I don't normally do reviews for fast food places because it feels a little bit like beggars can't be choosers, but this one is an exception. I stopped through the drive thru and should have known better when the woman on the intercom rather rudely told me to pull up to the next intercom. I ordered and paid, no big deal. I pulled up to the second window and the guy told me it would be just a minute. Three minutes later he told me to pull up to the second set of yellow lines because they were working on my food and it'd be out soon. The car in front of me took another 5 minutes to get their food and I waited at the yellow lines for a total of 10 minutes before it came out. They were friendly enough but that wait... I came home and mentioned it to someone else. They told me that a similar thing happened to them. Then they asked if I noticed the spots blocked off for people to park in when they're waiting for something from the drive thru. And I had, I just didn't think about it. This location is apparently understaffed because the same individual who took our order also was responsible for bring an order out to a waiting vehicle as well as assembling several orders. This resulted in me waiting inordinate amount of time for my order to be filled. The burgers themselves were barely warm. He also did not provide me with cups for our sodas until I reminded him that I had paid for 2 large sodas. Overall, a very disappointing experience that will be repeated because I will not be returning to this location. read more

My mother and I just had a very chaotic experience in this location. On 8/16/2023 Just after 2pm, We went to this location to grab slushy's, and when we pulled into the first window, and this whole thing started when a male worker, claiming to be the "manager" would not take a half ripped five dollar bill (what's the big deal? It's still pure legal tender). When my mother expressed frustration over this. He started laughing at us. I decided to pull up my camera and take a video of his unprofessionalism behavior towards us customers and when he realized I had my phone up, he started name calling, cursing at us and being very extremely RUDE....Be Aware when you go to this location. Guess this one seen it's good and bad days by the reviews . I never had a bad one and I hope I won't. Today I did drive-thru to grab some breakfast sandwiches and the new Breakfast Pie from New Zealand only they are testing out here which is a bacon,egg,cheese pie . Drive thru was speedy and the employees nice even made sure my kid had his ice water he requested,lol. The sausage/ egg muffins we're good as usual and the pie was basically powdered eggs with a creamy cheesy bacon sauce(3 stars if your hungry) I wouldn't get it again that crust was good though. read more

Those arches attract 3 year old eyes like nothing else can! We needed something quick before sports practices so through the drive thru we went. I ordered a happy meal for the little one, a chicken sandwich for my daughter, and a 20 piece nugget for my son. I'm a little hard of hearing and those drive thru speakers are tough for me so when I pulled up I asked what the total was. The (adult) woman at the window looked at me and proceeded to close the window so that she could go back to her conversation, either through blue tooth or with another employee wearing a headset. I'm sure the window was supposed to stop me from hearing but apparently she couldn't tell me my total until she told the person on the other end of her line that "If he ever does that again I'll have him arrested!" (Not an exact quote but close enough). Then she opened the window and told me my total, I payed, she went back to her conversation, and I went to the next window. Pretty ridiculous to see a grown woman acting worse than a teenager and I'm sure she's one of the employees preaching that she deserves $15/hr minimum!! At the next window we were given our food and we were on our way. McDonald's food isn't great but my kids were able to eat in the car on the way to practice. I had a few of my son's nuggets, they weren't very fresh but edible. I was happy to see that the happy meals come in a box again instead of a bag. I came to this restaurant too many times (unfortunately, since I should be dieting) and the service is up and down. Most of the time though, they are slow as snails, but at least they do apologize for the long wait when they finally give you your food, which is much appreciated. Also, make sure your food is fresh, even if it means waiting a while longer. They are pretty good when you have special requests for your burgers if you order inside. I NEVER go the drive-thru, they are even slow there also and every time I go there is always a car waiting past the second window for their food. It's probably best to go when you have that late night hunger. Sure the wait is unbearable, but at least you know that your food will be fresh. read more

I went to this McDonald's on a snowy night and got 2 McChicken's with an additional tomato put into each one. Which by the way costs extra, so I take the food home after waiting 20 minutes in the drive-thru and while eating the food, the tomato is black and rotten, not only in one burger, but in both! So I went back and told the manager, who acted as if it was something common and not a big deal, while I was waiting for my order to be refunded, someone dropped something in the disposal tray of the McCafe dispensing machine, so when the guy too the grill out, there was what seemed to look like black tar underneath the disposal tray, not a little, a lot! Ordered & paid for an egg white delight mcmuffin. The sandwich was wrapped with the egg white delight side facing out...but it was actually a regular egg mcmuffin. Love that I paid extra for the egg whites & cheddar that they chose not to give me. This is the 2nd time at this location that they have done this. I swing through for breakfast periodically and wanted to post a bit of a counter to some of the bad reviews. This location has, perhaps, the highest accuracy of any fast food joint I've found. They just don't screw up - and I occasionally order non-standard items (well done bacon, no X, extra Y). After a few visits they greet me as if they know me. I haven't seen friendliness like this in many places around here, let alone a fast food drive thru. read more

I'm shocked by all the bad reviews, because my family and I just had the best McDonalds experience ever! We came in with three kids under 5, and the staff was incredibly friendly. They checked in to make sure we were enjoying everything, and the manager gave all the kids mini ice cream cones on the house. He even let the oldest boy make his own ice cream. This restaurant is poor by McDonald's standards, nothing is more ridiculous than specifically asking for a coffee with 1 cream and 1 sugar, getting about 23 of each, bringing it back to be fixed, and having the replacement be worse than the original. I've lived in Middletown CT for 20+ years. I will say the Washington St store is just about the worst it gets! Rude people, food is never right. At least 1/2 the order is screwed up every time. I stopped going in there years ago. I did have to run through recently & remembered immediately why I stopped going into that location. Will go hungry or thirsty next time. For some reason it's only letting me pull that one up. Now the one on S Main in Middletown is a completely different store. Friendly, clean, & fast for the most part. I have allergies & am particular about my food. I am very specific about ordering so there's no confusion. This store rarely gets it wrong. Well worth the sidetrack from the highway.
