This was my first time ever eating from Panera but I will definitely be having it again soon! I can't believe they aren't more well known for their pastries because holy crap they are delicious! I tried the pecan braid as well as the bear paw both were so fresh and hit the sweet tooth perfectly. Came to try their bear claw pastry. It was $3.19 plus tax. It was not too sweet and had slivered almonds and glaze on top. Quite light and tasty. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Definitely an alternative to come and try baked goods in comparison to donuts and muffins from Tims. read more

The one in Whitby and the now closed one in Ajax are poor representatives of the chain. I'll drive up from the 401 to this location any day. read more

Panera Bread is a cross between a bakery and sandwich shop. It has a number of artisan bagels and breads to take home, but also serves soups and hot/cold sandwiches. The food is fantastic. Fresh, full of flavour and portioned well for lunch. i.e. not too larger, but ample to leave you feeling satisfied. (Persons of a larger appetite may find themselves left wanting...) I've been waiting 3 years for one to open in the east end. After working in Markham, I was hooked. I began dragging my friends and mother as soon as I found out they were open. The breads are my favourite; fresh, fresh, fresh. The portions are perfect and the pricing seems high until you experience the quality of the food. The service is always great. The cashiers are cheerful and informative. I love that the buzzer has GPS, so they can find you when your food is ready.Even on a busy day, the wait for food is shorter than your wait in line. This Panera frustrates me, they're always out of something. One day it's the bread for their sandwiches, the next day it's their bagels, the next day it's their Mac n cheese. It's gotten to the point where I've come up with backup orders just Incase they don't have what I want (which is common). Panera bread in general is cool, it's like a boujee version of Timmy hoes (still love me some Timmy's). The Mac n cheese is super creamy and rich however it's super overpriced. I love their paninis though! This meal came to $14 (pick 2). Parking is always fine. Drive thru takes 10 minutes on average. Employees are always nice. read more

The experience of Panera Bread is interesting. Walking in, it's very much like a bakery. You approach the counter and place your order, and then take a seat in the dining area. A tracker is placed on your table and they bring you your food. We sat for about 5 minutes and our food arrived, very quick. I ordered a chicken soba broth bowl and a tomato mozzarella flat bread. The broth was hot, and filled with soba noodles. Very umami taste and very filling. Wonderful. The flatbread was very good, but very oily, and I'm not really sure where the oil came from. Defiantly a lunch, soup, salad, deli kind of place. My favourite dish is the broccoli cheddar soup. Staff is nice but I feel like they need to advertise more of what the employees do. What I mean by that is, it's not fast food but it's not a sit down restaurant either. The servers bring you your food and are suppose to clean up after you are done/or leave but they have stations "garbage", "utensils", "dishes" etc so the first couple times I went it seemed like you're suppose to clean up after yourself but you're not, they do it but there not really around and there's these clean up stations. I know it's just easier for them that way but it's just something that is as costumer a should know. I would go back. read more

I love Panera as a cafe and was so excited to see one in Oshawa open up a couple years ago. I noticed as time went in through, the serving sizes got smaller and they would always forget and item from our order. Turkey Bacon Bravo, three words I enjoy saying now, since my first visit to Panera. I am a sandwich guy, I love sandwiches, and first impressions are lasting impressions. Panera you have a new fan. What about the prices you ask? Well for a treat once in awhile, they are just fine. But if you eat there a couple times a week, be prepared to spend a bit. The food quality to cost radio is pretty good. A few bucks more than say a fast food burger joint, but we'll worth it. I'll be back, and in greater numbers. read more

I ordered a pick-two deal to split: got a steak & white cheddar sandwich for my husband and a turkey avocado sandwich for myself. The bread was so delicious! The turkey itself was a little bland, needed some seasoning. However, the pick-two deal only gives you 1/2 sandwiches, so I was still hungry afterwards. read more

Finally decided to check out this place to see what the hype is all about. I had the pick 2 deal and on my 1st visit tried the tuna sandwich with the watermelon salad. I was immediately hooked on the salad! You get a choice of chips or a piece of bread. I really like this place, the bread is always fresh but it's just to expensive for me. After a very yummy lunch I left my bag by accident at the restaurant and then drove for 40 min. When I realized what I had done I called them right away. The manager had spotted my bag and tucked it away for safe keeping. I got back another 45 min later and was greeted by the staff. They were waiting for me and had my bag and all it's contents. Very few options and the sandwich I did get was $9 for a few slices of tomato and a bit of cheese thrown on bread. I am wondering if my earlier, disappointed review was removed. The situation was certainly not redressed in anyway, and after the first customer service person "hung up on me" the second and third call were not returned. The food is NOT fast, nor correct, nor packaged in a way that makes sense. I went to this location in late January, ordered 5 items, and was handed, unwrapped a can of lemonade, a bun, and a cookie, so between holding those items, two small children and their art projects from nearby art classes, it was challenging to carry out my order. I actually said, when our name was called, could the server confirm that there were 5 items in the bag as I was not easily able to do it (put the unwrapped items on the crowded bench?) and she assured me there was. I arrived home to less than half of our order and a hungry spouse returning from the ajax airport. totally disappointing and their only suggestion (before hanging up) was I return (25 minutes in the car) to get a refund. read more
