I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and it has neither bacon or cheese. I asked for pickles mayo & other toppings all it had was jalapeños smh the fries that I ordered were so salty we couldn't even eat them but I would assume nothing less bc I saw the boy POUR a lb of salt on them while we were there. Smh

Five Guys Little Bacon Cheeseburger And Little Fries

"Farm to Table Fries" The restaurant is very clean and organized. I wasn't sure what to expect for portion size so I got the Little Bacon Cheeseburger and the little fries. Good thing I went that route. The "Little" burger means it's a single burger patty. Regular size is two burger patties. I had my "Little" burger topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and sliced jalapeno peppers. The so called "Little" bacon cheeseburger was huge. It was the tastiest burger I've had in a restaurant in a long time. I believe the star of the show at Five Guys are the fries. They have bags upon bags of Idaho potatoes on display ready to be cut fresh daily and fried to perfection. I love that they leave the skins on for more flavor. They even have a sign stating that their supply of potatoes came from Riverside Farm in Parker, Idaho. They really take pride in freshness. Five Guys has one of those new self serve soda machines that blends a gizzilion soda combinations. I prefer bottled water, but it's a cool machine. They even offer free peanuts to pick on while you wait for your order. As the cook bagged my order, he placed the burger in the bag, then the "Little" cup of fries, and then he dumped a small tray of extra fries in the bag. My initial thought that the price of $12.74 for a burger and fries was high. But the huge portion made it well worth it.

    mmmmm Five Guys Burger!

Definitely one of the best burgers in town. . . Get your fix 11AM to 10PM , 7 Days a week. A Simple Menu- Burgers Fries and drinks, that's pretty much it! They also have hotdogs and a veggie or grilled cheese. The veggie grilled cheese is any of the toppings(See below) on a hamburger roll with cheese for $2.49. Another import note is that all the regular burgers are actually DOUBLE Burgers. If you want a single patty order one of the "Little" burgers. Everything on the menu is under 6$ so it's inexpensive. A regular fry is the size of a large fry anywhere else because they always put an extra scoop in the bag. . . A large fry is enough for two adults and 2 kids with some left over. The Five Guys Style Fries are super delicious with the potato skins still on, deep fried in peanut oil. Mmmm good! They also have cajun style fries which are pretty hot! A chalkboard on the wall tells where todays potatoes came from. Lots O' Free Toppings including: Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo Relish, Onions, Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, Grilled onions, Grilled Mushrooms, Jalapeno Peppers, Green Peppers, A-1 Sauce, Bar-B-Q Sauce and Hot Sauce. Bulk peanuts in the shell to eat while you wait for your order. The place is real busy because it just opened. I suggest calling in your order. . .

I finally went to Five Guys, last week with my good friend before a play we were attending. Oh em gee the food was phenonomal! I love how the beef is made from grassfed cows! The burgers are fresh and are not frozen!

Whenever I want a no nonsense burger with anything I can possibly think of and a ton of great fries to go along with said burger I hit 5 Guys. Its not a burger which will make you fall off your chair but then again I can only think of one burger ever that made me come unglued. Every topping under the sun...amazing what fresh jalapeno's do to a burger. I really like this place and have even tried the bunless burger, wrapped in lettuce...I advise against this unless you wear a garbage bag over yourself or consume naked and then get hosed off.

They made us feel welcome and were very helpful to us newbies. Our orders were taken and we were explained the process. Most of the condiments are self-serve. Both times I had the chili, yellow mustard and onions. My wife had Cole Slaw on her first one and Sauerkraut and mustard the second week. We made quite the mess but enjoyed the food. The hot dogs are very tasty and cooked just the way I we like them, a little char but not burnt. We had to cut the dogs into quarters and the rolls held up fine. The chili, while it tastes good is a little bland and my wife would have liked a little more flavor in the Sauerkraut too. The order of fries is large, hot and crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The store is a nostalgic walk into the past with retro fixtures, tables and decorations. It's fun to read the 45's that line the walls while enjoying these dogs. The dogs are a novelty and are good enough to come back for. They have an extensive menu and I'm tempted to try the other offerings but the Two-Foot dogs always call me back.

Cash only, cash only, cash only!…read more But there is an ATM on site Stopped in for lunch with a friend of mine on this Friday afternoon, the place was definitely steady with people dining in, takeout, and the at picnic tables outside This was a beautiful day and we decided we would be sitting at the picnic tables outside The order was placed for two hotdog one with mustard, onion, and sauce, and the other hotdog with mustard and relish. I ordered a Pepsi soft drink, and my friend ordered the lemonade iced tea. About 10 minutes later, our order arrived, and we took the hotdog and drinks outside to the picnic tables The picnic tables could've been a little bit cleaner, but they were passable. After all, this is a lunch stop, and a hotdog joint, and a dive. One bite into that foot-long hotdog, and it was hot dog heaven. The toasted buttered England style hotdog roll, just was grilled to perfection. The hotdog had a nice SNAP to it with just nice a little bit spicy kick to the dog, I loved the mustard and the minced onions. But let's talk about that sauce. I could taste some cinnamon in it, there probably was chocolate in it also, but this was, in my opinion, the best meat sauce in Connecticut. My friend concurred that his hot dog was delicious. However, he wished he ordered the minced onions to go with it after seeing the onions on my hotdog. So... Let's go for round two! We had another foot-long hotdog I had one with mustard, onion, and sauce. My friend had one with mustard relish, and onion on it and we demolished them. I had a Pepsi drink and it was nice and cold and fresh. It was a bottle of lemonade iced tea, and it was consistent with what's usually in a bottle drink This is a great stop on the way to or from the beach, and Lake Beseck Conveniently located, and parking is a breeze outback around the side. There is an outside ice cream window along with an ice cream counter inside to the right of the entrance. The ice cream and milkshakes looked delicious. I wish I had stopped and took the time to order one. Definitely next time. To say these are the best hotdog in Connecticut would be a pretty fair statement. If not, these are a top five stop for hotdog.

Today, a sunny early Spring morning, I decided to escape the dark recesses of my humble abode and finally make the trip to Middlefield. I am glad I did. Guida's has a definite 50s diner vibe. Everything looked clean, fresh, and appealing. The server was very friendly and helpful and the food was brought quickly. The fries were hot right from the oil and the 1/4 lb burger was cooked perfectly. Today, I opted for a strawberry shake and was pleased to find it not cloyingly sweet from too much syrup. Delish! The prices were comparable for other like establishments. Note: They only accept cash, but have an ATM for customer convenience. This is definitely a restaurant I would visit again when I am in the area!

I understand that the trailer is presently known as Missy's Top Dog at least in some circles. I'm not sure if that's a change. When the Channel 3 Best Hot Dog in CT bracket was released, I noticed Missy's Top Dog was on it. I was able to get there shortly before their 3 pm closing recently. I'm a fan. First of all, although they were closing soon, there was a steady stream of people while I was in the area. There was never a long line, but I was not able to take a pic of the hot dog shaped trailer without a person blocking the sign. MTD is the only place I know of using Thumann's Hit Dogs from New Jersey. MTD steams the dogs and it looked like they had a bit of a dirty water thing maybe going on. MTD has several specialty dogs, but nothing too far out of the ordinary. I ordered a Cajun with "Orleans Relish", chili and pepper jack. I really liked the dog, especially for a steamed dog. Nice flavor. Nice snap. The toppings worked really well together. The chili sauce was meaty and not heavily seasoned. The relish provided a nice jolt of sweet acidity. I also ordered the MTD clasic dog, which had artfully layered catsup, mustard, relish and onions. Same tasty, snappy dog. Nice ratio of toppings. I'm assuming Missy was the person helping me because she seemed to have the confidence and pride of an owner. She was very friendly and engaging in my brief time speaking with her. Since the dogs were steamed, they came out right away. I can't say Missy's Top Dog's cracks my Top Tier of CT Dogs, but it's just a tier down and I enthusiastically recommend MTD, even if you have to drive a bit out of your way. 4.25 Stars

The patties were thick, juicy, and packed with flavor - exactly what you'd hope for from a historic Connecticut drive-in like Harry's Place. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned, making the whole meal a standout. This place has been around for over 100 years for a reason. Great portions, no-frills deliciousness, and that old-school vibe. If you're craving a solid burger and fries (or their famous clams/hot dogs), this is the spot. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! Highly recommend - 10/10 on the burger front.

This is kind of weird. I don't think this is a New England thing or a Connecticut thing. Had I known there was mustard and relish at a condiment counter around the corner, I would've just got a plain dog. The place gets busy for lunch and there's only one order taker. So the line can get out of that testy, especially if you're in a hurry. I know many say this is an institution and I shouldn't be speaking negatively about it, but it is what it is it's overrated. Yes it's been around for a long time, but it's super expensive for a hot dog and milkshake. I see no value here. I should've went up and around the corner to that bar that serves those really great lobster rolls. Colchester is a beautiful town, with many wonderful choices for a place to eat. I don't think this is one of them.
