One of my very favourite places to stop in for lunch or an early supper (they close quite early). My favourite sandwiches are the chicken salad (sans tomatoes) on sesame semolina, and the salmon club (also sans tomatoes) on a croissant. As for soups, I love the baked potato and the slightly chunky tomato with asiago croutons. For salads, the salmon caesar is good, or the strawberry chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. I keep meaning to try their great-looking breakfast foods, but I haven't made it in during breakfast hours yet. Sometimes it's also nice just to get a grilled cheese: my fave is gouda on french bread. The new mac and cheese is tasty, but nothing to write home about. Wish they woulda baked it with some breadcrumbs on top. Maybe some of their awesome asiago ones. I should work for them and tell them all my great ideas. Okay, also, their chocolate croissant thingies are to DIE for. Omnomnom. Seriously. And I wish I could fill up a spare bedroom with their bagels (the pink ribbon ones, made with cherry chips, dried cherries, dried cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar are the best) and fresh baguettes. Some places fly just under the radar and get taken for granted. That fact was illustrated to me yesterday evening on a shopping trip to Costco when DD#2 agreed to: "let's get a bite before we go home" and asked where I'd suggest and I automatically said "how about Panera's" without any hesitation. I've probably been to Panera Bread on the average of once or twice a month for several years and never even thought to write a review. But that omission is being rectified today because in all those visits, many of them to this location, I have always been served good food, by pleasant, friendly servers in cheerful, clean surroundings. And they have good coffee, which always makes Hubby happy. At Panera the bakery crafted breads have a starring role in making the sandwiches among the best in the city. All are filled with generous amounts of meat, cheese and fresh, crunchy veggies. Soup and salad selections make good choices to pair with sandwiches and I know that many of the bakery items look so tempting in the display cases, but I seldom have room for a dessert because sandwich portions are filling. (Hubby and I have been known to get a bag of goodies to take with us) At Panera, I don't stick with only one or two favorites. I try to get something I haven't had in a while. Last night I got their Bacon Turkey Bravo on Tomato Basil bread. DD#2 had Sierra Turkey on Asiago Cheese Focaccia, dressed with chipotle mayonnaise, and we traded 1/2 sandwiches so I had twice the yummy instead of one. So don't just take Panera for granted. They will deliver good food for a value price and they deserve to be remembered when you are looking for some place good to make a quick meal. read more

My favorite!! The fast food that is not refrigerated and microwaved garbage. I am in love with the harvest squash soup and autumn salad. The blackbean soup is yummy as well as the French onion, tomato, and chicken noodle. Haven't had a soup at Panera that wasn't wonderful. The bacon turkey bravo sandwich is awesome and I usually add avocado because somehow it makes it perfect. I love having the option to make iced coffee. Sorry we are out of them. (followed by a blank stare). Me: (I am in shock, this is their signature bagel, their bread and butter!!!) Are there any baking? I will wait a few minutes... I'm not huge into Panera... but I go to them a lot because they are FAR better than fast food options. I can get a soup and salad here and stay on the friendly side of my diet. This vist I did soup and oatmeal. That was a lot... the oatmeal serving is very generous here... moreso than Starbucks. Plus... they are steel cut oats. Very good. The soup I had was a country styel mushroom truffle soup. This is likely ot be a fall winter selection and disappear at some point. It was very good and it will force me back to the tomato soup I usually get... but this is a soup I would eat again and again. I LOVE Panera Bread. This particular location is always busy and it's hard to get in/out and park. Free wi-fi, delicious food, amazing smells, tasty treats!! This carboholic chooses Panera for a spluge almost every time. Give me some asiago cheese bread or bagel -OHMY. My choice of menu items is the Asian Chicken Salad and a soughdough round. I love th dressing on their salad. I dont think I've had a sandwhich or bread that I didnt care for at Panera but I am definetly a fan of bread in general. My husband and I had quite the disappointment yesterday. I was looking forward to a Caesar salad with my pick two meal, I got ONE OUNCE OF LETTUCE. I've been ordering this same meal from various Panera Bread locations, I've never seen a salad this small. LOOK AT THE PHOTO OF MY "MEAL". We asked two different people for help, they just told us that's the way it is. The company standard is only one ounce of lettuce in a side salad. If that's true why have I ordered this same exact meal from various Panera locations that have been served the same way? Now I go to this dump and they can't even give me what I ordered. What a huge waste of time and money. No offer to actually fill the bowl or to offer another side in exchange. They just took the money and said we needed to get over it. Stopped by yesterday. Long line for drive through but decided to stay. Finally got to one car in front of us and the lady took forever at the window. She was changing the order and trying to use several cards because payment was not working. Finally she got her stuff and drove off. I was pretty pissed it took so long. Got to the window and the guy said our order was going to be free because of the wait. We got four sandwiches, two chips and two large iced coffees for free. We were so surprised and grateful. Made a large curbside pickup order at this location for a pickup time for 11:07am. All I had to do was hit I'm here for my order to come out. Did that and waited about 5 minutes before calling them. I'm still waiting and 2 other cars came up. I saw a young girl take a large order to one of the other cars. The other person went in to get their order. I waited almost 20 minutes before putting my mask on and going in. I'm waiting in line at the register and the young girl that brought out the large order came back in with it. Finally going to the register, I told the old man that I had been waiting for 20 minutes for my curbside pickup order. He went back to get the same large bag the young lady took out to the other car. AND HE DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR MY INCONVENIENCE!!! Also, for giving out my order to the wrong person was pretty unsanitary during this COVID crisis!!! The rudest workers I have experienced in years anywhere. Placed a simple order, two cinnamon crunch bagels with cream cheese. Asked for the lighter ones before the cashier went to grab them because the darker ones looked burnt and harder. She grabbed the darker ones and said she couldn't slice the lighter ones. Never asked if I wanted them sliced or even toasted. The manager witnessed this and did nothing. I then told the manager I asked for the lighter ones, she grabbed the bag out of my hand, threw it in the trash, and got my bagels. Again without asking if I wanted them sliced or toasted. When I asked for the customer service phone number she refused to give it to me and said they were a franchise and instead asked for my phone number. WTF... like I would give it to her. No apologizes and she was just as rude as cashier. Their names are Diana and Shania. After reading reviews I can see why so many one star reviews. Smallish location near the Independence Events Center, it's a favorite stop for bagel & tea on the way to an early-morning hockey game, or a soup-and-sandwich lunch afterwards. I adore Panera. Always have, always will. There are days when I would do anything for a bowl of their broccoli cheddar soup In a sour dough bread bowl or a cinnamon crunch bagel! Nomz! This location is on par with the many locations I have been too, decently clean, well stocked, well staffed. The staff here seems particularly friendly and cheerful. I also LOVE the new addition of the drive thru window. I have never seen a drive thru at a Panera and was absolutely thrilled that I didn't have to drag my kiddos out of the car to indulge in a bowl of soup at my last visit. I always have a good experience here. So many options and a variety of seasonal options. Only one time have they forgotten one of my items and they gave me a free cookie to make up for it. Good customer service for essentially a upscale fast food chain. Forgot my debit card one time and they gave me my food anyways and told me to have a blessed day. They also give to local charity organizations any of their bakery items left at the end of the day. Great company all around. read more

The food was okay. It pretty much tasted like any other typical Panera dish. Generally speaking, if you walk into any Panera you can count on receiving the same experience; however, this was not the case with this location. Upon entering there was only 3 people in front of me, but for some reason it take nearly 10 minutes. The people ringing were exceptionally slow. Additionally, after ordering it took about 10 minutes to receive my food (typically you get your food within 5 minutes). I'm not sure really what the hold up with this location is because we weren't really there at a busy time. read more

My husband and I have always eating here, but I've noticed lately the staff fact like they don't care if you're there or not. The place is showing wear and wasn't quite as clean as it use to be. I had to ask to have our wiped off, it was dirty from last customer. The young girl behind the counter didn't ask me for my Panera's card and I don't think she cared if I had one or not. I LOVE Panera! The food is so good. No matter what time of year it is, my favorite is always the broccoli cheddar soup with a side of bread. I can't even eat broccoli cheddar soup anywhere else because it will not taste as good as Panera's.Their frozen coffees are soo bad for you, but they are too good to pass up, and I don't even drink coffee. I have a couple of complaints though. The first is the parking lot, which is always crowded, no matter what time you get there. Panera is Panera- I am not going to write about the food here. What I am going to write about is the ridiculousness of this particular location. Sometimes after work, my girlfriend and I want to grab a quick salad or soup for dinner. We have come to learn after multiple trips here, we must expect something to go wrong. It's a guarantee that if you go to this location around dinner, the clueless kids that are running the place will either: A) Completely screw up your order. B) Forget to give you something that you did order. C) Tell you that, somehow, they are out of something that you ordered. Seriously- just try it if you don't believe me. Everytime we have gone there, one of these 3 things has happened- no exaggeration. Want a bread bowl for that soup? Good luck! They will either be out of bread bowls or you just won't get it with your order. Don't worry- they'll still charge you for it though. The first time this happened, we checked our bags in the car and realized they had forgotten them. "No problem" we thought. We walked back in and when we explained we had ordered bowls and they weren't in the bags, the manager just glared at us as he seemed to act like he didn't believe us that we actually ordered them and paid for the bread bowls. Sure buddy- we planned a bread bowl heist because they are so valuable. He made us feel very awkward about the situation, although ended up giving us the bowls we ordered and paid for. The next two times I had ordered soup in a bread bowl to go and they again forgot the bread bowl. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it either time until I got home. The last time I ordered it, I luckily used the drive-thru. Checked the bag as I pulled away, SURE ENOUGH- NO BREAD BOWL!! I whipped back in and was able to get one without incident (or interrogation). I understand some items are more popular then others, but literally EVERY TIME we go here, they are out of something. It either effects our order, or the people in front of us. Inevitably you will here them say "Oh we are out of that-sorry" either to you or someone around you. Just listen for it. Hell, one time we were in line and they told the person in front of us they were freaking OUT OF LETTUCE!!! WTF???? How does Panera run out of lettuce??? We now have a running joke that they are going to be out of bread once we get there. I ordered a Fuji Apple Chicken Salad last time, got home, and lo-and-behold, NO CHICKEN and NO APPLE on the salad. How do they get away with this??? The only thing that is more perplexing then these problems is why we continue to go back. I know it's funny that we continue to be shocked everytime we go there something like this happens, but you just have this notion in the back of your mind that says "Surely not this time" or "They can't possibly screw up again" or "They have to get it right once". Nope- not the case my friends. Unfortunately, it's the closest place for a decent quick salad or soup when we just want to get dinner done fast for us. Went through the drive-thru this morning to get coffee. I got such a giggle out of the fact that she asked me how much creamer I wanted. How kind is that?!?! Who even does that anymore? Then when I received my coffee, I find out that... It was FREE! Coffee on the house today. No one knows the rough start I had to my day today, before the coffee. I don't understand their consistency issues lately. The last several times I have ordered with Panera, this location specifically, my orders have been either incorrect, missing items, or like today not in the Rapid Pickup area. We ordered breakfast this morning via Rapid Pickup. Our order wasn't on the Rapid Pickup shelves but on the traditional order pickup area. Nobody asked us if we needed help and while we waited at the counter we were completely ignored. Now we have our food that is completely cold and barely edible. This location used to be my favorite and we would eat there at least three times a week. Now I think we are done. Completely unacceptable employee attitudes, lack of consistency, and quality has gone down the drain. read more

I went to this location yesterday and for some reason my credit card kept getting declined even though there was plenty of credit room left. The employee at the cash was fairly new so asked for help from her manager. Despite numerous tries they couldn't get it to work. Instead of apologizing and turning me away, they gave me a free lunch. This was before they started assembling my sandwich so there was no reason to do this besides exceptional customer service. Wow! I have never seen anything like this before. I've since checked and there was a technical problem with the credit card company and all is now ok, so I'll be going back today (their sandwiches are great btw) to try to pay for yesterday's meal and to have another great sandwich. read more
