I got to meet celebrity chef, Vikram Vij, the icon of Indian cuisine in Canada and the person behind this menu. I've watched him on The Food Network for years so this was a treat. He was so humble and engaging, interacting with all the guests. Of course, I had to have a frankie. I chose their Sauteed Portobello Mushroom Frankie, a vegetarian option served on paratha (flatbread). There were also options to have it in a bowl with rice, or with salad. It was delicious! One friend had the Bombay Roadside Sandwich with Paneer, another vegetarian option. made with cucumbers, tomatoes, paneer cheese, and more. Others had a variety of bowls, pakoras, and samosa chaat. He was very disappointed in his meal and said if he was new to the cuisine, this visit would have turned him off Indian food completely. As a foodie I know places can have good and bad days.
