a sign for a shake shack

Shake Shack is an American fast casual restaurant chain based in New York City. It will soon be opening in the Garden City shopping center in Cranston, making it the second one in the Providence metro area. I have been to Shake Shack several times and it is nice their selection of items and beverages. The store will be located near the Starbuck's end of the shopping center. It started out as a hot dog cart inside Madison Square Park in 2001, and its popularity steadily grew. In 2004, it received a permit to open a permanent kiosk within the park, expanding its menu from New York-style hot dogs to one with hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and its namesake milkshakes. Since its founding, it has been one of the fastest-growing food chains, eventually becoming a public company filing for an initial public offering of stock in late 2014. Shake Shack owns and operates close to 400 locations globally.

Cheese Fries with cheese on the side, gross

I made a yelp account just to leave a review because this is just ABSURD. I ordered a coke zero, cheese fries with the cheese on the side, and a well done shack burger. The image shown was the cheese included with my meal. Also they put the disgusting toe fungus looking cheese on the top of my fries when i asked them not to. The shack burger was not well done and was pink in the middle. I had to throw out my entire meal and when i called the place, the manager was unreachable. DISGUSTING.

Burgers are great. Fast and easy ordering. A bit pricey but eh .. taste great. Very similar to Wendy's but better. Fries are always crispy

I first heard about Raising Cane's while listening to the NPR show 'How I Built This' while driving…read moreto work one Sunday morning four years ago. Cane's founder Todd Graves was a guest and his description of how he started the business and about his product was very impressive. One was built near where I live about a year and a half ago, but I never seemed to be hungry when I was driving by. Well today I was ready to eat, so I pulled in on the way home from an appointment in Boston. I should have done this a year ago! The chicken tenders were moist, tender, and had been cooked in an incredibly delicious well seasoned batter. That in itself would have satisfied me but I'd also ordered the Cane's dipping sauce. That turned my meal into a masterpiece! It blended so well with the seasoning of the chicken and batter. The two young women who served me at the counter were perfect examples of what customer service is supposed to be. They were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about their products, and patiently helpful while I was trying to decide which of the two sauces I wanted. Thank you both! The dining and ordering areas were spotlessly clean and well lit. It would be the perfect place for a family to come and have a healthy meal as a treat on a weekend afternoon. I wish that Raising Cane's had been around when I was little. :-) One word of warning however, Raising Cane's only entree is chicken fingers so if you don't like chicken this might not be for you. That does however emphasize how good those chicken fingers are if they don't have to offer any other meal. :-)

We stopped here after a trip to the mall, and just grabbed some chicken through the drive thru. It was just as fresh and hot as inside and their staff knows how to serve it up either way! This location is similar in style to the rest, clean and modern, but who is looking around with such great chicken to eat?

Raising Cane's keeps its concept incredibly simple, focusing almost entirely on chicken tenders,…read morefries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and its signature sauce. I walked into a bright, clean, and energetic restaurant with a fast-paced atmosphere that reflects how popular the chain has become. Even with a line forming at the counter, the staff kept things moving efficiently, and the operation felt well organized considering the volume of customers coming through the door. I went with one of the tender combos, which is really the reason most people come here in the first place. The chicken tenders were juicy, freshly cooked, and had a crispy coating that held up well without feeling overly heavy. The coating had a good crunch that stayed intact through the meal, and the chicken itself was moist and tender throughout. The real standout, though, is the Cane's Sauce. It adds a tangy, peppery flavor that works perfectly with the chicken and honestly ties the entire meal together. Between the tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, it is a simple meal, but one that is executed consistently well. The toast is buttery and soft, and the fries are solid enough to hold their own alongside the main event. One thing I have noticed is that the chicken can occasionally feel a little greasy depending on the visit, especially if you are ordering a larger combo. For some people that may not be an issue at all, while others might find it sits a bit heavy afterward. That has varied from visit to visit, but it is worth mentioning because the meal is definitely on the richer side compared to some other fast food chicken options. The coleslaw provides a lighter contrast, though it is a fairly standard version of the side and does not stand out the way the chicken and sauce do. The staff during my visit were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained. Food came out quickly, and despite the limited menu, there is something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing one thing rather than trying to offer dozens of different options. The simplicity of the menu makes the decision process easy, and the consistency of the meal across visits is a big part of the appeal. Raising Cane's delivers a satisfying chicken tender meal with quality chicken, a great signature sauce, and consistently solid sides. It may not be the lightest meal around, but when you are in the mood for crispy chicken tenders and a straightforward comfort-food combo, it is easy to see why so many people keep coming back. The meal is familiar, filling, and hits the right notes for what it sets out to do.

As an A Christmas Story fan I was happy to see the location decked out in themes from the movie. The restaurant itself was well done and spacious. Staff were friendly and kept the line moving quickly. One staff never even asked if our food was okay- something you don't normally see at fast food places. I ordered the three finger combo and it was excellent! Texas toast was standard but toasted well, fries were nice and crispy, and the chicken itself was slightly crunchy and very juicy. I will say that the star of the show was the Cane's sauce. It was super peppery but also had a nice flavor to it. This was coupled with a super sweet but tasty sweet tea. If you don't have students recommending this place let me be the one to do it for you!
