    French Onion Soup
    Kerry K.

I was craving a French onion soup so after doing some research I was surprised to see Panera had it. This is not your typical French onion soup with the top covered with cheese. It just had shredded cheese sprinkled in the middle of the bowl. And they had small croutons (like for salads) so it didn't have that bread yumminess. If you are craving French onion soup...find someplace else. Of course I've had plenty of good food at Panera just not this.

Had another craving for sandwiches again. Since I was in the area I decided to stop by. Been loving their toasted Italiano sandwich. I was going to try something else but got this sandwich again. It's so good! Service here was quick and friendly.

Mac and cheese, very little and pricey

Took my grandson and he ordered Mac and cheese, I ordered soup and sandwich, we had two small drinks and two half off pastries. The bill was a whopping $33 and change for very little. I had forgotten how expensive it is here. The portion of Mac and cheese was tiny plus a piece of bread. Everything was tasty, but way too much for too little. The staff was friendly.

In the past, this Panera is a one of a handful of places I would choose for a meeting with a friend or colleague because it had a nice seating area, away from the food and typically uncrowded which made for a comfortable place to conversate with the option of a light meal. Unfortunately since COVID began and there has been no inside dining anywhere, I had all but forgotten about it. Luckily my husband stopped in to grab us a nice brunch the other day and I was reminded what a nice spot it is to have around. Last week we grabbed a half dozen pastries and some sandwiches and chips and had a nice little picnic. The selection was good, the business was clean and distancing and the staff were nice enough to answer all our questions. We ordered 2 muffins, 2 scones and 2 croissants and that cost us around $20. While the croissants and scones were hit and miss, the muffins were delicious and I would highly recommend them. We had blueberry and cranberry orange and they were sweet, moist and delicious throughout. There were no vegan options and the only vegetarian options for me was either a grilled cheese sandwich or a Mediterranean Vegetarian. I chose the Mediterranean and the price was a very reasonable $7 while my my husband got a turkey bacon avocado sandwich for close to $12. When we opened the bag, the smell of the Mediterranean was overwhelming (as is too be expected) but we found that the flavor and value were exceptional. My husband actually opted to feed the second half of his sandwich to our pup and steal the second half of mine :) We will definitely be back for the muffins and perhaps a veggie sandwich or two as I was glad for the reminder of this little spot I hope you are too. Happy eating!

The amount of turkey is definitely not what you see in their photos. First time in there was someone in front of me and it seemed to take quite a while to get their order and then mine made, but this last time I was the only one there, and it was made so quick I don't even know how they managed it. So service definitely varies from person to person. The quality of the meat is definitely better than the deli at one of the local grocery stores, as is the bread. But the same 6" sandwich there is $8.99, whereas here it's $12. I'm not entirely sure if the price difference justifies the minor upgrades, especially since the meat used is available in grocery stores, not some high end or gourmet kind. I don't know how chains get away with serving deli meat brands that anybody can buy at just about any grocery store. Update: after several hours of horrible gas, I had to run to the porcelain throne to deliver the runs. I think something wasn't too fresh.

Not very exciting for non-meat eaters, but if done right the Sammies are decent. No frills sure, and a kinda not great app. Calling might be better in future, but I haven't tried it. Stay away from the "avocado spread." It's a weird guacamole spread that hasn't been avocado in a long time. It tastes sour. Blech. Provolone cheese is good, but the cheddar tastes artificial. Other produce is fresh and the bread is good. In a town where a lot of the sandwich shops go with bakery bread, the ones who don't stand out. And that's fine. Jimmy's bread is okay. They have an option to scoop out part of the bread. Or you can go breadless. The crunchy onions are a fun, weird addition. Many things named for Sir Lord Jimmy Crystal here. Jimmy chips are yummy. I like the bbq and vinegar Jimmy chips best. Jimmy peppers are medium spicy. They will also give you an entire big dill if you ask. You are a big dill. You deserve it. I like to see a quality pickle. Usually we do take out lunch here, and it's a gamble that the order will be correct. Still, sometimes I crave a Jimmy sub what can I say. With some improvements like fresh avo, vegan protein, attention to detail with fulfilling orders etc etc I would be by more often. Can't speak much to the ambiance, though this may be the only dual drive thru I've been thru. Jimmy shares one with the bank next door.

First, I don't come to Lodi that much, only if I have business to take care of and in this case it was at every drivers' favorite place--DMV. After completing I was seriously hungry and while I was waiting for my number to get called, I started looking for a place for a good sandwich and ran up on this place. I never heard of West Coast Sourdough, I have been to the Sourdough Company in Stockton once and I enjoyed it!!! So going back to this place I read a review from a couple who came here and the husband was just raving about his bbq brisket sandwich. I had to try because anybody who knows me knows I love brisket. Well, my experience was totally different from his. I am glad I opted for the salad as my side instead of potato chips!!!! The salad was just lettuce & tomato with ranch dressing but it was good and fresh. The sandwich was dry, no condiments at all, she did ask me if I wanted lettuce but for some reason I thought it would have tomatoes on it. Nothing! My first bite was a piece of fat and I like brisket but not the fat. That had to be the worst sandwich I have ever had!!!! The sandwich combo & drink was almost $20.00. When I walked in I admired how neat & clean it was. I was the only one in there until she brought my sandwich then four more people came in. It was a very nice, hot day but too hot to sit outside and it was getting too warm inside, no air coming from the vents. I hurried along because I didn't want to break out in a sweat. I tried putting a little salt & pepper on my sandwich thinking that would help it--no!!!!! They don't have to worry about me coming back! If I am over in the new part of Lodi again I will try Nations.

Nice gals working at the register to take your order. Since it was almost Thanksgiving, I had a craving for a roasted turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. The Cranberry Express was the closest choice. I ordered it on a french roll with cream cheese, a little mayo, cranberry sauce and the turkey meat. I must say that I was disappointed with how little turkey was placed in my sandwich. Nothing what I expected. Everything was fresh, however, there could've been a bit more turkey in between the bread. I left out the lettuce and tomato only. That would've fluffed it up. For the price of $13+, and comparing it to what I saw in their menu photos, I don't think I'd return anytime soon for a sandwich (half pictured). They have a wide selection of salads, baked goods, cold beverages, bottled wine and also a butcher shop here too.
