Sad little sandwich - pork schnitzel

The schnitzels were dry, thin, odd flavor, small and overall not a pleasant experience. Esp after waiting over 20 mins for two sandwiches. I make schnitzel at home and they are million times better than the ones had here. Sorry, I'm all about praising small businesses but I can't lie and say I enjoyed it when I didn't.

Found via Seed Oil Scout - This restaurant is absolutely incredible. Food is Seed Oil Free, Safe Fries, Beef Tallow, PFAS safe & Local. Some of the best food I have ever had. What we order & pictured: Traditional Schnitzel Sandwich With Kaiser bun - incredible Traditional Schnitzel Sandwich With Pretzel bun - amazing Large Pork Schnitzel Fingers - Crisp & Juicy!  "Classic" Bratwurst - Bun was amazing and the Bratwurst is delicious Sauerkraut side - Some of the best I've ever had Cheese Pretzel Käsebrezel (Not pictured we ate too fast!) - Warm, soft and amazing texture Cheese Bacon Pretzel Käsespeck-Brezel (not pictured we ate it too fast!) - Texture and taste was incredible Bo's Curry Ketchup - Very interesting flavor or profile but amazing, recommended Potato Salad - Homemade and taste is extremely defined Black Forest Cookie - Soft & not over-baked Everything was amazing, no stomach issues and the food is made with a lot of care and love. The owner is from Frankfurt, Germany. I can say with certainty that this is better than all of the places I have eaten in Germany & Austria. If you want authentic Germany food - I suggest going here. Danke, mein Deutscher Bruder

Schnitzel on pretzel bun, potato salad, sauerkraut

So good! We devoured the pretzels before we remembered to snag pictures- those & the gooey cookies were my favorites

Charming place with a quaint, lakeside dining ambience. The food quality is great, but the flavors didn't really work for me. I was expecting German Wisconsin style and it's actually more German Indian food. The schnitzel breading has yellow turmeric and other curry spices. It was really unexpected and totally ruins the schnitzel. The chicken schnitzel has potential, but the curry spices and side of curry dipping sauce should really just be an option on the menu. Sadly, this is what I got and it wasn't appetizing. I also ordered a brat. Again, good quality, clean food, but the brat is only lightly browned and served with cold sauerkraut. Another disappointment. Their sauerkraut is a tasty cold salad however, but I'm looking for warm kraut on a warm, grilled or smoked brat. Overall, the brat was okay, but it's not something I would return for. The charming sidewalk location and lakeside dining atmosphere make it a special place to visit. The schnitzel and brat have potential. I would recommend classic schnitzel and brat options on the menu, and then the Indian curry version as an option. I'm a bit of a brat snob being here from Wisconsin. Traditional schnitzel is so darn good. Taking a bite into curry schnitzel was odd and unpleasant. I didn't order Indian food and the schnitzel and sauce taste like chicken curry. Didnt realize that's what I was getting. Really thought it would be closer to German or Wisconsin flavors.

Over priced. Greasy thin schnitzel. Long chaotic wait. Cucumber salad was the highlight of my order.

Just tried Bo's for the first time. We had the platter with potato salad. YUM. We'll be back. Glad it's so close to home.

The $25 half chicken was overcooked and dry, and since last year the $30 pork wasn't so good we didn't even try it. However, the entertainment was nice and overall very enjoyable.

It's been a long time since I've been to this Oktoberfest. Finally made a return over the weekend…read moreand totally forgot what a big, electric crowd it brings! Parking was a wild time, as they were directing people to an entirely different lot down the way, so it was a bit of hike to get to the entrance. Once we parked, we waited in like for 10 minutes or to get through the gates. I was tipped off the downland the Bavarian's app ahead of time, which got me $5 off my entry (and it was free from my little kiddo in tow). If you're looking for all the great German beer, German music, and German cuisine, this is your place! It's so fun to see how many attendees dress to theme in their lederhosens, dirndls, and hats. Some of the staff dress up as well, and of course those preforming on stage! We came to find out this isn't the greatest fest to take young kids, as the crowds are big, the lines are long, and the music (be it so fun and festive), is really loud. I'm sure we would have stayed longer if it was an adult-only trip. In any case, the food and drink are fare price. I'm now regretting not ordering the traditional pretzel and sausage options, but splitting a tasty platter of tenders and fries with my son hit the spot. Being pregnant, I'm not drinking, but friends we were with has nothing but great things to say about their German pints. The beer steins are of course an option which is a fun touch. Hot tip: if you can book a table reservation ahead of time, do so! That's what we did and it was a good call since this place is poppin. Happy official Fall! Enjoy!

Thanks as always to Yelp for finding OGBH - because this place is AWESOME! We wanted to sit at the bar, but the bar was busy, so we grabbed a table in the other room and the bartender came to us about 4 minutes later and said there were 2 spots at the bar! So, we moved to the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the next 3 hours - we might still be there, if it wasn't for the Brewers game we had tickets to! We enjoyed several different beers on tap, talked with the bartenders - specifically Mitch and Sarah and of course the other people at the bar. We enjoyed the OGBH Brat - for sure the best brat I have ever had. The bun is perfectly warm and toasty, the brat is delicious and full of flavor and of course, it's snappy! We even tried the bavarian pretzel with the yummy cheese! I love this place - I don't have to search for anywhere else to go now that I have found this gem!

I'm not a beer drinker myself, so I always go for a liter of the root beer. I'm not even a huge root beer fan, but it feels fitting when I visit here. I love their chicken schnitzel tenders. The ranch here is so well-flavored and compliments the thin breading on the tenders.
