Why all the hype over panera bread? It's overrated in my opinion. I had the chipotle chicken and avacado melt sandwhich, with the broccoli and cheddar soup in the bread bowl. The sandwhich was alright, nothing special, but I really liked the bread? Lol That bread would go nice with a chicken or eggplant parmesan sandwhich with marinara sauce, but they don't have that. The broccoli and cheddar soup was alright, but I felt like because I got it in a bread bowl, there wasn't enough soup. They don't scoop enough of the bread out when making the bowl. I ordered this BBQ CHICKEN MAC N CHEESE (see picture), and I was gravely disappointed. The cheese tasted like snot, the BBQ sauce tasted cheap & processed and the chicken tasted off. The brownie I ordered was so stale, I couldn't even cut it apart. It was also very unpleasant. The service was great & the food got there quickly, but the food was a disaster. My wife just came in around 11am to pick up her order where she was not greeted at all. She came in confused with no instructions from the staff as to what to do or even a hello , can I help you? She was picking up her order and asked if the bag on the counter was for her. The staff at the front , a bigger lady said so? Did you even look at it ? That's not how you treat people and if that's how you guys do your business we will be taking it elsewhere. The Soup is always good at Panera. The sandwiches are inconsistent. Their choice of type of bread is suspect. It doesn't adequately hold the content of the sandwich. Often crumbling apart. Today I asked for the bread to be toasted. It arrived untoasted. No big deal, I sent it back. It arrives and there was no difference. The bread was still soft. So I sent it back. It arrives again, and they said it was double toasted but the bread was still soft and there was no browning. I asked them to quadruple toast it. It finally arrived toasted properly. Seriously? They are suppose to specialize in sandwich making. Two stars because the Soup was good and the Decaf coffee was not bad too. And there was seating available. read more

Came to this location on Thursday right at lunch time. When I walked in, there was no line but a number of people at tables having food/coffee. The cashier was super pleasant and I was through to the pickup window in no time. Everyone who worked here actually seemed to really be enjoying themselves! The pickup window is tucked towards the back, felt a little small and if it were busy, it could be VERY crowded. But a manager greeted me on his way by and the ladies behind the counter making my food were very pleasant. If you dine in, they'll bring your food right to the table - its a nice thing when you're eating "fast food". I got the you pick two, which I think is one of the better deals on the menu. I got a really nice fresh garden salad with balsamic and the half avocado bacon turkey sandwich and an unsweetened flavored lemonade as my drink. Every combo gets you the option of: a baguette, apple or chips. I always get the kettle cooked chips, they're a tasty snack for later! I didn't feel guilty after eating this meal, it didn't sit heavy in my stomach and all of the components were super fresh and tasty. The only thing I might do differently is change the bread so its toasted or grilled. Not only would it hold the sandwich better together, it would add some much needed crunch to the sandwich. Panera bread is fresh food made to order, so don't expect to be paying $5 for a combo here. A drink, side salad and sandwich were in the range of $15 - pretty standard fare for lunch, especially when I'm downtown. Sign up for their rewards card, you'll get a free pastry during the month/week of your birthday and they run promos throughout the year - you don't have to do ANYTHING to get these promos. You don't even have to carry the card, they always look me up via my phone number. You get what you pay for - if you want to spend $6 on lunch, go to McDonalds. You'll feel crappy later because its crappy food. This is healthy, fresh food for an appropriate price! read more

Love this place, delicious pastries and baked goods and the salads are amazing. It is nice that you can make a variety of combo options depending on what you feel like having, excellent if you're indecisive.. just have a bit of this and a bit of that! It's nice that you can get healthy food fast but it does come with a big price. $8 for a half Riley club sandwich seems like too much to me. The last time I went for lunch I had a summer salad topped with avocado, corn chip pieces and chicken. The chicken was of terrible quality. I spoke with a staff member and she immediately knew I was going to complain about the chicken. She said the supplier had changed and they too weren't happy with the chicken they were now receiving. She gave me a gift card for the cost of the meal ($15), for which I was very grateful but I do not feel they should be serving questionable meat like that of which i had in my salad. Decided to try out Panera bread for the first time tonight with my girlfriend. Very nice place, very welcoming. The food though was not what I expected. I got the chicken Caesar salad with a side baguette and a lemonade to drink. ($13) The lemonade was great but I think the salad could have been better. The chicken was very cold and the baguette that was given was Hard and cold I couldn't even bite into it. My girlfriend got the steak and cheese sandwich ($14) and she didn't like it at all. Bread was rock hard and it didn't have much cheese on it either. I may go back just to try out the pastries at least and see if they make up for the bad food. read more

I wouldnt bother going to this location if you want to be served promptly. The staff is slow, service time is long and to be frank I dont think they changed their cleaning cloths because it smelled of dank old towels that needed to be laundered. Panera you should retrain this staff or expect others like me, to step on over to Second Cup whos staff are swift and the environment is clean, fresh and has pleanty more to offer. read more

I have been here several times over the last couple of weeks and it is has quickly become my new favourite place to eat breakfast/lunch. Between my husband and I we have tried several different items on the menu and all of them have been fantastic. The cashier gave me a rewards card on my first visit and when I signed up online later that day I received a free drink (coffee, tea or soda) everyday for a month. I will say they are a tad expensive but no more so than Starbucks and the quality is far better and everything tastes fresh. read more

I am wondering if my earlier, disappointed review was removed. The situation was certainly not redressed in anyway, and after the first customer service person "hung up on me" the second and third call were not returned. The food is NOT fast, nor correct, nor packaged in a way that makes sense. I went to this location in late January, ordered 5 items, and was handed, unwrapped a can of lemonade, a bun, and a cookie, so between holding those items, two small children and their art projects from nearby art classes, it was challenging to carry out my order. I actually said, when our name was called, could the server confirm that there were 5 items in the bag as I was not easily able to do it (put the unwrapped items on the crowded bench?) and she assured me there was. I arrived home to less than half of our order and a hungry spouse returning from the ajax airport. totally disappointing and their only suggestion (before hanging up) was I return (25 minutes in the car) to get a refund.
