The menu is a bit odd/confusing. I stopped in a day early to ask for paper menus to take back to my family since we planned to eat here a day beforehand, but they don't have paper take out menus. We all decided on some items by looking at the website. We had to order through the drive through since the lobby was closed due to COVID-19. I asked for the white cheddar/steak sandwich to be just plain, only cheese and meat, but it was prepared with everything, including odd pickled onions and way too much horseradish. We ordered 4 entrees and asked for chips with each, but were only given 3 bags of chips and had to go back through the drive through again to get the 4th bag of chips. Extremely slow service at this Panera. Also they only have baguettes available as sides, no chips, nor apples, also out of chipotle mayo for the Chicken Frontega sandwich!!!..... The cashier person barely spoke....I had to inquire about the sides.....not customer friendly. Perhaps she should be making sandwiches versus working the register. I don't understand the bad reviews of this place. We have stopped at this Panera several times over the years and have always had a good experience. We always eat in the dining room and have not experienced the drive thru. The food has always been fresh and tasty and service quick. read more

Stick to the muffins and cookies . . . I went in here and ordered a chili 'for here.' When they called my name, I went to pick up my tray, and noticed the spoon wasn't clean, and so I asked for another one. A young woman handed me another, identically soiled spoon. I looked at it, a thin film of leftover food clung to the surface. The woman said, 'They're clean, that's just the way they are!' Mostly out of curiosity, I took the spoon to the bathroom, applied *soap,* (imagine that!) washed it just with my fingers, and voila! A clean spoon. Imagine that -- it only took soap. What, are they not putting soap in the dishwasher? I ate my chili with bread. It's a little spicy, but not bad. Alas, later, I lost the whole serving. Having eaten only a brownie later that day, at around 9 pm, I started salivating, and suddenly had to throw up the entire chili. Must be something in it. What, I wonder? Bad meat? Dirty bowls? Clearly, this Panera and its staff has an established acceptance of filth, I'm afraid. When that happens, it will get into the food. I wonder if anyone in charge will address it? We love Paneras on Taylor Dr. We've eaten here weekly for about two years. Panera's food is always healthy, fresh quality, delicious, and consistent, the dining and kitchen is always clean (I inspect!). The staff is very courteous and friendly and always recognizes us. We love their family-friendly atmosphere. The management and staff is stable and their longtime employees seem happy with their jobs. Sheboygan is fortunate to have a successful and supportive Panera's. If you're looking for cheap fast food, McDonalds is nearby. read more

I like the food at Panera, however the service at the Sheboygan, WI store is the most abysmal I have ever experienced. This is not the first time I have had an issue with the store. I had to contact corporate and the district manager in February 2021 because of customer service issues and it seemed to improve for a while, but now we are back to the lousiest service in the industry. On Aug 2, I placed an online order for 2 soups and a full salad. When I placed my online order, I asked for extra extra dressing as I always do when I go to the restaurant. The delivery order arrived with no extra dressing again (this has happened multiple times). I called the store and spoke with Maddie (the GM). Maddie apologized and refunded me the cost of the order as this is an ongoing issue and sent me cards for a free take two for next time. Maddie said she was going to speak with her management team and the employees to make sure they understood they needed to read the order slips to ensure accuracy. On Aug 8, I decided to give Panera another chance and ordered online paying full price instead of using the free cards. The exact same issue happened again; so I drove to the store, returned the food, and asked for a refund. The manager on duty Mel M told me she was not aware of an issue because Maddie never spoke to her about my concern, despite Maddie telling me she was going to address the team and managers just a week ago. Then Mel M. told me that she couldn't refund the full purchase price of my order because she couldn't get the math to work out in the system because it was an online order but she would get it as close as she can. She came close, but still shorted me in the refund, which is highly questionable and quite unethical. This location has some major issues. Terrible service, should not be allowed to call it rapid pick up. I waited and waited and finally went in only to find my food left unattended on a table. Cook apologized and said they were understaffed and busy making good. Truth is they are poorly managed. Doesn't make sense to make food that people don't receive. We took the family here last night to celebrate my daughters birthday. As we walked into the restaurant the two girls at the register looked at us and started whispering and laughing. Not for sure if the laughing was directed at us or not but it sure was uncomfortable wondering if we were being laughed at and what we were being laughed at for. We then ordered 4 kids meals and were told that drinks were included, come to find out later that they were not. After hearing that our bill was $67 my husband asked if we could see an itemized receipt and was told he could not. No one told us where we should grab our cups from or what size we could take and half off us left hungry, which after spending $67 on a meal you would think you would at least be full. The food is very good when you can get it, went to order today & they are sold out on the items I usually order, so no Panera bread today. How the heck do you sell out at a popular restaurant, they should be well stocked. On a another order the restaurant was closed due to inclement weather, we live in Wisconsin and a little snow does not justify closing. I would understand under a big storm, but not on a bit of snow. The website is a nightmare, some times it takes up to 30 minutes to get your order added, not user friendly at all. Definitely learned the hard way about checking your order before leaving. It's unbelievable the amount of complaints about the same thing. There is a screen that tells you exactly what was ordered, you simply put those items in the bag. I've been here 3 times & they have messed up my order every time! I asked to speak to the manager the last time. The manager, Lisa, could have cared less about my issues! On my last visit an employee was at the pick up window checking orders to see that they were correct according to the order ticket. She was constantly sending orders back because they were wrong. Each time is was different, zero times it was what was on menu. Service: meh, the staff always seems overwhelmed and stressed which doesn't lead to a great experience. Normally I would never review a chain restaurant. Today my family had the best dining experience at Panera. The guy taking our order was very friendly and helpful, food came out quickly, bathrooms were clean and everyone that worked there seemed to genuinely enjoy working. I ordered a turkey avocado BLT and summer corn chowder. Sorry to say I was disappointd. The sandwich was on a wheat type bread and should have been toasted or perhaps a sour dough used because it did not hold up to the fillings. It was soggy. The bacon was cold and limp and should have been nuked for a minute to give it a good texture. They mayo tasted like it had been mixed with sour cream. Love Panera, but have not had good experiences at this location. We placed an order online to be picked at 6:10. We arrived at 6:15 and there was still 3 orders ahead of ours. They only had one employee making the pickup orders on a Friday night during peak dinner hours. Our order was not ready until 6:35. It would have been quicker for us to order there and have sat down and ate instead of ordering online. We were fortunate we did not have anywhere to be and were able to wait. read more
