This particular Panera is so poorly run. I've gone twice in last month. First of all the drive thru takes an insane amount of time. I was in line behind a car (at the window) for 13 mins. I started timing it. The bag handed to person in front of me was small. Two open spaces in wait area with a huge line behind me and they don't send the car in front of me to wait area. Then last time they were out of all soups and most pastries at 1:30pm. I wasn't told about pastry I wanted till I was at window which really annoyed me! Considering it's a lunch time business that's not great. Also seems like quality has gone down. I would say try the Bristol location. For the wait and them constantly being out of everything it's nowhere worth the wait and service. Terribly run location that drastically needs new management. read more

Fortunately, I don't understand most of the other reviews. This Panera seems fine to me - maybe it could use some extra sweeping, especially in the restrooms, but the food was good and employees enthusiastic. One wanted me to know he was right there by the baked goods when I was ready to order, and surely enough he bounded right to the register when I stepped forward. The sandwich was well filled, and the avocado was creamy and fresh. It was well balanced overall. There were a lot of people eating inside, but the space was sufficiently spread out and it didn't feel overwhelming. Those who wanted to eat in quiet had half the restaurant, and those dining as a large group had the other. Well designed! Just be careful of the drive thru - it limits the routes to get out, and some of the drivers are not watching who may be walking in front of them. read more

The process continue to rise. The portions continue to shrink. And, God forbid I asked for ice and butter. How many butters? WHY do I need ice? I actually walked up to the register to return the entire order. While I was trying to figure out of I had received a Pick Two order because my salad was so small, I am requesting butter and ice. Are you serious? More importantly, why don't you have ice? Why must I ask for butter when I have paid for it in my order for the bagels and bread? Why can't the poor woman in front of me find her order? Why are you concerned about my request for ice and not her order? Truthfully, I have had so many order that were wrong, I should have known better than to have chosen Panera. Good God, I can only imagine when I do sit down to eat what will happen if my order is incorrect again. We are not ignorant. Your prices are higher, portions smaller. I have not had a single order in over THREE YEARS that you were not missing ingredients. Panera makes you remove the item from your order, as if it is your choice. They do not offer a replacement. They simply make you go into the order and customize the removal of their missing ingredients. As a restaurant manager, I rarely ran out of ingredients. Panera, in the other hand wins the prize. Crew makes my meal (as already shared, wrong 97 percent of the time), puts it up on the counter, a PANERA person grabbed my bag, opens it, peers in, then calls my name. PANERA says it checks orders for accuracy. If that is true, how is it 97 percent of my orders in the last three years were wrong?? PANERA needs to pay its employees a good wage. Employees want to do a good job. Customer is happy to pay said employee's good wage because he got what he ordered. The prices PANERA is charging is certainly enough to pay employees this good wage. My wife gets bagels from here every week. They are big, soft on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. The different flavors that we've had are all good. My favorite is the cinnamon crunch. The blueberry, Asiago, and plain are all good. Plus on Tuesday they run a special for a baker's dozen. Can't beat it with a stick! read more

Don't Door Dash! Placed order via Door Dash for. Caesar salad with chicken. Got delivered a Caesar salad with no chicken even though receipt on bag clearly said chicken Caesar salad. Called the store and was told manager needed to call to resolve. It has been an hour and no call from manager, so that is a clear sign how they value their customers. Nothing against Door Dash. I only recommend not using Door Dash and going there yourself to pick up order so you can easily and quickly see when they mess up the order like they did mine today. read more

I do frequent this place now. I'm pretty sure their unlimited coffee club is the only thing keeping me alive at this point. But I've tried a lot of other menu options (mostly for breakfast). The food does depend greatly on who is making it, sadly. Some people will skimp on toppings while others will give you a good portion. I ordered a balsamic and grains salad with lots of mods. They made it to my specs perfectly. My husband got the Greek salad. They were both fresh and delicious. We got dressing on the side which worked out cause it was pretty sweet, even tho it was balsamic (mine). The bread was also fresh- crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! Went to the Southington, CT, drive thru and bought half BBQ chicken sandwich at $7.83 which was barely warm and was mushy. I gave the cashier a new $100.00 gift card which I verified before purchase. I looked at my receipt before I left the window and the charge was correct. However, when I got home and went to check the balance on the receipt to write the amount on it for easy reading, my receipt balance showed $7.17. The cashier STOLE $85.00 off this card. I also then noticed my PIN on the back was scratched off. Now I understand why she walked away from the window! Once my $15.00 is gone, I will never purchase from them again and will again. I have never been as disappointed in a Panera bread more than this visit today. I used to always be satisfied every single time I visit a Panera. The bread bowls were so small like ... really really small. We barely had any soups in our bread bowls because it wasn't even emptied from the inside. I am not sure why this happened but I hope this is not a regular for this restaurant. The veggies in our salads looked like they were left out of the fridge at room temperature overnight. Perfect lunch spot, especially on the go with mobile pick up. This place was great before the birth of mobile ordering and pick up, but now it's a 10/10! Order on the app, select the time you want your order ready, pay on app, and go pick it up from the mobile pick up area without waiting in line or even talking to anyone, just in and out- great for short lunch breaks. My favorite item on the menu is the Pick 2, I usually get the soup and salad, either French onion or broccoli cheddar and the spicy Thai chicken salad. The salad has a little kick, with roasted edamame and a yummy peanut sauce with some cilantro (my fav!). You can even add a treat for .99 cents which is so hard to deny. The candy cookie is the BEST! It's a gooey sugar cookie with tiny little m&m candies on top, I dream of this cookie! I just love everything from Panera Bread, you can choose many healthy options or even choose to not be so healthy that day but still feel like you are fresh good fast food. read more

I ordered a family feast for curbside pickup while we were staying at a nearby hotel. For some reason when you order the feast online, you can not customize any individual items. They give you a small number of characters at the end to add something but it's really not enough. After I ordered online, I called the store right away to mention my customizations. They were not crazy changes...no onions on the chicken frontega sandwich and substitute Mayo for the signature sauce on the bacon turkey bravo sandwich. I spoke to Jamie who said she would make the notes. After I picked up the order I brought it back to the hotel, Not only were the customizations ignored, they failed to put in any utensils, which I requested online. The sandwiches were put together very sloppy and the chicken frontega was so salty, it wasn't edible. I love the family feast deal, but not from this location. read more

This location is nice, centrally located right on Queen St. and is the first ever Panera that I saw have a drive thru (I am unsure how quickly Panera items can be made at the drive thru) I went inside to eat. I posted some pictures that might help. Anyways, the middle aged woman that helped me was very pleasant, and was the 1st person in Panera history to offer me a salad (you pick two) soup/sal combo ) that was different from just a regular house salad. I opted to try the Greek salad and it was quite good. The inside was VERY clean, however I really really hate when you go to the ladies bathroom and their is a huge gap where the bathroom stall door closes, and where it is affixed to the hinge (see picture) Basically, anybody can more or less "see" you using the bathroom....gross. They did not have a disposal spot/garbage can for anything, I do not like to just use the "dryer" method and then touch the dirty door handle, so that was annoying. One positive is that I finally tried some lemons in my ice tea, and they were actually COLD. They were properly sitting on ice, which is also a rare find. I would try this place again. Food was great but the people behind the counter in the kitchen rude asf!!!!!! I walk up there to grab my food (which was just sitting there because they apparently don't announce shit) and I notice the food didn't come with any of the sides. Okay cool no problem so I go up there and ask politely and I guess I interrupted the work tea cus when I asked for the sides they both look at me like I'm stupid!!! Then one of them finally speaks and says "what do you want" so I have to repeat myself again and eventually I get them. Just overall rude. Outstanding service and the food is delicious. So fresh and wonderful. Their egg sandwiches on brioche buns are so yummy. Best chocolate croissant I have ever had in CT. Their Asiago bagels are so soul satisfying with a shmear of butter. Their poppy seed and plain bagels are delicious with their walnut honey cream cheese or onion and chive cream cheese. We won't even mention that broccoli soup and their sandwiches. Love me some Panera! read more

There are few places where I think it's both simple and pretentious at the same time- but Panera Bread is one. If I'm paying 10 dollars for a panini it'd better be restaurant quality. Thing is, Panera is in that category that's not fast food, not quite sit down and dine in. So I've eaten there twice in the past month (and never before this). Both times I got soup and a sandwich. Both times I came away with the same impression. The sandwich is pretty good but not worth the price I pay, and the soup is mediocre and definitely not worth the price I pay. I've had their tuscan grilled chicken sandwich, and their caprese. Both had delicious herbs that really flavored the bread. But a half sandwich is about 6.50 there. And that won't fill you up. And it's still a sandwich! Nothing too fancy. The caprese, almost the same exprience and takeaway from it. The soups? The creamy tomato is inches from Campbell's. Unimpressive. Chicken noodle also does not strike me as made from fresh ingredients. So the net result is I spend about $12 on a lunch where I get an unsatisfying soup, an apple in one case (wow, the prep time), and chips in another (very bland, all I could taste was the sunflower oil used to make it)... and the sandwiches would be fine if they didn't cost so much when I know the ingredient cost for that sandwich doesn't top 2 bucks. So, I was really looking forward to their Asiago Breakfast Sandwich. I got in line before 10:30, this guy was taking forever to order. When it is finally my turn, I go to order my sandwich. Turns out their breakfast ends at 10:30. It was literally 10:33 by the time I got to the order window. I was in line before that. I asked if 3 mins really makes a difference, she said, "All the eggs are gone." What does that mean? You guys perfectly calculate how many eggs you will sell between open and 10:30? They must be geniuses. I know they have eggs, how hard is it to honor the fact that I was in line before 10:30 and crack an egg open. Thanks for nothing.
