Cozy and nice coffee and tea place close to grocery store in Markham Downtown. The soup is so fresh and ready to serve. The only complaint I have is that the condiment area cleanliness can be improved. This is worth your money. I love their seasonal items such as soup, bagel and sandwich. They are so fresh and healthy. I highly recommend to join the reward program if you are frequent Panera fan

    Broccoli Cheddar soup with baguette

Soo unimpressed! Tried to be healthy after the gym today so thought I'd hit up Panera for the first time. I ordered the pick 2 which included 1/2 a Frontega chicken panini and a cup of the broccoli cheddar soup and baguette for $12 The chicken in the panini was absolutely disgusting! Very very dry and rubbery. Completely uneatable that I had to take all the chicken out and just ate the bread. The soup on the other hand was much better. Very thick and flavourful, although the baguette that came with it was a little too hard. After having a bad experience I contacted Panera using the online chat and they said the franchise team would contact me. Not sure where the issue will go from there, but overall, after having such a bad experience I definitely WOULD NOT RETURN.

Finally a Panera Bread opens in Markham., and welcome to the neighborhood! On Grand Opening Day, energy buzzing in the air. Staffs are just so excited to serve all these exciting customers that dropping by to have their first taste of the baked good, sandwiches and soup they offers. Huge seating area, tons of outlets and free WIFI! Now this maybe the location I will drop by often to chill! PS lunch hour rush is crazy during the opening week... line all the way out to the door!

By far one of my favourite places to eat lunch! Whether I'm in Markham or in Aurora, I always seem to gravitate toward Panera. The dessert lunches are delicious but the bagels are even better. On Tuesdays, they do Baker's Dozen and you can get 13 bagels for the price of 12. While it's not a huge special promo, an extra bagel is always a good idea. They're cream cheese is also very good. My lunch go-to is usually the pick 2! You can choose two items on the menu for a cheaper price. The Mac & Cheese and a soup are my usuals but I'm really loving the summer corn chowder right now. In the winter, I'm about the broccoli and cheese soup! Also the steak sandwich is another great choice! Whether you're eating in or taking it to go, this is a great spot to grab a delicious and healthy lunch, dinner or breakfast! It's pricier than Tim's or McD but sometimes you just gotta treat yo self!

Had the half sandwich soup and coffee today, while I do find the meals to be on the pricier side, the food is always fresh and delicious. I was here studying on a Sunday afternoon - definitely not the best time to head there if you're looking for quiet as it was packed. The good: - Unlike other establishments, plenty of tables for seating and also tons of outlets, so totally understand why folks come and study here! - Food tastes fresh - Fresh baked breads and good for purchase - In a great plaza, lots of great shops nearby The bad: - Pricey for what it is - Sometimes can take a while for your food to arrive - Coffee was a bit on the burnt side - Can be very very crowded and noisey - Students tend to hog the larger tables, booths Not a go-to for me, but definitely an option if I am around the neighborhood.

This unionville location is great, clean, great service, chill crowd and friendly staff. Got our meal quick and food was fresh as always. Love the little pager they give you so they know where your sitting and they bring the food right to you.

Chipotle Chicken Panini, an apple, and a Large Light Roast Coffee.

The highlight of my visit was the Chipotle Chicken Panini I ordered. It tasted really amazing and everything inside the panini worked well together. There was an option to get certain food items on the side such as an apple or chips, I got an apple but it was a sad-looking apple (maybe because it was completely non-GMO and organic). Also, I got a Light Roast coffee which tasted alright, nothing unique about it. Basically, you pour yourself your own coffee; Dark Roast, Light Roast, Decaf, Hazelnut are the options and then add in your basic sugar, cream, etc. The Chipotle Chicken Panini was leaning a bit on the hot side and I was thirsty so I ordered the Low-Fat Mango Smoothie. It tasted pretty fresh but the time it took for it to come seemed oddly long. Upon ordering, you will receive a table tracker from the cashier which allows someone to bring you your food, a nice addition in my opinion. Wi-fi is free yet it seemed pretty slow. I came in the morning and it was not as busy as I expected, the ambience was calming enough to enjoy my meal. Overall, my meal was leaning on the pricey side so I won't come here often. Although, if I do, I will consider the Chipotle Chicken Panini because that was delicious. P.S. ask the cashier for a My Panera Card because you'll be able to get a free pastry upon signing up and various rewards from accumulating purchases.

My go-to place when I need comfort food or a place to relax on the weekend for lunch. Atmosphere, service, location 3.5/5 The place is big and generally has seats to relax. The only annoying thing is when people talk loudly on their phones or webcams. The service is alright, I usually clean up my own plates after eating. There is ample parking in the plaza. The one thing that really annoys me is I've experienced three times where the utensils they give me are really dirty and they dont seem to clean the spoons and forks properly. Really disgusting but it hasn't happened the last few times I've been to Panera Bread. Food 4/5 You get what you paid for at a decent price. This is comfort food, not restaurant food. They've recently changed the menu since it's switch from the summer to fall season. I always enjoyed their summer corn chowder soup. The mac and cheese is usually sufficient cheesy. Sometimes though the cheese is all liquid, which is disappointing. I always order their hazelnut coffee (weird how they got rid of small size cups). Their bear claws are alright. For sides I order their chips, which are sufficiently salty. Their bbq chicken flatbread is decent. It reminds me of eating a taco. Their bbq chicken mac and cheese is no good though in my opinion. The sweet of the bbq sauce mixed with the cheese is upsetting to the stomach and a weird combination. I treat Panera Bread as an upgraded fast food restaurant with good seating and cozy atmosphere. Overall this location isn't as bad as the one at Shops of Don Mills since that location has pastries that are half the size of this location.

Super thirsty after drinking the soup. :( Sandwich is average. U have choice of a bag of chip or an apple for the side. They ran out of white cheddar that day so they gave us swiss cheese instead for the steak & white cheddar panini. They also ran out of some kind of pepper for our chipotle chicken avocado melt.

Yummmy broccoli cheddar soup with shortbread and iced greentea that comes with a free bag of kettle chips ;) ! All for $9

I can't believe that panera bread gave me a bad experience!!! For a while I have been buying lunch from panera bread and ever since yesterday night I am not going to be back ! I went to grab dinner around 9 an hour before closing on a Friday. I walked inside and they seem to be getting ready to close, I asked the cashier which pasta would have tomato sauce and she insisted that the pesto pasta would have tomato sauce , and I thought that was slightly odd because I mean it's named pesto for a reason.. I even asked a couple of times if she was SURE it has tomato sauce. She said "YES!!! Red sauce as in TOMATO sauce !! " so I believed her ... And I also ordered some flatbread that came with the pick 2,I asked for only the BBQ flatbread to be toasted but guess what ?? They toasted the wrong flat bread. Plus the flat bread was still cold!!!! So.. Little did I know, being told by the cashier the pasta was made with tomato sauce. I was so surprised when I got home nearly wanted to go back to panera bread and yell at her for giving me the wrong info!! Once I opened the pasta container I was devastated about the amount they gave for the price I paid!!!!!! Not only did it come in small portion, it looked terrible and tasted cold and oiled out... I also got a soft roll (type of bun) that comes with it and man oh man .. How could they not give you butter !!!! I mean they gave me a knife and fork but for what reason would I need a butter knife without the butter ....... I literally paid $27 for this crappy dinner where as I could've eaten somewhere even better.. You know what, maybe it's because it's almost time to close at 10pm!!! But cmon ...this is not how it's supposed to be !!!

Along with an overall rating, each spot gets scored on redeemability (how easy it is to claim) and actual value. Jersey Mike's Redeemability: 5/5 (requires sign-up up for the news letter) Actual value: 10/5 (A WHOLE SET OF ONE REGULAR SIZE FREE SUB (ANY) and a drink!) WOW! Aside from the fact that Jersey Mike gives out the BEST BIRTHDAY FREEBIES out of all the cafes and restaurants (with absolutely no convoluted process to redeem - the staff were extremely nice and friendly), the sub itself was freaking amazing. I got the big kahuna - the beef was freshly grilled with LOTS OF white American cheese that melts all over, and the delicious grilled vegetables on top. I swear to god, this was perhaps just as good as the Philly steak sandwich I had in Philly if not better (as a birthday present). The store was as also super clean albeit extremely popular, with freshly cut meat and cheese served in an efficient speed. Tho I got a free combo, I also saw that the sandwiches were very reasonably priced - the quality and the price were unbeatable and I'll def come back often. I'd say jersey Mike's is my FAV sub restaurant now, far surpass subway but also firehouse sub which I often found overpriced. Highly, highly recommended.

A couple of Saturdays ago, I had the weirdest veal cutlet sandwich that I have ever consumed. This experience made me crave real veal in a yummy sandwich with marinara sauce. My usual go-to veal sandwich place is California Sandwiches. I have the option of hitting Ajax, Vaughan, or Toronto to get my fix. I need at least half an hour to get to any of these locations. I found East Street Sandwiches on Ritual. My eyes zoned into the veal sandwich immediately. I added mushrooms to it, which is my usual way that I like it. I saw arancini on the menu. The last time I had some was last year and it was horrible. The rice was so hard that I peeled it off as if it were the shell of a hard-boiled egg. The filling wasn't anything to write home about. I ordered the meat and peas arancino here, hoping that it wouldn't suck. I had plans to hit Richmond Hill last Wednesday anyway. It was perfect to grab some takeout for dinner before heading home. The eatery is tucked away in a small plaza with Fat Bastard and a few other places. There were guys cleaning the parking lot, so half the spaces were taken. I waited for two cars to leave this parking lot so I could park. One got out quickly. The person in other one looked so confused and was so inexperienced as a driver that I had to wait until this person got her act together. I then backed into a spot and headed inside. The most comforting detail that I saw on the window was that this place has been kicking around since 1978. If a place has been in business for that long, the food must be great. I headed inside. I was greeted by Bruce Springsteen on the wall. It was cool. An older gentleman was behind the counter. He was so nice. I indicated that I had a Ritual order. He handed me a paper bag with my items with both hands. I thanked him. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was pleased to see a human being. I looked so forward to eating my food, wished him a great evening, and headed back to my car. I had one other errand to run. After I was done, I headed home to chow down. I had my veal sandwich first. Delicious! The veal as lightly breaded and had marinara sauce. I tend to like lots of sauce. This place doesn't smother the veal with tons of it. At first, I was concerned. However, the marinara sauce was so bright and flavourful that having less of it actually works perfectly. It was the first time eating a veal sandwich neatly. The bun was perfect. I normally look like a kid eating it without a bib. Not here. Yum! The meat and peas arancino was fantastic. The rice was lightly sticky and so good. I normally don't go crazy over rice, but I loved it so much. It's a decent size. The filling was yummy. The only negative that I can think of was that I did not see any peas. Maybe they were pureed? I couldn't tell. It wasn't horrible, as the flavourful meat filling made up for not seeing any peas. I am no longer afraid to get bad arancini now that I have found this place. Such a gem in Richmond Hill! It's much closer to get my veal sandwich fix here. Huge fan! I'll be back for more sandwiches and arancini. (353)
