    Yummy snacks!
    Lisa R.

I got turned around on the freeways of Los Angeles and decided to get off and try to calm down before trying to fight my way back home. I ended up at Panera . I was greeted by George at the counter. I was frazzled but he was friendly and patient. After I ordered he reminded me to give him my phone number for rewards and came up with 2 ! After giving me my discount he helped me pick out a desert! Nothing like a brownie to ease traffic anxiety! For a fast food place he never rushed me and made me feel welcome. My food came quickly and was delicious. My hesitation for not doing a 5 star review was the bathroom was nasty. Dirty floors, overflowing trash and nasty toilet stalls. But 5 stars for the employees and the service!

I never leave reviews, but I was really upset by my experience tonight. I got in the drive thru at around 7:30pm and waited almost 30 minutes to receive my order. When I move a little forward from the window to check my order (which I admit was my mistake, I should have checked before even moving) my name was on the bag, but the order was completely different. I would have taken the L and left, but it was a BLT sandwich and I cannot eat pork. I went back in line and had to wait another 20 mins to get the correct order. I had to return the incorrect order and wasn't given a sweet treat for the inconvenience or anything. Which I remember they used to do before, do they not do it anymore? When I got home and opened my sandwich, my frontega chicken sandwich was missing basil and was really dry, like there wasn't any of the chipote sauce in it. Extremely disappointing, not worth the $16.

This is my first time coming here I rate the drinks, the guava drink give it a three maybe I came at the wrong time. It was a little bit watery, but I will be back to try to food and see how it is so stay tuned for that one just letting you know I wasn't a fan of the drinks little bit watery, but I will be back to taste of food so I will get my whole review on that one

This Panera location came thru at South Gate as I was on my way to Paramount, amazingly still populated with a lot of people dining in, has a drive thru also busy, everything inside was well organized, all the setup were fully stocked, their self serving kiosks were functional, the employees were very attentive and helpful overall, another Panera discover will be on my bookmark for all my trips to LA

Went this morning and I gotta say I had another awesome experience! They really go above and beyond at this location. I had 2 orders but I put the second in kind of late. I got my first order and went to my car. I headed in to get the second order and the young lady was headed to the door with my bag. She was going to bring it out to me...that was really nice of her and appreciated...it shows the employees actually care....as far as the food goes...I had the garden avocado toast with extra tomato...it was SO GOOD....id never pay 5 bucks for some toast but babyyyyy I will now lmao....im honestly scared to go to any other Panera Bread now because they just cant compete with this location!

Tell me , what is this : one side of sandwich has everything other half of sandwich has just bacon bites

Soggy Sandwich with minimal filling and a BUG

Ordered via Postmates Half portion chicken salad sandwich Was taking pictures to show how little of a portion the chicken salad was and all the liquid that made th bread soapy when I came across a bug Thank fully I was taking pictures or would have eaten it. I understand things happen but it's still extremely gross and he didn't even blend in. Obviously no one was paying attention when they assembled the sandwich. Can't remember last time I had Panera but defiantly won't be having it anytime soon. Sandwich is in the trash.

$8.89 for a large mac and cheese & it ain't even filled up (5/10/20)

Panera Bread seems to keep getting stingier than all get out with their servings. A few years ago, the one in Pico Rivera used to pack the mac and cheese in a large container to the brim with the lid nearly about to pop off. Later they started leaving like an inch below the brim unfilled. Next location! So then... Downey Panera Bread did the same damn thing. Now it's South Gate. A large mac and cheese is $8.89. It comes with a side and our daughter almost always wants an apple. Even the apple is on the tiny side. The strawberry poppyseed salad with chicken ($11.19 for a whole size) was good and fresh, but that fat-free poppyseed dressing was not my cup of tea at all. I had some Litehouse Homestyle Ranch Dressing to make it more interesting. During COVID-19 quarantine, the app is very useful for curbside takeout. It will prompt you to specify the color and make/model of your vehicle. Then when you arrive you just use the app to let them know you're there and they come and find you.

Panera in South Gate, you could definitely do a better job in protecting your workers for unsafe work practices. Shift manager instructed worker to climb up an a ladder and clean the elevated areas in the "kitchen" area. Worker had one foot on the ladder, and his second foot on the counter where food was being prepared. Before any one thinks that I'm being petty about safety, how about food safety? Is going above and beyond to ensure that your food is clean and safe to eat considered pettiness? Safe work practices include food safety, workers at this Panera cut corners performing unsafe work, the cutting of corners also includes the food hygiene, food cleanliness, and the safe handling of your foods. Foot on counter where food is actively being prepared? Guacala. This was done all while food was being handled on the same counter where the worker had his dirty foot. Cutting corners much? Where's Maria when I need her? Maria, come look at this !!!!!

I preach this place like i was on their payroll haha, but they sell themselves. I have put on so many people to this place. So many options, lots of bottle/cans and a rotating draft menu that carries more than IPAs, nothing wrong with IPAs, i drink them but other types exist. I can always find my funky Sours on tap, and did i mention delicious fresh samiches? Dayum son! Hope nothing but good luck for them, they are a staple in Downey's DNA.

In our pursuit of great…read moresandos, we've tried Katz Deli in NYC, Brent's in Northridge and even the sorely missed but never forgotten Miller's East Coast Deli in San Francisco. So when, tasked with finding a suitable place for our quarterly lunch meeting, I entered "Jewish deli" and "Downey" into Yelp, half expecting to find the lackluster lineup of national chains that PURPORT to make good sandwiches- Subway, Joysie Mike's, Jimmy John's and the usual suspects of sandwich sorriness! Imagine then, fellow Yelpers, when Uncle Henry's Deli appeared...as welcome a sight as my gorgeous bikini-clad wifey. Both Mick and I, who first bonded over our shared love of the national pastime, immediately likened Henry's with the MLB legend who shares my birthday- Henry Louis Aaron, aka Hamnerin' Hank and the REAL all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds and his oversized gourd, er, head be damned. In his 22yr career, Aaron belied his average size (5ft 11 tall, 185 lbs) and deployed his missile-fast wrists to smack 755 homers. All while playing in Jim Crow era Atlanta. Uncle Henry's Deli, similarly, defies expectations. Who would think of putting a Jewish-style delicatessen in Downey, famous for birthing the honey-voiced Carpenters and the self-styled "Mexican Beverly Hills?!" Mick ordered a super sized Original, which is turkey, roast beef + ham plus cheddar on white. He went with potato wedges which are sizable. Me? I chose one hot, one cold. A super sized Big B (Pastrami, Bacon + Swiss on toasted sourdough, hold the pickles) and an Egg Salad on enviably well made squaw bread, hold the tomatoes. Pro Tip- From a lifetime of ordering well made sandos in every major city in America, never put tomatoes on a cold sandwich unless you want the notoriously water-dense fruit to dampen your sandwich! The only mild drawback of my food order was the side of potato salad, which in my opinion would benefit from some black pepper and minced celery. The service at Henry's is expedient- You've barely helped yourself to one of their dark wood benches when they've called your order! The restroom was, yes, as cozy as the overall venue...but sufficiently clean + stocked. Watch out, tho- The hot water runs hotter than the devil's temperature! In closing, you can take Uncle Henry's to the bank. Yes, you'll part with upwards of a Jackson, mebbe even two. But you'll enjoy the treat, cuz the caliber of food is very bit as real as the hammer (aka Louisville Slugger) that Hamnering Hank used to bash all of his home runs with.

I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. My friend grabbed a table while I placed the order. -they do have a good amount of seating. The place is pretty small though. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. They had Sabrina carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo specials and they even had a Lana Del Rey latte (cinnamon girl, named after her song) only thing that bummed me out They had a case with delicious pastries. But since I came here later in the day, they only had a couple stragglers left behind -they open at 7 am, for everyone needing their morning coffee -vegan options -free WiFi -woman owned -LGBTQ owned -they give back to the community
