This is our 4th time trying this eating establishment and, unfortunately, I was again extremely disappointed. Arrived and after a 10 minute wait to order (2 p.m. on a Wednesday) a young man who was "picking his nose" on the way to the cash registered helped us. My wife wanted a small sandwich and desired a small salad and chocolate croissant. The young man tried to be helpful and suggested my wife order the half sandwich and salad which would save her some money. We paid, seated ourselves and in a short while the server shows up with a half sandwich but no salad. We asked if she had forgotten the salad and croissant to which she looked at our receipt and said she would get the croissant but the receipt didn't show we had paid for a salad. I explained what the person who took our order stated he was going to do in order to save us a little money. To which I responded, please just go take care of the issue. She left and returned with the croissant but again stated that we hadn't paid for a salad. Again, I asked her to simply go take care of it so I could eat with my wife; she went away again and came back to tell us that a Manager was going to come talk with us. In a while, a lady came by and simply stated that we didn't pay for a separate salad (approx. a $4 item) so she was unable to help us. When I stated what happened during placing our order she, in so many words said "too bad." I raised my voice a bit and informed her that was unacceptable to me and by this time my wife has finished her sandwich. The Manager stormed off and came back with my small salad and slammed it on the table and stormed off again; btw, never in all this activity did anyone have the customer service skills to extend a simple apology. This is the third time I've gone through the drive through asking for a BLT with no mayo and got mayo in it. Today, I was already irritated by the one who tended to me by the area where we pay and pick up our order because the girl didn't greet me, didn't repeat my order to make sure it's correct, and didn't give me my lemonade and I had to go back just to get it. The receipt today, however, does say no mayo, so why does it have mayo anyway? It's getting incredibly frustrating how many times I've gotten my order wrong when they get everything else right. Today my infant son started crying and wouldn't stop. I finally put him in the car and decided I needed to drive without a lot of traffic lights so we hit the highway to Menifee. He fell asleep and I realized I hadn't had lunch yet, so I pulled off to Panera. What a blissful experience from the moment I arrived. Calming. Helpful staff. The cheerful manager helped me order, made me laugh and set up MyPanera card. Food brought to the table, and I could have stayed for hours just finally feeling relaxed. My salad was simply delicious. We had a Panera frequent diner card. Do they ever wonder why I haven't been there in over a year? First, they did away with my favorite Asian chicken salad. I'm a fan of Panera Bread as I suspect most of you are. Being a sandwich guy, I have sampled almost all of their sandwiches/paninis. Just a few suggestions: the "Steak & White Cheddar On French Baguette" is amazing, as is the Asiago Roast Beef and the Sierra Turkey. I'm also a fan of their brewed coffee. Not to mention the items in their bakery. There's plenty to discover. For example, today I tried something different - the "Pick 2" special, where you can get a half-salad paired with a half-sandwich (or a soup). I picked the French Onion soup along with a Thai Chicken salad. It was very good! If you sign up for their rewards card thing, you'll get a free pastry on your birthday - you don't have to go on your birthday, you can go anytime after (my birthday was in March and I just picked up my free pastry a few days ago). WTF....let just start there! I am completely baffled by a 5 star review for this particular location. It was the worst in every way and they need to be accountable and make improvements. Here was the scenario: 1.)Walked in at 12:20PM on a Wednesday. There was a big line of cars going through the drive- thru but the restaurant was about half full. I order a hot sandwich & drink @ exactly 12:30 PM & 20 seconds. This was after being behind two morons without manners that were farting, and making comments about me looking at the hand held menu instead of the one up on the wall. (not Panera's fault but these two lard butts had a bunch of nerve given their appearance) 2. Looking for a place to sit was eventful. At least half the tables had dirty dishes, dirty napkins not to mention the floor!! OMG....the floor was disgusting as there were pieces of old bread, silverware food etc... all over the floor! Food on chairs and if the dishes were gone it was clear most of the tables had NOT been wiped.It isn't even 1PM or the end of lunch!! I move dirty dishes and sit down hoping on an extra napkin to wipe the table off when my food comes!! I get ice tea and begin the wait. 3. There is one girl at the counter who is taking the orders off the counter and bringing them to the customers. She is VERY SLOW and I am watching her move food that was done before OTHER FOOD ALREADY SITTING ON THE COUNTER FOR SOME TIME to the front and LEAVING the other food. It is now 12:45PM and I have been waiting for 15 minutes. That is okay I tell myself & I figure what...maybe 5 more minutes....right??? I see my sandwich, she picks up my receipt, touches the top of my sandwich, licks her fingers and puts the receipt back on top AS SHE PUSHES my sandwich off to the side and takes out FRESH food that has just come up!!! 4. Now 12:53 PM and I see people that CLEARLY came in after me getting their food! MORE dirty dishes from patrons that have left moved around and stacked YES stacked on tables. I see the two morons stuffing their faces & half way through their lunch. I look and see the girl go back and forth to the counter and IGNORE the sandwich which has now been sitting on the counter for 14 minutes!! She goes to the counter AGAIN, picks up the receipt and puts it back on top, then takes out other food!! 5. NOW 12:59 and I ask for a manager! While I am waiting I walk to the counter and see my COLD sandwich just sitting there. Manager comes out and of course I get the big apologies. I tell her I want my money back please. Shes says okay and then tells me how she is going to give me a sandwich to go to compensate. I say okay. 6. Had the NERVE to take the sandwich that had been sitting there and put it under the Pannini maker and squished it under the heat and wrapped it up!! LOL... NEVER again will I come to this location. Filthy and unorganized beyond belief. FYI...tasted the sandwich and NOT good. The sandwich was mediocre at best and clearly NOT worth the money. Corporate needs to take a look at this location. And WTF...THAT parking lot. What moron designed that! LMAO...cars all backed up going through the drive-thru into the parking lot which serves BOTH Panera AND In & Out Burger, lol...what a mess. They cannot handle the volume and need a better trained staff as well as someone to CLEAN UP THE TABLES!!! read more

This was my first time at this location and I was terribly disappointed as I walked in. An elderly couple (one in a wheelchair) were approaching the door. The employees had no customers at counter and they just watched them approach the door without any one offering to assist them. Of course, I open both doors for them but I was shocked to see this. Even more shocked when I approached the register Edna, was very unwelcoming. I like to think I'm a sweet women and have a nice approachable face people would like to smile to... I feel the need to update this review. I'm dropping a star after several visits to this new location. The samples that were there in the beginning? Gone. No more samples, so there went that excitement. While I still like Panera and I'm still going to be stopping at this one often, here are some issues I've encountered since the opening. First, the parking and entry is weird. There is no sort of PATH to get to the entrance. You either have to walk across the drive through lane (which so far has been okay since not busy) or weave between parked cars at the curb. it's just strange because most restaurants have some sort of approach or walkway to their front door. Then, this is so weird, in the morning they never have the lemon bin out at the drink station, so if you want Lemon for your tea you have to ask for it. If you ask for it they give you skinny little slices, so be sure to say lemon WEDGES. Have you ever tried to squeeze a thin lemon slice?? It doesn't work. Today I asked why they don't provide lemon wedges for the drinks (their is a slot for the bin, but nothing in it) and the girl actually said, the person who puts out the lemon wedges doesn't get in that early. WTH??? Seriously? ONE person has that job and they don't come in the morning. Oooookay. One day I was TOTALLY bummed because they were out of the four cheese souffles, which is what I really wanted, and it was going to take 15 minutes before the next batch was ready, so I tried an egg and cheese sandwich that ended up being good, but by the time the sandwich was made and all the messing around trying to put lemon in my tea, I was there so long that I could have just got the souffle! It seems like every time I am there, it takes forever to get my food, my drink, my lemon and get out. UGH. I do like the new tropical iced tea, though. Okay, whining aside, the staff is friendly and polite, even if they can't put lemon wedges out and I do love the food. UPDATE a month later: So, visited again and a person with "manager" on their name tag came out on the floor to make some iced tea since there wasn't any when I went to get my tea at 7:30am and I asked what was up with things not being ready in the morning. Never any lemon - I told her I was told the person who puts out the lemon doesn't come in that eary, now no tea, rarely are the souffles ready when I come in, etc. This person said to me, get this, "we're still a new store. We come in at 5 to get things ready for the drive through because no one comes in the store until 7 and we're still learning what needs to be done." Not an "I'm sorry". No kind of response demonstrating a desire to make things better, just an excuse that they're "new" I know it's a new store, but you'd think that in two months, someone could be assigned to throw some lemons out at the drink bar and make some tea! The chick at the cash register kept repeating about being so behind because it was busy.....it was 830pm and it was surprisingly dead. I love the Fuji Apple chicken salad here! It's really amazing. And the bread, oh the bread! It's sinfully delicious! You have to at least nibble on the bread & don't forget you can ask for wheat bread too. This location is an A+ location! The employees here are SO sweet. Once, I ordered a panini... Now, I don't eat cheese so they made me one without. But it wasn't appetizing to me because apparently there's supposed to be a lot of cheese and I was basically eating a bread sandwich with a few pieces of spinach and peppers. They saw that I wasn't enjoying this at all and asked me what I would enjoy. I was given instead, a small Fuji salad. That is SO sweet and great customer service. I live down the street and always visit this shopping center. Panera has really grown on me lately, the food is always great and you can't beat the "Cinnamon Crunch Bagel or Scone" *insert drooling face here*. I have been turning my back on the starbucks around the corner since it is always crowded and there is never any place to sit. So I've been coming here instead and I'm loving it, at night it's always slow and I can get a booth to myself with free Wi-Fi. I have been to this location several times, mainly in the drive thru and once to sit inside. I have never had to wait too long and my order is always complete and accurate. I usually get the same thing for myself and my family - mac and cheese, roasted turkey avocado BLT, french onion soup, broccoli cheddar bread bowl and the chicken tortellini. Never had a complaint with the food. It's on the pricier side of fast food so we limit how often we visit. We would definitely visit more often if it were lower in price. For a family of 6, it can get expensive. So we do use it as more of a special occasion or treat lunch/dinner. read more

It's so tacky and insulting to be asked to pay 50 cents (after purchase) for jelly for my croissant, isn't that a related condiment? Surprised the butter was free.
