This place has been consistently filthy the handful of times I have visited. Sticky floors, all dirty tables. Every time. My mom and I each ordered a turkey avocado BLT and both were completely thrown together, only one half slice of bacon and missing the avocado completely. When my mom went to let them know, the two girls behind the counter rolled their eyes like we were inconveniencing them. Could not believe the lack of care in this establishment, which is too bad because normally we really love Panera at other locations. Something needs to be done. Another time I ordered a soup in a bread bowl for dine-in and the lady practically threw a giant bag at me saying they don't have a dishwasher so everything is to-go, which meant my bread bowl and soup were packed in several different containers that had to all be pulled out, unwrapped, and assembled. Food is the only reason we go there occasionally. Coffee is warm at best, never hot. The service is okay if you can get past the workers arguing amongst themselves. The number one issue with this location is the management. Change or train the manager and you will change the service and atmosphere. I have visited once a week for 3 weeks. Every order has been WRONG! I ordered in the app and got one of the chicken salads with no chicken. So that defeated the curbside pickup plan cause I had to go in the store. I tried an app order again and got a breakfast sandwich with no bacon. Again, I had to get out of the car. Kudos for making the sandwich over and correctly. The third times a charm, right? No it isn't... not at this location. I didn't get all my items in my drive through order so I had to park and go in the store AGAIN! I walked in and a guy looked at me as he was getting a fountain beverage. I spoke first and then noticed he had on a uniform/work attire. I asked him if he was the manager. He said yeah...never asked how can I help you. I told him my item had been left out of the bag in the drive thru. He went to the back and must have prepared it as it took a few minutes. Their indoor dining was closed and only allowed for drive through. Our order was wrong and we had to reorder because they gave it to the people ahead of us. We waited forever and the order was wrong and they gave us one spoon for three soups. This was literally worse than subway. We had to go back through the drive through because they gave us a half salad when we ordered a full. They also gave us a tuna sandwich on Rosemary focaccia when we had asked for wheat bread. I went in one day just after Christmas, and there were only four people eating in the entire place; they clearly weren't busy; my express to-go order was late, and when I got home, it was missing my side item. Filthiest Panera I have ever been to in my life. The lobby was completely riddled with trash all over the floor, and tables were covered in bits of leftover food. There were big pieces of trash, napkins, and food particles all over the floor. It had been pretty clear that nobody had been there to do any cleaning in the lobby in a long time -and it was an empty dining room at 1 PM on a Saturday. The bathroom was even worse. Someone made a mess all over the handicap ladies room and no one had obviously been in there to check it and clean it . There was toilet paper and paper towel strewn about all over the bathroom. It was obvious that they weren't cleaning the dining room or the bathroom, and it was a massive concern about how clean the kitchen was. The avocado was hard and when I called the establishment to report that I did not appreciate them cutting cucumber consistency avocado and placing it on my sandwich like that was OK, the manager had a attitude with me. She offered to replace my sandwich reluctantly. If you have to absolutely have Panera bread then go ahead and eat here, but if you don't I would avoid. There is absolutely no management at this Panera Bread location in Salisbury. Waiting 15 minutes in a drive-through with 2 cars in front of you is unacceptable. Then to get a " we don't have what you ordered" when it's your turn at the window. While they tried to find something else for me I watched through the shut window with one lady standing around, literally rolling her thumbs around and not wearing her mask correctly. Either don't wear it or pull it up around the food and at the window. By the way, this was breakfast time. Go figure, when I got home my egg sandwich was on the wrong bread! Also, I won't go into the time I ordered one of their flat-bread pizza's ( 15 minutes, in the drive-through) and when they opened the window to give it to me the wind blew it out and onto the ground....they didn't tape the box shut. We are currently quarantining and half the order did not arrive (Empty box for our pizza) We ordered through the Panera app(which states nothing about using doordash) we were advised WE would have contact DoorDash and get a new driver out. After we asked for a refund we were told WE needed to contact DoorDash. We call DoorDash and we were told the restaurant needs to do the refund. First time here in a couple of years, due to bad experience with last visit. Gift card brought me back. Wife and I ordered; two souffles (lukewarm, had to heat them in the microwave); sesame bagel (got plain one); honey walnut cream cheese (got plain cream cheese); cappuccino (wife had to "doctor" it to make it good). Dining room was cold. The few other diners and us all had to wear our coats while we ate. When I asked about why it was cold in the dining room, was told that it was cold outside ( I thought that was why heating systems were invented! Our visit was several hours after they opened, so there was plenty of time to get the dining room to a comfortable temperature for guests). Yes, one star. We used to order online from Panera a great deal. Unfortunely, over the last 2 years their service has gotten worse and worse. Prior to December 2019 there had already been 2 messed up orders. These are ONLINE orders so the order is right in front of the employee. The last time we ordered was 12/21/19 and between giving my boyfriend the wrong soup, plastic in my sandwich, and giving us 2 chocolate chip cookies when we ordered oatmeal berry, we decided not to patron Panera any more. Today, I lapsed. I had a $5 off a 'you-pick-two" and I used it. My sandwich was done correctly but I ordered my salad with extra apple chips...at the cost of an extra .60. When I opened it, there were no apple chips. NONE. I went to Panera and I was not the least bit polite as this. The first thing out of the assistant manager's mouth when I pointed out the 'extra apple chips' (that cost an extra .60 cent) was we are out of apple chips. She had no answer as to why the employee who made the order didn't note that on the bag, wait to prepare the salad until I arrived for my pick-up so that I could decide, or CALL ME as my phone number is attached to my Panera Rewards. I have had enough of this crappy restaurant in Salisbury. Do not bother to frequent it or order online unless you are prepared to walk in the kitchen and make sure they make the food correctly. read more

I love Panera though I don't go to this one anymore. I have ran into panhandlers three times and someone wanting a ride in another visit. It is an unsafe area. For awhile, they had a wait staff person who talked a lot and seemed to want a tip though I prefer going up to pick up my own food and clearing my own table. It annoyed me.
