We placed an order for our staff lunch at 11 am for an 11:45 pick up. When we arrived the order wasn't ready so we ran an errand came back and we're told that the order was up next. 45 minutes later we watched as order after order printed from the cue while we stood waiting. Finally after talking to the manager, we were told that when you place an order greater than $60, it gets printed in the back so they don't see it right away. This is not a review of Panera's staff; they were friendly. However their system is broken and if there was ever an incentive to support local, small businesses, this was the little push I needed. I visit this location (and others) frequently, the staff is very helpful and the food is always the best. I will not lie, I love to order from the Kiosks so I don't feel embarrassed when I add on a bunch of extra items, did you know that you can add all kinds of extra (sometimes free) ingredients to your sandwich when you customize it? They can do that for you at the counter as well but you have to know what to ask for, whereas on the kiosk you can see images of everything you're allowed to add. Once in a great while, there might be an issue with the food but every single time I bring it to the attention of the cooks, it is re-made or re-done, I am not picky at all so it takes a lot for something to be done wrong. I have never ever had a problem with them that can't be fixed right away. If you ever have a problem with your order let them know, they would rather make it right than have you upset. Everyone here works very hard and it shows, they take pride in their work and I am very happy to have this location in Lodi. read more

I really like the layout and feel of a Panera restaurant. I love the cozy seating options, I love the fireplace going on a cold day, and I love that you can cozy up with a book or laptop without feeling like you're sitting in a cafeteria. The food at Panera is pretty good. The soups are usually a safe bet, the sandwiches are fresh, and the paninis are tasty. At my last visit I tried the Chipotle Chicken panini and the cream of chicken and wild rice soup. I'll start with the Chipotle Chicken. It was suggested to me to skip the French bread that the sandwich usually comes on and to order it on the focaccia bread instead. What a great suggestion! The sandwich had sliced chicken, cheddar, bacon, tomato, and a chipotle spread, then it was grilled to perfection. Served hot, the focaccia was crispy and the cheese was stringy and delicious. The soup was good. Not great, but good. It was extremely thick. Like, stand a spoon up in it thick. I like a smooth, creamy soup but it just seemed like this one had way too much thickening agent added. The flavor was good but the thickness was a turn off. I resisted the temptation of the pastry counter. The cookies and muffins looked and smelled delicious, maybe I'll indulge at my next visit. read more

The night time crew at this location needs a serious course in customer service. Three times ago, my wife, newborn, and I get there 45 minutes before they close. They tried to tell us that our order would be put in to go containers even though we were dining in. This is just being lazy and taking shortcuts. We were able to have our food put in actual plates and bowls, but this shouldn't be something a customer should ever have to be told when a place is still open for 45 minutes. Two times ago, the girl taking our food treated us like an inconvenience and had no smile or personality. Now on to tonight. I order food for my wife and I, get the receipt, and go wait for my food to be ready. As I am waiting, I realize that they girl put in a cup of broccoli cheddar soup instead of a bowl. I told the girls making the food and at first they were ok with it. A couple minutes later, the "team lead" tried to tell me I had to go back in line, get a refund, and purchase the bowl for their mistake. I told her that I worked at Panera for 5+ years and would never make a customer go back for a refund for a mistake on Panera's end. A cup to a bowl is a tiny increase in food to make the customer happy and the order right. Finally the rude manger came out would not give me a bowl unless I did a refund. As mentioned before, I worked at Panera as a associate trainer making food for many years. One of the main mottos of the company is "NO SHORTCUTS!", but shortcuts is all I continue to get when I spend my hard earned money here. It is sad what customer service has come to. I order two Chiptole Chicken Avocado Melts as part of the Pick Two offerings. The soup and mac n cheese came out hot and solid tasting. The issue was with the Melts. They typically freeze or refrigerate the chicken before heating up via a hot press machine. Neither of the melts were fully heated and both had cold insides. I had a glob of meat that was almost still completely frozen. The cheese wasn't melted and at best the melt was luke warm on the outsides. Refrigerator cold in the middle was horrible, and I'm willing to wait for quality food. In the interest of speed it seems like they are taking short cuts. This will be one of FOUR ACCOUNTS that I will use to leave a review including on Yelp(one for every person that I know that is upset with this establishment) this message is more like public service announcement so I'm doing a huge favor to the community by exposing poor practices and service. Managers SHOULD be paying more attention to what type of work ethic the staff has because I have been ordering from here AT LEAST once a week for the past 4 months and 80% of the time I missing something from my order, like straws, condiments that are paid for with the meal, or just completely forgot to make my online order. To top it off it's the disgusting attitude from the morning staff that has made this place lose me and many of my friends as customers, sucks more because we all always tip so good way to ruin that for your work force. You could argue that it's hard to find a good morning people that care about their job, just be a better manager with better skills so that you can hire the right people. Apparently they don't want phone orders since it rang over 10 times and simply hung up. This was repeated two more times. I ordered online and went in to pick up my order. I forgot my receipt and went right back in to get it. I went to counter and the girl, her name was Jasmine, who helped me was there so i asked Jasmine if I could get a copy of my receipt. Jasmine went over to the TRASH CAN and took my receipt out of the TRASH and tried to hand it to me!! There was brown stuff smeared all over the bottom of it!! I asked Jasmine if she just really tried to hand me a receipt from the trash and she huffed and rolled her eyes and without washing her hands went over to the back register and printed me a clean receipt. I asked for her manager who it turned out was the person who was standing at the other register watching it all. The manager apologized after I told her I thought it was disgusting that a place serving food would dig in the trash and try to hand a customer something dirty out of the trash and then proceed to walk off and keep working without washing their hands. I am so frustrated. I filled out a large order on the Panera app. When I went to finish it said none of my selections were available. I called the store and it said to press 4 to order from thexm store. A nice girl answered but she said they don't take orders over the phone. Finally I went in to place my order. On October 1, 2020 my co workers and I ordered a Bagel Pack. My co worker ordered a cinnamon crunch bagel which she said was hard. We called the Panera in Lodi and they were generous enough to provide us with a replacement bagel pack on a future date. On October 15, 2020 we ordered our free bagel pack and my co worker took a bite of her bagel and noticed there was a piece of metal embedded in it. We called the Panera again and they agreed to give us another free bagel pack. When I went to pick up the free bagel pack, they also remade our coffee order which I thought was extremely nice, until the server rudely said to me "here you go, the only reason we made the coffees was for the inconvenience." November 19, 2020, we called to order another bagel pack for pickup on November 20, 2020 and we spoke to the manager who was extremely rude and accusatory saying that this is the third time we've given you free bagels and this will need to be addressed with corporate. Although she did agree to provide us with 6 free bagels as compensation. Although she did this she was still extremely rude with her accusations. She continued to say she doesn't understand why the bagels were hard on the first order as they are baked fresh every morning. I explained to her that we were told it had to do with the proofing process and something had gone wrong. I continued to tell her we still have the piece of metal we found in the bagel and her response was "well, we haven't had complaints from any other customers." A simple apology would've been fine but the fact that they were all but flat out accusing us of lying just to get free bagels is not ok, especially when Panera is the one in the wrong. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service and the rudeness of management and the employees. When my co worker, who had the bagel with the metal in it, called the Lodi store manager, the manager kept implying we were lying just to get free bagels and was even ruder to my co worker than she was to me. I JUST BECAME A FAN OF PANERA BREAD IN THE LAST MONTH. My first experience in Lodi was so pleasant that I figured I would give it a try in Stockton. THAT WAS A MISTAKE! (see link at the end of this review.) So I have returned to verify that the experience I had at the Lodi location was not an aberration. Boy am I happy to find that my salad oasis experience wasn't a dream. (cue Barry White's "Never, Never gonna give Ya up!") ;-) The salad was absolutely perfect. Using the app I was able to customize it and pick it up when I was ready. Since my experience at the Stockton location included over-ripe mushy fruit, I was concerned but I am happy to report it was in fact just that experience at the Stockton location. The Poppyseed salad was a great mixture of everything I like about eating a huge salad as a meal. This is especially important if you are watching your diet. A large salad helped change the alarm chime of a commercial vehicle backing up in my head into the sensuous sounds of a Barry White song playing on a white sandy beach in Barbados. (cue Barry White's "You're The First, The Last, My Everything!") I would try Stockton again, but after you customize a large salad that cost you more than 13$ I am not really into waiting for a restaurant to short change me with bad quality ingredients to keep their overhead down. Fool me once, shame on you... The staff was friendly and accommodating. They even invested some time into investigating which of their baked goods were ok for those of us allergic to dairy. I would much rather drive the extra mileage and get reliably fresh food than save some gas and time and find myself disgusted and unsatisfied after paying my hard-earned money on what's presumably a "healthier," option in the take out food world. So while I am not pleased with the Stockton location, Lodi's location still kept me positive (and a bit silly) when reviewing. I have never dealt with so much unprofessional people in my life. Isabella has no customer service skills. I bought a Gift card & gave it away as a gift. To my surprise the gift card was never loaded with the funds that was suppose to be the gift card. I called corporate this morning & was on hold for 3 hours hopefully to find a solution to my situation. I finally hung up since I have to work etc. called Panera in Lodi back again & was told GM will call back in 2 days. I have a receipt that card was purchased & Ofelia (name on receipt) never loaded the card. This is the 2nd bad situation I've had at this location! I'm beyond angry! Solid place to grab a bite in Lodi (and to stop to let the doggie out if you are road-tripping through the area). After living on the east coast, the hubby and I had been to a few Panera's in our day and while its not gourmet- glamous, its good, healthy, fresh and fast. And by fresh, I mean fresh baked goods EVERY day. I don't think they know about the underground economics of day-old baked goods because on our last trip through (right at closing time), the manager informed us that we'd have to choose the baked goods quickly because the food bank was there to pick it all up. Seems that Panera actually acts on the thing called community spirit and donates all un-sold baked goods at the end of the night to local food-banks and churches. For that alone, I would stop here and give them my business. Oh and the friendly management, clean restaurant (outdoor seating is great) and bathrooms, and tasty sandwiches help too! read more

ANSWER YOUR PHONE! You should always answer the phone, even if you are very busy. You can always let the customer know that the wait will be longer... just don't ignore us! A customer should at least be able to get someone on the phone during business hours. The short version: It is a super clean Panera bread company and it is HUGE on the inside. The basics: I seem to default to Panera for a quick bite since I find myself writing another review for another location. I can say without question this has easily been the best Panera I have been to yet. It is super clean and very well maintained. It actually looks like a new location, but I have no idea. I was served very quickly and I had food moments after getting my drink. There was a nice fire roaring in a center fireplace that I sat by and enjoyed my lunch. I don't have many reasons to be in Lodi, but I'll come back here for lunch if it happens again. What works: Consistency in service and food. Large location with lots of seating What to improve: Maybe a tad bit more space between between the seats so you are not booty bumping as you pass though the place. read more

This location is great! Has so many places to sit. I frequent here to get my school work done, have a great lunch or dinner and use their free wifi. I highly highly recommend the Mediterranean Salmon Salad. Did I mention that I highly recommend it? It is to die for! So many flavors and so yum! The staff at this location is great. Customer service is always up to par. They keep the facility clean at all times. Even when it is busy. Love the ease of ordering from my phone then picking it up. However, there is routinely something wrong with the rapid pickup order. Sides are left out or sandwich is missing altogether, today instead of a kids turkey sandwich got a ham sandwich. I have learned to check that everything is in there now but I didn't think to open up the sandwiches to make sure that's correct. I guess it is what it is when you want it quick. read more

The food is absolutely AMAZING and so fresh. The employees are so nice, quick, and they offer you the good deals on the goodies. I like the buzzer idea when you are waiting for your food (seems more professional to me). Also, there is plenty seating room when it is busy and there are places to sit outside if preferred. The only thing is, the prices are HIGH. It costs me $12 for one lunch special and a drink or $24 for two of us to eat. For that price, they should bring it to your table and have waitresses so we can TIP on top of it. Fast food, with a high price. Definitely worth going sometimes though. And if you are dieting, they have all the calories and it is a great place to get fresh UNfried food. read more
