The restaurant itself is clean, has a large deli display, and posters of all their delicious sandwiches. They also have premade salads, some desserts, and other goodies. I want to commend the employee I had tonight. I wish I had gotten her name but she was extremely kind and personable. I've had her before and she always makes for a great experience. If the business owner reads this she was working the night of 2/7/26 and is a crowd favorite! Tonight I ordered the Cape Cod sandwich and we also had the chicken and falafel wrap. The Cape Cod was delicious! Nice and crispy fish even though I brought it home. Their falafel is always moist and delicious as well. My other favorite sandwiches are the Varone and Goldfinger. What really sets them apart is their bread- always soft and very fresh tasting. Their prices are also reasonable for the amount of food you get. This is a sandwich shop Subway is jealous of! Definitely a must try.

As with any trattoria, the bread and olive oil are a must--and it was absolutely heavenly. Honestly, I could've made a meal out of just that. I ordered the chef salad, which was exactly as described: generous in size and loaded with meats and cheese. It was fresh, filling, and hit the spot. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and the space itself is bright and open--making it a really pleasant place for lunch. A great option when you want something quick but still satisfying.

It's a nice addition but I feel as though it does make the restaurant a little cramped. I stopped in last night with my partner and my dad. We had Ryan for a waiter and I think he was spread a little too thin as I had seen him behind the bar the whole night. He was by no means rude and clearly busy but it definitely seemed as though he didn't check in as much as he could have. As for the food itself it's always been nice. Not stellar and by far not my favorite Italian places but serviceable. The prices are borderline reasonable to pricey, with my meal being $25. I would say $25 is a little steep for two pieces of chicken. However, the portions are gracious enough to leave you full but not bursting and the food always does taste fresh. My Chicken Sorrentino was good but I didn't get a lot of prosciutto which was disappointing. I'll keep coming here because it's close but if you want amazing Italian food try Federal Hill in Providence.

The sandwiches, whether it be deli sandwiches or the other meat sandwiches, are awesome. The sides are pretty good as well. Their canned/jarred selection is great, the pickles are my favorite. But the best two things here are the meat selection and the dog treats (my dog loves the pig ears). I've never been disappointed with any meat/produce I've gotten from here. Great steaks with some unique cuts from time to time, chicken and ground beef are always great, and the prices are on par with supermarket meat that's full of crappy dyes. I used to stop in here 2-3 times a week as I lived right across the street. I just moved 45mins away and I try to make that drive once a week cuz that's how great this place is

I didn't get the guys name who runs it but he's super cool and chill... he def needs a food truck or to expand. Normally the mobile orders always take a while to be ready. I ordered a club supreme today and when I came to pick it up as soon as the 15 minute allocated time was up they told me they hadn't even started the order yet. I was a little taken aback but since it was a cold cuts sandwich it thankfully didn't take too long to make. The sandwich itself is always delicious if not a little messy. That's definitely my own fault but they always have a good flavor and are much better than Subway and other fast food chains. The reason for the three stars review though was that the establishment was especially dirty where they actually make the food. As I was waiting for my sandwich you could see produce, meats, and even towels all over the floor that employees would walk over on top of. I understand that the day gets busy and there isn't a lot of time to sweep. However, if the floor is that dirty it makes me wonder how the rest of the food is stored. I probably won't be eating here again which is sad because the location is so close.

We decided to check it out. From the outside, Gene's Variety is a very modest building, located a little off the beaten path. Inside, it's a welcoming neighborhood deli that also carries selected groceries, bread, pasta, and other essentials. There's also a full deli case and a great selection of made-to-order sandwiches. After some deliberation, we ordered: * The Pilgrim: Roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo * The Water Street Special: Chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts, American cheese, and lettuce (hold the tomato) You can select any bread or roll you prefer, and we chose Portuguese rolls. The chicken salad was good, although I think I'd prefer that sandwich as a wrap. The Pilgrim was outstanding. The stuffing was some of the best I've ever tasted, and I'd be happy to serve it as a side at my own Thanksgiving table. We also left with a loaf of meatball and cheese bread. We enjoyed it later at home, and it was very tasty. Gene's Variety is our new go-to spot for deli sandwiches in the Milford area!
