You get selection of bread, spread, protein,and 2 additional toppings. Each additional topping after this is a whopping $1.50. And the toppings are skimpy and very limited. The salads are where they really fail. They give an extremely low amount of greens to start off. This is surprising considering it's the cheapest item they put in it. You can then select from a long range of items to put in your salad - but be careful - instead of a fixed price, it's by weight. Most salads end up costing $10 and they are NOT filling. The Good: 1. Taste. Everything is fresh and delicious (especially for the sandwich). 2. Bread. The bread is fresh from Ace Bakery. Need I say more? The Bad: 1. Overpriced. The items, especially the salad, are high in price for what you are getting. 2. Tiny. This location is the tiniest hole in the wall I've ever been to! 3. Debit/Credit. There is a tip option on the debit credit machine which makes for an awkward interaction when you don't feel a tip is warranted. My total came to almost $6 ($5.95?) so I thought, ok paying $6 for a breakfast style bagel, it should be good. But it wasn't at all. It was soggy even though the bagel itself was toasted and the bacon was over cooked and hard. *Keep in mind, this bagel at full price is actually $8.99+ tax (see below in my next paragraph for details why).* So for $10.16 after tax, I had expected a much better quality. I could've had a better breakfast bagel at McDonald's or Tim Hortons for half or even 1/3 the price. On another note, the horrible customer service I received was from the lady who served me at cash. After a gentleman made my order, I told him that it should have came with cheese and egg which he missed adding it in. The lady jumped in and said that I didn't order that even though I confirmed my order with her when paying. Then she insisted that I pay an extra $3+ tax for the egg since apparently what I wanted is actually $8.99+ tax. I told her exactly what I wanted in the beginning and even confirmed with her a second time when paying. She was also the one who made the suggestion... so I don't understand how she kept fighting that I needed to pay $3+ tax extra and how she kept saying that I was in the wrong. If you're working in a customer service environment, making them feel like they're in the wrong even though they weren't, isn't professional at all and will lose customers like me.

Unfortunately, their blackboard only featured one soup on it - a tomato soup, which I'm not a fan of tomato-based soups... the server then says, "Wait, let me check if we're completely out of our other soup." And she goes immediately behind the counter to check. But alas, she comes back and says, "It's not enough to fill a cup for you - sorry!" I smile, thanked her for checking, and started heading out the door. But the manager (and likely, owner?) who had been close by, turns to me and says, "Wait! You can have it. We'll give it to you for free." This kindly, older gentleman starts heading back to the counter, before I could respond. Caught off guard, I asked, "Are you sure?" "Yes, just wait." He personally scoops up all possible remnants of the sold-out soup. And comes around the counter, and hands me the take-out cup, with crackers and spoon. He smiled at me and said - with complete genuine care, "You deserve it." I so was surprised, and touched by the gesture. I just kept saying thank you as I walked out the door. If you're in the area, check out this place - for good food, and even BETTER customer service. PS. I never even thought of asking what flavour their other soup was! When I got back to the office, I opened the lid to find my favourite soup: squash. PPS. The cup of soup was nearly full to the brim! PPPS. I know this is different from my usual reviews - but this experience warmed my heart so much - I just had to share! All their food I've had there is very good, including soup, sandwiches, pizza and salad. Costs are average, but portions are large and quality well worth it.

You might want to talk to your purveyor or perhaps isn't the coffee but the way you have adjusted your coffee machines i.e. grind, amount and heat.

Both times, I was on my way back from Circle K in Scarborough. I frequent this particular Circle K location because it has hot drinks and hot dogs. It's the closest store from my home that offers these items. One evening, while heading home and figuring out what I wanted to get for dinner, Mr Sub came to mind. I did a search and found this location, which is on Markham Road, just south of McNicoll Avenue. Both times, I headed northbound on Markham Road. It was straightforward to find the left turn lane to enter the plaza. There is a gas station near this Mr Sub. It seems perfect to eat and get gas... haha! I got a prime spot during my first visit, steps away from the entrance. It was much later in the evening during my second visit, so I parked further away. There were U-Haul vans there. I'm thinking that the gas station handles those rentals. What stands out are the staff members. They were nice and extremely communicative during my visits. I've ordered the assorted and meatball footlong subs here. The former brings back childhood memories, except that I had half of a footlong back then. I was such a huge fan of cold meat sandwiches as a kid. The assorted sub was a fancier version that I still love today. The ingredients were fresh in both subs. For my meatball sub, I went weird and got lettuce. It kind of threw the woman off a bit. She basically said that she'd add the lettuce at the end. She was more concerned about keeping the lettuce shreds crisp than putting it on the bottom before adding the meatballs and smothering the sauce over the lettuce. I appreciated her attention to detail. It was rather messy having the lettuce almost as a garnish on top of the meatballs. I ended up moving the lettuce to be less of a slob eating my sub. It worked out nicely. The meatballs were yummy, especially with the sauce. I also got mushrooms, cheese, and green peppers. I could have done without the lettuce. It's fun experimenting and having a sub made the way you'd like. There is a tip jar. I used it the first time and the man was thankful. I didn't have any change on my recent visit. Otherwise, I would have tipped again. I paid both times with a debit card. There is no prompt to tip. I had no issues with the payment machine. I know of at least three Mr Sub locations in Markham.
