    'Small' Gyro Pita

For years, I've heard how awesome Pita Deli is. It's time for me to give it a shot. Hope you're hungry, because this is no wussy pita. Thought you would have a small pita? They just don't do small. Going for the large pita? Heehee. Good luck! Pita Deli is a locally owned, family run shop. It has some seating, but it's more of a take-out place. I love this place. The people that work there are fun and know their pitas. When they say the hot sauce is HOT, believe them!! All of the toppings are fresh and full of flavour. The prices are very reasonable. It's perfect for lunch or supper and you will NOT be hungry after. Saving room for dessert is not an option.

    Garlic Chicken on a salad

Yum! I had been hearing only great things about Pita Deli and everything was true! The portions are huge and the food is delicious! I had the garlic chicken on a salad. I planned on eating only half of the generous portion but I couldn't stop, despite being full... it was too good! Highly recommend you go here!

Montreal Smoked Meat about to get sliced n diced

I was told of this Whitby hotspot that suggested I get off the 401 before heading back West into the city. Boy am I ever glad I listened. This place had a double line of 20 ppl inside the store and 8 or so outside the door waiting to get in. Now if this was Subway, good luck getting your lunch within your 'break'! I was out the door tho in under 5 mins!!! I really wanted a Chicken pita, but when I saw the way they microwaved the chicken for 40 seconds I said no way. Thankfully however the freshly heated Montreal Smoked Meat saved the day. I witnessed first hand the Montreal Smoked Meat as the meat slicer quickly ate away at the meat slab. Stuffed into a pita and then packed w Humus, Pickles, Fresh lettuce, tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. What a dream. $10 w a water. The pita was huge!!!!! "that's what she said..." but seriously, it was 3x's the size of any pita I've ever seen! "that's what she said..." haha. A must go, but not too close to your diner. Seriously, this is the measuring stick for all pita joints.

This one of Whitby's treasures and well worth stopping into anytime you drive by on the 401 as it's right off the Thickson Rd. Exit. at NE the corner of Thickson and Champlain beside Don Cherry's. Family owned and operated by the Zahid family, this small lunch counter Pita shop has VERY FRESH ingredients everyday and is a HUGE value. I eat here often as it is close to work and while often busy at prime times, the atmosphere is friendly, fun and worth a few minutes wait. Chicken and Beef Shwarma, Falafel, Fatoush, assorted coldcut combo's, chicken and tuna salad all of which are HUGE and range from $5-$7 it's a bargain. Yes I am giving this place a rave review as everytime I go here I am treated first class, as a person and as a friend, which is not what you get at the fast food dumps our society has sprung up at every major intersection and who are only interested in Corporate profits. Final thing - If you like Hot sauce try theirs, but be warned it's VERY hot. Cheers.

It's true! We do love them!

A great place to try if you're looking for something quick and on the healthier side of fast food.

Ryan is the founder of the business, which he runs with family and friends. We got to meet Riott, his son, who had a love for skulls and all Halloween decorations at this eatery. This place specializes in sandwiches. Many of their meats are slow-cooked for ten hours. Sauces, soups, and slaw are homemade. We ordered many items off the menu and had what we liked: - Jalapeno and house slaws - Chickpea and ham soup - Roasted garlic and tomato soup - The Brooklyn (Italian) - Hot corned beef - Montreal smoked meat - Slicey's chopped chicken - Chicken club wrap I started with the hot corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was generous and so flavourful. The rye bread held all that tender corned beef together, along with the best grainy mustard aioli. I am a soup girl. I enjoyed the roasted garlic and tomato soup. It had the perfect amount of garlic with tomatoes, along with onions and spices. It was a comforting, smooth soup. The chickpea and ham soup was excellent. It had nice cubes of ham with chickpeas. It was so hearty and delicious. I also love slaw. The jalapeno and house slaws were crunchy. The former was creamy with a touch of heat. The latter was vinegar-based. You get the best of both slaw dressing worlds! I then had the Montreal smoked meat. It was full of the most tender smoked meat on rye bread with mustard. So good! I'm not sure how I managed to down Slicey's chopped chicken sandwich. It was so good that I did! It had slow-cooked chicken that was chopped with tomato, and red onion. It included the jalapeno slaw, along with white cheddar. It was messy to eat, but so worth it. The flavours were outstanding. This business supports other local businesses. The bread comes from a local bakery. It also features Purple Tongue hot sauces. Staff are super friendly and kind. They can craft a sandwich to your liking if you go with The Riott. There were two separate washroom stalls. I used one of them before I left this eatery. It was clean. No complaints. It's a comfortable place to hang out with friends over good food and drinks. I ended up having a Diet Coke and Crush cream soda during the two hours that we were here. They were cold and refreshing. It's street parking for three hours. It's free, which is nice. Alternatively, there is a parking lot across from this eatery. I look forward to returning for more good eats and soup. It's a gem of a sandwich place that happens to have awesome soups and slaw. (391)

The husband and wife team were working away behind the counter and young Ryan was spending time with his family and his toys; Genuine wholesome service. I spoke with the owners and they shared that they always enjoyed supporting local sandwich shops, but after their favorites closed they decided to open their own. I love that . Bread is fresh daily from a local bakery. Depeding on the day they can sell out of items but that just speaks to popularity and freshness. We ordered a bunch of different items and split them all. Sandwiches are loaded with bright, fresh toppings. I also LOVE that they support local and even have my FAVORITE hotsauce in store. Purple tongue. I highly recommend adding the cilantro lime to any sandwich. It compliments them so well. The Brooklyn (Italian) Hot Corned Beef Montreal Smoked Meat Slicey's Chopped Chicken Chicken Club Wrap Jalapeno & House Slaw Chickpea and Ham Soup Megan's Roasted Garlic Tomato Soup The Italian was definitely a favorite and the Slicey's Chopped Chicken was so incredibly tender. The tomato soup was quite flavorful and another fan favorite for our group. There's lots to see in this area, so we even went for a stroll after our amazing luncheon .
