Oaxaca bowl is the best, and I highly recommend adding steak. My second go-to is the bamboo bowl with chicken. My friend said the Cobb burrito has great sauce as well. Their foods taste healthy but not bland because of their sauces. 1 star off because it is pricey. For the same price of around $15 you can get a huge box of takeout elsewhere in the area.

    A freshly opened bowl.

Go to another Freshii. Frequent Freshii customer. Bought 4 bowls and they all looked like this -- basically, about a 1/4 of the bowl.

I still come here when I want to buy my lunch. I was always buying a custom bowl until I asked the manager if I could modify the Pesto bowl. He said I could so I added some things to that & took others away. That priced out much better than the custom bowl I used to get. I have always gotten good service here and no problems with the food. Proportions have always been good when I buy something here.

Great place for healthy vegan, vegetarian and non vegetarian eats. I've had the teryaki twist and the Pangoa bowls both made vegan. I actually really like the sauces they use in the bowls but the rest is pretty unexciting, good but definitely something I could make at home. They have a variety if soups, wraps, and salads as well. The sauce on the Pangoa is a sweet BBQ and really elevated the whole dish which looks like nothing special until the flavourful sauce hits your taste buds. If it wasn't for the delicious sauces on the bowls I would be going elsewhere... They are really that good. They use biodegradable containers (minus the plastic lid) which is great. The prices are decent and They have a daily $5 meal special which makes me want to eat here regularly. My only complaint is the bowls are a little boring in terms of visual appear and they are a little skimpy on the toppings. Lots of rice but little of everything else. Also, I find their website extremely annoying to navigate and find contact numbers. I also wish they were open a little later. I'll definitely be back.

They put chicken in my vegan Buddha satay for the second time. I really can't understand. And it's very disgusting.

A totally unexpected surprise…read more We were hankering for meatless/less heavy, and stumbled upon this charming Vietnamese restaurant. A tiny, family business who provide a quiet, serene and pleasant dining experience. NO MUSIC. BONUS! Spouse had the "bun bo Hue" and myself the "crab and fish maw". Hubby said that the taste and texture of the seitan (glutens) were on point. The "fish maw" in my crab soup had a perfect fish maw texture! We polished both off our dishes in record time and felt good about what we ate. I'm not a vegan but sometimes you just want something light and sustaining. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The owners/staff are nice to their customers.

It felt a bit cramped, and with everyone turning to look at us, it was a little awkward- definitely one of those we just walked into the wrong party moments. Once we got seated, we were handed menus with numbers and asked to write down the codes for what we wanted. I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered the spicy tofu and spring rolls as appetizers, while the rest of the group ordered a variety of noodle dishes. One by one, the dishes started arriving, and I have to say, the portions were generous and everything I tasted was really flavorful. But then I kept waiting for my food, and by the time everyone else was nearly done eating, the server came over to say they had run out of crispy tofu. On top of that, we had ordered two spring rolls and only received one, even though we clearly marked "x2" on the sheet. At that point, it didn't make sense to order something else and wait another 20 minutes to eat alone, so I just ordered a spring roll and rice chicken roll to go. Overall, the noodle dishes were delicious and definitely something I'd come back for. But the restaurant could really use some improvements in organization, space management, and order accuracy.

Comforting Korean soft tofu stew any day…read more Buk Chang Dong is still the most popular spot in the city for Korean spicy tofu stew. It's dotted all over the city, with a popular following. My better half for one can't resist going when we are in the mood for Korean food. Especially when we encounter cool weather, as was the case during a stormy downpour outside. There are rear parking spots and it's possible to walk through the back door though staff frowned at us going through this while a group did the same later. The menu is still simple: a small selection of Korean spicy tofu stews along with dishes like Bibimbap that pale in comparison. We always order #1 & #3. Soon Tofu ($17.50) with beef, mussel, shrimp for me; kimchi, beef, pork for her. Following the individually-portioned banchan, boiling red cauldrons loaded with silky tofu arrived hot out the kitchen and we quickly cracked an egg in to cook raw. Soup broth was rich savoury seasoning plus adjustable heat. Unfortunately the Bibimbap ($19.50) only came in one level of spice in the sauce, which was a level of heat that was too spicy for our child to enjoy. We noticed the prices were raised recently. The purple rice bottom accompanying the Soon Tofu makes for a good after-meal rice soup for which I enjoy having with the refillable banchan. Do as the locals do, and we always see this restaurant packed with Koreans. They also offer a 5% cash discount at the front counter. Skip it or hit it? Hit it for a warm Korean meal especially on a cold day.

The vibe feels like a mid to upscale Canadian restaurant, with low, atmospheric lighting, candle-lit tables (though ours wasn't lit for whatever reason), and good music. Food tastes great! No complaints there; my entire party enjoyed their meals and drinks. Although they said the bellini was a bit too sweet. Service was very subpar. Although all the employees are kind, they are much too busy running around and helping other customers to provide each table with great service. It took forever to catch our server's attention. We were celebrating a birthday and asked our server for the complimentary birthday treat (which was some sort of crème brûlée dessert) and after we did, it took very long for it to be brought out and we went over our 2 hour time limit. We thought she might've forgotten. As well, when we asked for our parking validation, our server walked away with our tickets without letting us know they'd be brought back by another employee. I really don't think the price of the meal justifies the mediocre service, but happy hour might be better? The underground parking is also a turnoff - pretty confusing trying to find it and navigate inside. Overall not a great experience coming here, but it wasn't the worst time.

The worst part of my experience was ordering. I wanted a set menu item, but I wanted to change my base from rice to noodles. If they told me that was not allowed, I would have been confused, but I would understand. Instead I was left feeling like it was weird for me even to ask and I felt awkward. The food was ok. They gave a good amount of meatballs which I was happy with. The basil chicken flavor was decent. But the satisfaction I got compared to what I paid left my wanting more. The food also took 20 minutes to be prepared which seemed like a bit too long. Overall, maybe if I wanted something to take out and eat at the park across the street, I would consider coming here. But there are too many better options nearby for me to return to sit down and eat.

Konjiki is good, far from great, but very solid. The broth has the right consistency with a satisfying richness, falling just a touch short of the deep, creamy intensity I personally look for. The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining just the right amount of bite. Nothing ruins a bowl of ramen faster than overcooked noodles. The soft-boiled egg was equally well executed, with a perfectly jammy center, and the chashu had excellent flavor and texture. My biggest criticism isn't what's missing....it's what's added. Like many ramen shops outside Japan, Konjiki includes pickled ginger, pickled takana, and braised bamboo shoots. For me, none of them improve the bowl. In fact, I think they distract from what should be the star of the show: the broth. In hindsight, I could have easily asked for them to be left out, but I've never really understood why they're included in the first place.
