My lunch was over and I called ahead an hour before my lunch and still no food! 20 minutes AFTER my break....the delivery driver calls and says he is at the door. I ordered a smoothie and it was hot as hell. I called the store and I told them I was coming to get another after I got off work. Also the food was not good. Alright. Panera bread for the win here - I was there this afternoon to pick up a broth bowl and flatbread. They forgot the flatbread, but I didn't realize until I was home. When I called, the manager immediately apologized and sent me a gift card to make up for the error. His name is John, and he was genuine, helpful, and friendly. While the error was a bit of a pain, his willingness to fix it so quickly made up for it and then some. I will be back...and hopefully, they'll get everything right. read more

Self-serve is another way of saying "If you want something done right, you better do it yourself." Probably the best Panera experience I've ever had. Why is that you might ask? Because customers here have the ability to "fast pass" the ordering process and take most of the employee engagement out of it. It's not so much that I've ever had a problem with Panera employees, it's just that the normal ordering experience seems to blow the average Panera customer's mind. Here more than most other places, customers' brains seem to shut down as they approach the registers. Their eye's roll back, and their mouths go mute. At most they can mouth a guttural "ummmmm" after about a 30 second pause. Eventually, their request for a bowl of creamy broccoli soup stumbles out of their pie hole and finally, the line slogs up two paces. Well, those days are gone if you are not technologically stunted. There are about 4 iPad-style screens as you enter the restaurant. You place your order, swipe your card, grab a pager, enter the pager number into the screen and take a seat. Once seated, you place your pager on top of the table number plaque embedded in table, and voila!, a few minutes later, your order is delivered. This will be the first time you've come face to face with an employee. You also have the option of ordering on your phone from your table. I haven't tried this, but I'm sure it's easier to use their hardware than use the app on your phone. The food? It's a Panera. It's totally fine. It's predictable, the soups are nice and creamy, and your grandmother loves it. I noticed a large selection of flavored ice teas, those that's a nice option instead of soda. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Horrible customer service! Paid $42 for food that never came. Called to speak to someone and they said it would be another hour! Said door dash was taking over their delivery ( this was never mentioned on their website- and said the order would arrive in 25 minutes) we called after it was a half hour late to be told that door dash is "slow" and it would be another hour. I've eaten here many times over the past three years, they give you a high quality sandwich with top quality ingredients. The price is a little high for what you get. I would recommend you order ahead to cut down the wait. They can be slow at times and if customer volume is high they seem to really get bogged down. I will never go to the Pewaukee location again. Service slow, had to ask twice to have my bagels sliced, the cashier didn't know what freezer bags are. The cashier took off one of his gloves, wiped off his runny nose with a tissue and put the gloves back on without washing his hands and changing his gloves. I cancelled my order right then. I work in the health care field and have never seen something so gloss in my life. The cashier was also coughing with his mouth open. The funny thing is one of the manager's was working right beside him. I ran into someone leaving the restaurant and she told me her order was wrong, Instead of giving her oatmeal they gave her an oatmeal cookie, she was not pleased. You'd think that if they have specific people hired to double check your order that they would get it right. but NO! This is absolutely the worst service I've ever had. Today for example. Ordered a Mac and cheese, that's it. The guy at the window said I needed to pull to the side, which was weird since they dont have to make the Mac and cheese, you just throw it in a bowl and that's it. This place is going downhill fast. PB&J for daughter was a mound of jelly and PB in the center of bread, not spread to outsides. Really...never thought I would complain about the quality of a PB&J. Panini was burnt and stuck to the cardboard they cook it on and my GF's salad had a black piece of rotten lettuce in it. All for $23! Stopped in for a simple order of mac and cheese to go. Waited over 20min with nobody calling my name for the order. Multiple employees walked past and looked at us without saying a word. After waiting for so long, we stopped an employee to ask about our food, and she claims she said my name every few minutes. No one told us where to pick up our food. I admit it, I like Panera as a place to read, write and study because of their free drink refills and wi-fi. I don't like eating a lot of meat and I struggle with the menu at lunch time (at breakfast time I'm thrilled with the bagels, or a baked egg souffle - YUM!) because there's just so much chicken everywhere. I do very much like their black bean soup and have settled on always getting that. I find their coffee to be pretty weak, but I like coffee that is strong enough to smack me in the face, so I'm hard to please in that category. read more

So not only do you pay more but now you have to order it yourself! So really you don't have to use the kiosk but it will end up that way at some point. So it took longer to figure out what to order then forgot drinks and had to go back a screen to get that taken care of. In the end it is what it is. It's like no one wants to actually talk to you anymore. The menu changed again. The panini selection is slim and now they have a bunch of flatbreads. They helped me pick this sandwich that had chicken on it with avocados and other veggies. The thing was so good. Only sad thing is that I'm a Jew. The sandwich was small for the price. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. I come to this Panera quite a bit as a convenience because it is so close to my work. My favorites are the Breakfast Power Sandwich and the soups. Love the soups. The staff is friendly and helpful and the place is kept nice and clean. They can tend to take a little long sometimes to get your food to you when it's busy, but all in all, this is a great location. read more

I'm not the one to complain because I work in customer service so I understand how it is and I respect the employees and restaurants that I go to. That being said this is by far the WORST Panera bread I've been to. I've been in there once a week for the past 4 months because it's the closest one to my boyfriends work. Also it has a drive through which I love. Unfortunately tho 98% of the time I go there, they're either out of my favorite food items or they forget something in my order or both. You would think by now they would learn to order more so they don't run out of the popular items. The chain takes into consideration the waste that they'll have just like every other chain restaurant. I called them after the 6th time to complain nicely and the guy manager (forgot his name because it was 2 months ago) said he would be sending me a free you pick two coupon in the mail for my inconvenience. I had received it and was SUPER ANNOYED when i saw it was only a coupon for a free drink. What's the free drink going to do for me when I'm now down at least $20 for them forgetting items in my order all the time. This past time they were out of the white bread for the grilled cheese (which whatever I'm use to it by now because 99% of the time they're out of anyways) and they forgot my cookie which I used a reward for. DEFINITELY going to be calling them tomorrow to complain again for the 2nd time. read more

This is without a doubt the very worse Panera, management wise, that I have ever experienced. Food, good but their Manager, Liz was extremely rude when I called about a delivery being at that point already 25 minutes late and still not here. First of all, she right out lied to me saying she told me delivery would be 25 minutes later than when I called order in. Proof came on my receipt which clearly stated the delivery time agreed on. She tried to blame ME for the late delivery! I explained that we are a very busy office with a limited time for lunch and I was rudely told by her that there was nothing she could do about the fact that we didn't "get to eat 25 minutes ago".She also said she would do nothing about it and when I insisted on talking to a manager, she claimed that she was it, another fabrication. I stated that she was being rude and there was someone above her I was sure. She then said yes and when I insisted I wanted to speak to them, she pretended to put me on hold but actually hung up on me. Our doctor had to go without lunch because of the ineptness of this place. Also, try getting a call through to place an order....I was disconnected 3x before actually getting a live person and that was at 10:30 in the morning! No different in the afternoon. I have always been a long-standing customer of St. Louis Bread Co./Panera Bread. (From St. Louis) But this store knocked it out of the park!! We are visiting from out of state. Met friends for a quick dinner (12 of us). Food was delicious....we had a variety of salads, Mac-n-cheese, hot sandwiches, & soups. Our food came in a timely manner. Two of our dishes were incorrect. They promptly made corrections, upgraded portions, gave us free cookies for our inconvenience, AND the manager came over to give us his sincere apology & a free meal coupon for a future visit! I work right down the road from Panera so I always go through the drive through so I can eat at my desk and get more work done. However this location is so terrible I am now done and will be taking my business elsewhere. Nine times out of ten something in my order is forgotten to the point where I have now taken it upon myself to avoid the lunch rush all together and get there before 11:30 or after 1 pm to avoid mistakes because they ALWAYS make mistakes, most of them costly. This particular time they didn't put one of my bottles of water with my order and my sandwich was pretty much just scattered in the wrapping, not even assembled. Other times they forget my side, forget half of my pick two, or forget the utensils needed to even eat their food! I'm not even sure they double check the orders before handing them off. read more
