Love Panera early on Saturday morning. I have the app so that means I can walk and grab my table, place my order, and then pick it up when it's ready. I love the convenience of that. Coffee always tastes better when somebody else makes it but I've grown fond of their hazelnut with a pump of vanilla syrup added. I didn't have to interact with the staff today, but they're generally very pleasant. More than accommodating when I've had to ask for a little extra attention. This store is a far cry from the stores I'm used to back in Iowa...and that's a good thing. Instead of herding people like cattle through the line, I was given a pager to pick my food up at a separate window. If you have Panera's app, you can order from your table and avoid the line completely. They also have self-serve kiosks that allow you to avoid the line as well. I ordered the ham & swiss sandwich as part of my You Pick 2. It appears that Panera has upped their game somewhat, though I can't pinpoint when it would have happened. Purchasing a sandwich is atypical for me--I'm usually an Asian Sesame Chicken Salad guy. With that said, the sandwich had a delightful mustard spread--slightly sweet, with whole pieces in the spread itself. I also had a cup of the broccoli cheddar--standard Panera, no issues with it. They redid the counter display which looks nice but it is different. For example the cinnamon rolls have changed. But the girl that helped us was very nice. I love panera but the new strawberry chargered lemonade has made me very twitchy and on edge. I am not one to be sensitive to caffeine at all and this has been the worst I've experienced so far. I've read about 3 lawsuits and deaths from this and is even called "Death Lemonade." There is over 5 cans of redbull caffeine in this. I would highly suggest against this! It feels like i'm having a panic attack and a heart attack at the same time. read more

I have steered clear of being a jerk about this location for 3 years but I'm fed up. Every time on every order there is an issue. They are kind about refunds but I just can't imagine this location can survive much longer with this level of consistent problems. Sorry, Panera is striking out lately for 2 reasons. First, the basic business model. I order, I find a table, I collect the foods as they're ready, I get my own soft drinks, I get my own takeaway boxes, then I bus the table when I'm finished. That's the model-- and they charge pretty steep prices for ZERO service. Second, execution. Today: my wife and I just wanted soup and a sandwich for lunch. Her: out of standard bread, only white bread left. So she gets a salad. Him: only white bread, but out of lettuce too! So he gets a pastry instead. That's lunch now: salad + chili and soup + pastry. Iced coffee? Fix it yourself, here's a cup. Sugar? Over here. Creamer? On the other side of the room. The pager never goes off. I chase down the food. I get the wrong soup. Here's the right soup. Oh, but with a dirty spoon. Yes, that's your latte sitting there; it's lukewarm. So I order, take our 2nd choices, and act like a server for 10 full minutes before it's all finally together on the table. I did everything but dish out the soup and chili myself. For this 2nd rate lunch? $26!! Sorry Panera, this just doesn't hack it. read more

Clearly the new Kiosk ordering has only enhanced the level of non-service at Panera bread. Placed an order for a cappuccino and bear claw for dine in through the kiosk. Paid for it, grabbed my little pager and proceeded to wait. 7 min passed as I watched the two cashiers play flirty with each other..and snapchat. Finally I said something to the manager and he gives me an excuse. I told him I didn't want an excuse I just wanted my order....and voila!! 2 min later I had my stale bear claw and cold over priced cappuccino...no apology nada.. 10 min later...the manager walks over and hands me a few comps...thank you...but really?? Figure it out Panera, I used to be a 200-300 dollar a week customer. I think I'm going to find someone else who values my business and appreciates the value of good customer service. Some people have been mentioning the cashiers as a problem here. I used them once and have used the kiosks ever since. If you do your own order on the kiosk, you can't go wrong. You can customize and also save your favorite meals if you join their rewards program. I really like that feature. It also makes ordering a breeze. No errors and the kitchen does a good job on the custom orders. My best advice for you is to go to a Kiosk and not the cashier and you will be fine. Good clean food. The family and I showed up at this location at 8pm, a full hour before closing time. I double-checked the time, because it looked like the employees were trying to handle all the closing duties early, as tables were pulled out and chairs misplaced due to sweeping. Only two of the 30-40 tables were filled with customers. I don't fully understand Panera's angle here, but the floor was completely soaked by an employee who was heavily mopping, so it was no surprise that my 5-year old son slipped and fell. Nobody working apologized for the overly wet condition of the floors, nor did they ask if he was OK. The sandwiches my family had were nothing special, and leaning toward bland. The lemon chicken soup tasted like nothing more than warm water. I hadn't been to a Panera in several years prior to stopping by this one, and I'm quite sure it will be several years (if not longer) until I go back. read more

I've placed multiple orders at this location for delivery? They never deliver any of the beverages that are ordered as part of the order. When you call to the store, they tell you that they use a third-party service "DoorDash "and they won't be able to assist. Unfortunately, you have no way to contact DoorDash because you ordered through the Panera app and therefore they say it's a Panera issue. So today I had placed an order to which they did not deliver the beverage and I contacted the store to ask why it is an ongoing issue. The young lady that I spoke with told me that it was a DoorDash issue, and there was nothing to do with her and she could help. I explained to her that it was an ongoing issue, and I would like to talk to the manager to which she stated she was the manager. And I told her well, since she didn't seem to care to pass me along to her boss, who she claimed was the general manager. When I ask what her name was for my records to know who I spoke with when I called about the complaint. She said she did not have to give her name. I asked her if she was the manager she said yes, I said then. Who is the manager's name that I'm speaking with? She said she's not giving me her name and hung up the phone. A few moments later she called back and claimed that the call was disconnected. However, when I answered the phone she said hello this is Chelsea from Panera giving you a call back. So I asked her why she hung up the phone and refused to give her name. She said she's not going to give me her name because of privacy reasons. I said I understand I'm not asking you for anything other than what your first name is for my records to know when I talk to your manager who I spoke with. She again said I'm not going to give you my name. I told her that's fine because she had already said when she returned my call that her name is Chelsea, correct. She then hung up the phone. I've gone to many Paneras, because I love their iced green tea way too much. I see many bad reviews for this place, but it was all review from years ago. I feel like this place definitely improved. I come here often since my boyfriend lives pretty close to this place. The service has always been quick and friendly (for me). The most they've messed up on my order was twice, but each time they fixed it to my liking and gave me something in return. My wife stopped here yesterday for a quick dinner before an evening meeting at church in Eden Prairie. After waiting in line to order while the staff took care of a family with small children she noticed that the staff sort of disappeared. One staff person commented to her that she was "off duty" and could not help her. Several minutes more passed with nobody taking her order (while they milled around behind the service counter), same "off duty" staff person commented to her "you came at the wrong time, we're changing shifts." At that point (with no notice or protestations by the shift-changing staff) she left. So if you're looking for a place to eat, try Applebee's. read more

Went into the Panera in shakopee this evening for dinner around 6:45. No one was in front of us in line and there were no other orders on the screen. I ordered a pick two with a sandwich and soup and they didn't inform me they were out of the bread it comes on. They proceeded to just put it on different bread instead of ask if I wanted different bread or something else. My boyfriend ordered a simple bowl of soup. It took us 15-20 minuets to get our order, and remember no one was ahead of us, as there was only one guy on the line looking completely lost as the other two walked away as five people walked in and ordered. It was a train wreck. I hope someone steps up training and gets this store back in shape as it seems that the manager doesn't care much about the training efforts put in this store. read more
