I came here for the first time tonight because this is my husband's favorite subway in the state. He's in the hospital and had a craving for a meatball sub, so I went on a meatball sub mission. This Subway is my usual go to fast food stop on Washington Street in Middletown. Not today. Did a drive thru. Ordered the New Grand Slam Roast Beef grinder, had it before it was excellent. List as #17. When I got it home, the grinder was labeled #7 The grinder had sweet onions and I think a Buffalo type chicken in it. It was impossible to download a description of all the sandwiches so I cannot even tell you what it is called. I didn't want it, I didn't order it. Second sandwich was tuna on 6 inch Italian, not toasted, a little lettuce, onions, mayo. Tuna looks brown and has no flavor. Managers, please know what is going on in the prep area.. this used to be one of my favorite subways locally. new employee or new management is an issue. twice now I have gone through the drive-through, since the change in "sandwich artists", and on both occasions the woman at the drive thru refused to listen to my custom order to add or change veggies. she got the order wrong, giving the wrong bread, and "forgot" the added veggies i asked for. There was no one behind me in drive thru line so no need to hurry me through the order, or try to have me skip the additions. And after I asked her to slow down and take my order, they intentionally made the sandwich wrong. Then she forgot to add a dipping sauce for the $3 side which is the whole reason you would buy a foot long pretzel. As if that experience wasn't bad enough, I began vomiting while driving, after starting to eat the pretzel. No idea what that was about and what would cause it. But they gotta work on the attitude. We are paying customers. And Subway has actual policies on how to serve the food and listen to customers. They need to hire some better workers here. Or at least get that nice guy back who always got my orders right. In the meantime, there's a different subway in town, and a Wendy's next door to this one. Lots of other places to spend your money on worthwhile eats. Don't go here. read more

I can't stand going in here. They make great sandwiches. The staff is friendly. The girls working here are pretty. The men are welcoming. So why won't I go in here any more? Because I can't tolerate the non-stop propaganda on CNN played all day every day. It's the worst news outlet. Has the lowest ratings. Everyone hates CNN. People volunteer that they hate CNN...without asking them anything. I mean they volunteer it. They bring it up. In waiting rooms, mind if I change the channel? As long as its not CNN. I drive right past here to the Subway in Portland or Ill go the Chipotle just down the road. I commute to Portland to work. I ate at this shop at least four times a week for months. 7 minutes. That's how long it took for me to get out of my car, order and receive 2 foot long sandwiches, snap 3 pics, and go back out to my car. The dining room, counter, and areas of the back that I could see were all clean. Everything was very organized and the ingredients all looked vibrant and fresh. The girls behind the counter were friendly, quick, and efficient. The food was not for me, so I can't rate on taste, but I don't think I could have had a better ordering experience then what I just had. read more

The staff are the worst I have ever experienced. They leave you at the drive through window for long periods of time, while they are on their phones and socializing. I have driven away when I am the only person in line due to waiting with no response in the drive through. When I pass the pick up window there are multiple staff on their phones not responding to the drive through. Waste of time to try and get service at the Middletown, CT Subway. read more

I stopped in here after my dentist appointment as I had a gift card to use, nobody was in there. When I entered the staff was sweeping behind the machines, pulling them out which was a pleasant sight to see this happening. I had to wait a moment but that didn't bother me since I know I was eating a clean restaurant. The staff was enthusiastic and took my order without issues. What's great about Subway is they are very standardized so I know that when I go in I'm going to get to order the same way every time and get the same sandwich as well which I enjoy. This is a good Subway, which also has a Drive Thru, which for some people out there might be a great selling option. Other than that it's pretty run-of-the-mill Subway, it has all of the basics. It's kind've tiny inside, but it has a tv and the staff is always nice. I don't know why some people are really hung up on the unsweetened drink options, dude below my review loves 'em apparently. read more

Most of the reason I wanted to write this was to tip you guys off that the foot longs here are actually a foot long. They must do the bread differently here. I used the drive thru and the service and wait was very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I tried one of their new turkey bacon guacamole wrap. It is a very good sandwich. My one objection is I felt it was very pricey compared to the regular subs. read more

Fast easy and good sandwiches - the only Subway I go to in town (the one on rt. 17 gave me food poisoning)!

Update: This Subway no longer sells an unsweetened drink option. I am unlikely to return.
