For me, they are best eaten with limited toppings and no sauce. I'm not a huge fan of their burger sauce but others seem to like it but if you leave the sauce you get the full flavor of the burger and seasoning. I recently had to make a visit with a group to that place where there are nearly half a dozen guys that make burgers and as a test, I tried eating it the same way I'd eat it at here and discovered there was absolutely NO flavor. The best way to find out if a place makes good burgers is to eat it plain with little to nothing on it because if they are covering it all up with add-ons, they don't have a good burger, they just have cooked meat. TKC doesn't need the sauce but it's there if you want it. Better yet, they are reasonably priced and less expensive than any other burger joint in the area. (We are talking GOOD burgers here, not the fast food chains but even then...still probably cheaper.) Second, they have a fantastic hot honey chicken sandwich that has a lot of chicken on it. It is fried perfectly and the hot honey adds just the right touch of sweet and spicy to give it a wonderful flavor. Finally, sides of onion rings and fries are all done perfectly. I think personally the onion rings have the WIN here but either way you can't go wrong. Oh, and they have ice cream! That isn't the highlight for me, but they have a decent selection of flavors and are reasonably priced. My choice is the non-dairy cookie dough and peanut butter (I think I have the flavor right) and it tastes great. This place seems to always be busy and the owner is always cheerful and friendly. Do yourself a favor and make a visit and in the process support a wonderful local business! You won't regret it. P.S. Adding this - I've taken multiple people here over the past few months and not had a single person disagree with me on how great this place is. After about 10-15 minutes of this, we complained to our server who said there wasn't anything that could be done but it should be over soon. Not long afterwards, it started to quiet down and everyone on the patio started clapping and cheering and THEN IT STARTED BACK UP. Slightly less loud, but still requiring shouting back and forth at our small table. This went on for another 30 minutes. I asked for the manager, who again said there was nothing she could do and then gave us "free drink" chips we could redeem for a free drink on another visit. We dropped over $80 for the two of us on this visit and were nearly hoarse when done talking. Then, as we are leaving, we look at the chips that we were given for our "free drink" and it's for a COFFEE on the house!! Not even a real drink. Good grief. I may have said this last time, but if at all possible, I'll never come here again. The price/atmosphere equation is radically out of balance here.

All were of decent quality, so I'd rate them an overall 4.5 out of 5, and am happy to round up due to the nice interiors, friendly service, and cool, local vibes. The egg & cheese sandwich was prepared with a tasty bread that they said was made in-house. If you find yourself in downtown Binghamton looking for a local spot that's a good alternative to chains like Panera or Starbucks, I recommend a visit to Strange Brew Cafe.

Having worked in a pizza/sub shop in South Jersey, I'm very hard to please when it comes to a good sandwich (or slice of pizza for that matter). Honestly, I couldn't have been more pleased with the visual, size, and taste! The sub was 3.5 to 4 inches tall!! I could barely fit it in my mouth (no comments on that, please). And, the gentleman that prepared it took the time to make sure the condiments cover the whole roll, not just one side. This was the best sub I've had in the state of NY. If you decide to give it a go, remember that good things come to those who wait, and, patience is a virtue, and all those other cliches. Since it is such a masterpiece, it takes a while to make.
