I have been to many Panera Bread restaurants and always enjoy going to a new opening to see how things are going. This location in Patchogue is much needed. It's laid out nicely in for a tight location. The manager did a nice job in hiring and training his staff. It's very clean and the tables are wiped down as soon as someone leaves, even during the busy lunch and dinner times. They are spot on in maintaining the correct amount of the popular items. I was at the Panera Bread location in Riverhead earlier today and where out of the black bean soup and out of Mac n cheese! How can you be out of mac n cheese at 4:30 in the afternoon?? I drove to this location and just in a general conversation w the manager told him about my Riverhead experience. He comped me 2 mac n cheeses! They get a star just for that. The bread bowl filled with "homemade " types of soup are very popular as are the various healthy salads. The sandwiches could use another slice or two of the meat and cheeses as the bread are sliced kinda thick. read more

I've never had an issue with this Panera unlike OTHER locations I won't name (*COUGHcheck out my review for the Farmingdale locationCOUGH*). Staff is pretty nice, my order's always correct, food tastes Panera-y, like you know, not life changing or anything but it satisfies my cravings every now and again. I ordered 1 salad and two sandwiches for my family, I know one come with a baguette, great. The other two come with chips. Yay, Thats what we wanted. They gave us #3 baguettes. Quite honestly the last thing I want with a sandwich is another hunk of bread. I know "they" know this, but,it was later in the evening they were trying to dump their old bread on a take out customer. Its so annoying cause they know you aren't going to drive back and look like a jerk for 2 bags of chips. But really??? I always loved the food at Panera bread. But lately it seems that they are cutting the portions down much smaller and charging the same price. The soup bowls are only filled half way. The sandwiches and paninis have very little meat and cheese on them. The salads are still a good size.This is very disappointing. We were going there a few times a month. But I think we've decided to switch to Applebee's and TJIF's. Penny wise pound foolish guys. I'm not the only Customer who's noticed this change. read more

This Panera location is usually a convenient stop on the way home after a long day. I would have given this establishment a five star review until I opened the salad I ordered. First and foremost, there was an overwhelming amount of radicchio in the salad. It was bland and shamefully shriveled. Then, I requested no bacon because of a severe allergy my 2nd husband has, and they smothered the salad in bacon. As if that wasn't offensive enough, the avocado was hard and claylike. I will never look at avocado the same. I'm willing to give this place another go in the future, but for now, Panera is OFF THE LIST! read more

The food was fine and the service and people working there are great it's just way too crowded. To the point where there is no where to sit. All the tables are taken by people with books and laptops so now no one who actually wants to sit and eat can sit there. Wayyyyyy to go. read more

I honestly have no complaints when it comes to this location. The food is always on point. They never mess up my order. The green tea is LIFE I recommend everyone to try it. I really like Panera but this location leaves a lot to be desired. Since the pandemic, I've been ordering curbside. There is a sign that says to stay in your car. The manager came out and put my order on the table set three feet from the curb. I asked him to move the table closer. He actually said to me " sir, if I do that for you, I will have to do that for everyone," and he then proceeded to leave. I said that means I have to get out of my car while in a fire zone and defeats the purpose of curbside pick up. Especially since they tell you to stay in your car. The manager was not very nice and I was not very nice back at him which was wrong. He picked up my food and started to leave saying that he would refund my money. I apologized for being nasty. However, this incident culminates a series of slights and rude behavior not only by this manager, but by the staff as well. The service is not that great to begin with and sadly it seems that they don't like their job. Lastly, the assistant manager looks like he's overworked and needs a shave and a bath and an attitude adjustment. This may be where all this attitude comes from. Anyway, I now drive an extra five minutes to a different Panera and I have yet to have a problem. read more

I have been eating at Panera for years. I was happy when they opened this location. The parking is almost always easy. I loved the way I can order online and the rapid pickup is always ready by the time I get there. This location often doesn't leave the cup with your bag which can be confusing because some Paneras do. Also I am not sure when I order a whole sandwich why sometimes I get pickle spears and other times I don't? All in all absolutely delicious in my opinion. A little pricey though. I get a cheese sandwich with the chips and a soda and it's just under $10. read more

This location is the absolute worst! I've been a loyal customer for years, and enjoy my "you pick 2", but will never again go Riverhead Panera. The manager Mary was unbelievably rude. The person running food was also inept to do her job. In fact when I asked for the managers name she said she could not give out due to privacy. I reassured her I just wanted the first name and again would not cooperate. Just blatantly rude staff. Manager accused my 7 and 8 year old of stealing beverages bc they had water cups, indeed filled with water and put a splash of fruit punch bc there was no lemons. I then again reassured her they are children and it is in fact water in the water cups. She also said when I asked for kids she can't provide bc it's water. I told her they are children and water can spill. Her reply was well it's just water. Well mary......i prefer my kids not just be covered in water. I suggested this place because the vibe is super chill and Panera has some of my favorite foods along with it being affordable. Happy to see this place open up but getting annoyed with pick up. I get soup often and it's a 50-50 chance I will get croutons with the onion bistro soup. Also I do not like the people "checking" the food orders, takes longer to get food, can sit there while they are away delivering and no gloves. I don't care if food is wrapped you are touching everything and stop having personal conversations with other staff that again make getting food longer. read more

I love Panera Bread normally. It's my favorite restaurant normally, even if it is fast food, but this specific location has given me issues. The employees aren't exactly the most attentive. I am a bit of a picky eater and I love the Balsamic dressing there so I always ask for extras and normally to make sure I ask at the counter just in case but this time was special. I had ordered take out at the fast lane, if you have been to it recently you know the one, and asked very clearly for extra and made sure my receipt said it. As we go up to the counter an employee and what I could only assume to be their friend or ride home walk up next to us. No big deal, they get their food and then strike a conversation with the person behind the counter. My fiance and I remain calm and wait for the girl to break away to say our names. She doesn't. She just puts the bag and receipt in front of the woman she's talking to. Not trying to be rude we sneak up, look at the faded receipt and after careful examination determine it's ours. Instead of asking if they fulfilled our order, we check to make sure we had everything that was asked and leave. The woman used the trick of putting two bags in one so we could only make out our orders shapes so I had no idea whether or not my dressing request was filled. It hadn't been and I was furious when we got home. None of the vegetables in my salad had been cut correctly and it had been filled with mostly onions but that's nothing compared to what my fiance found. He ordered the Soba Noodles and found two long hairs in his food and we both have pretty short hair so it was obvious where it came from. Panera Bread is still my favorite but until this location hires new staff I won't be returning and I suggest anyone who took the time to read this does the same. read more

I found the food great here, just like the other locations I've been to, but I was really disappointed with the shortage of seating at this location. You order and pay for your food at the order counter, and they give you a locator device to place on your table so they know where to bring you your food; that i think is great. Then you look for a table to sit at and see quite a few groups of people at various tables and booths who have finished their meals and are working with their laptops or having business meetings. I know this in itself may not be Panera's fault, but it is definitely their PROBLEM if a customer has to wait for a table to sit at AFTER placing the food order and paid for it. The people doing business meetings and working on their laptops look at you like you have two heads if you ask them if they will be leaving soon so others can sit down. They have finished eating. When I finally got a table, the same people I am talking about were still sitting there as my wife and I were leaving. Are they rude? I'm not sure, but it would be nice if Panera at least had a sign at each table asking customers to be considerate and not abuse(?) the lunch hour completely. This place is way too small for this type of business. the Bohemia and Lake Grove locations are fine, even with the "long timers". Yeah, I tend to complain sometimes, but I think I'm right here! read more
