absurdity of it, and they did apologize, but the more I think about it, the more I feel like I have to say something. I ordered through the drive through, a plain untoasted bagel with cream cheese. I also ordered a brownie. The fact that I got a toasted bagel instead is the least of my worries. The brownie already had a bite taken out of it. The teeth that had bitten it had left clear teeth tracks down the length of the bite in the frosting. This is the WORST location, we order for delivery 2-3 times a week at work, and they ALWAYS forget something or completely ruin at least one of my coworkers orders. Truly need to get it together- won't be ordering or going here ever again which is unfortunate because the other panera chains are awesome. Management doesn't care at all, considering they sent a survey to my email the last time ordered and also had an issue which was "addressed" via a phone call, but clearly didn't change anything. Losing $80-$100 a week and $320-$400 a month in sales isn't a good business move in my humble opinion but seems like this location isn't in the business of customer service-they are consistent I will give them that, consistently terrible. Food is decent, employees what you'd expect at a fast food restaurant, somewhat slow, somewhat cheerful. When I do, occasionally get something from Panera, I usually get the grilled cheese and a smoothie. The smoothies are unhealthy, but taste fantastic, same can not be said about the grilled cheese. Most of the time the two toasted pieces of bread are angled in such a way that I question whether or not the person who made it has eyes, there usually isn't enough cheese, and when there is most of it is on the edge of the sandwich rather than inside. I recommend that, if you do get this sandwich, you get tomato soup with it to distract yourself from the flavor. read more
