I've worked fast food before and when we ran out of something like that, it was my job as manager to go to the grocery store and get more, and expense it. Considering this panera is in a Kroger parking lot, I'm not sure why the manager isn't stocking the store. I would understand if a grocery was far away, and it was just easier to wait till a truck the next morning, but Kroger is a matter of waking distance. I was so excited when Paneras opened this store just a couple of blocks from my house. Boy have I lost the enthusiasm!!!' I've made 3 visits in the last few weeks and am furious with service and offerings. The first order, they included the wrong soup and had just a few bagel choices. The 2nd time, they had NO BAGELS....ITS A BAKERY!! The third time they had no cheddar and broccoli soup and no bagels!! I finally gave up and went to the Regency store. This Panera used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but unfortunately the quality has gone downhill. On my most recent visit, the food was noticeably overcooked and lacked the freshness and consistency I used to expect. Portions seemed smaller, and the meal had very little substance for the price. What was once a reliable spot for a satisfying lunch now feels disappointing and not worth the cost. I ordered a chicken bagel stack through the drive thru, upon opening to eat it, there was no chicken. I went into the Panera and Megan offered to give me a refund, a new sandwich and a treat. I'm getting very disappointed with the Panera's on Staples Mill Road in Henrico. every time you go in there and order something they rip you off and give you the smallest portions I've gone through there several times since they have been in that location and the portions get smaller and smaller but the prices get higher and higher today I went to get a spinach and bacon souffle and when I got home I had the smallest tiniest piece of bacon sitting on top of a spinach souffle nothing showed bacon inside the souffle at all except for the small piece sitting on top that's a complete rip-off and false advertisement I'm going to stop going there not to mention you wait way too long in a Drive-Thru when it's only one other car in front of you! read more

I'm giving this Panera Bread location a 4 star because of my experience with their "Rapid Order" option & because they have my favorite soup on their menu. I was a little hesitant to eat here again, but when I was checking out their menu and nutrition, I found out that they were serving my favorite: Summer Corn Chowder! It's only available during the summers. So I decided to give this rapid-pick up order a shot. I use the handy dandy Yelp app to order online and get that Summer Corn Chowder to go. Of course, the order isn't complete if you don't get it in a bread bowl! To my surprise, they freaking delivered (figuratively). I live pretty close there and they got it all done in about 5-10 mins and I easily parked in the "Rapid-pick up" parking spots (aka 5 min parking) to go in, grab, and go. Super easy and made it back to work within a reasonable time. As you see in the pic, I totally place that bread bowl in my actual soup bowl at work (with the little piggy on the side). Unfortunately, there really is no purpose to the pig, but just that it's sitting peacefully on the bowl - haha. Anyways, back to the food review. Just like the first time i tried to soup, it was delicious. I love their Summer Corn Chowder in their sourbread bowl - it's just so tasteful and filling. Overall, the rapid online order is a must try (it really does work) and the summer corn chowder breadbowl. It's Panera. It's a nice, big Panera with friendly staff that has an efficiently moving line. Sufficient parking. Their coffee stays fresh. Their outdoor area is a touch smaller than other locations. If you haven't done so, try their bacon spinach soufflé for breakfast. ~$5 for 550 kcal, 20g protein, and several bites of glory. Came to this Panera for the first time for lunch with a coworker. It was not crowded when we came although it was for lunch. We must've been the first of the lunch rush. I ordered the pick two tomato soup and 4 cheese grilled cheese. The soup was okay but the grilled cheese was over cooked with burnt cheese along 3 of the 4 sides of the sandwich. I peeled the cheese off and tried to eat it but half of the sandwich was rock hard and I could not take a bite. I returned the sandwich to the manger on duty at the time. She was not pleasant and barely smiled. I almost felt bad about ordering an meal that was over cooked and asking to remake it.... When it was returned, by the same manager, she still did not smile nor make me feel welcomed. Although she did ask if it was cooked okay, at first glance it looked fine, so this is where I failed. But I can't decide if the sandwich was better or worse than the first. For a "four cheese" grilled cheese it appeared to have maybe a dash of shredded cheese on it. I will say, it was toasted to perfection. But after an encounter with the manager that made me feel as if she did not care about her customers, I was not going to complain again so So basically I ate bread with a hint of cheese and tomatoes soup. He made sure that a fresh canister of decaf was made, even stepped around the counter to warm my scone in the microwave for customer use. Seating is atrocious, parking lot is chaotic, bathrooms are big enough to have two urinals and a toilet but it only has one toilet and designed to be used unilaterally. I am a die hard Panera girl. I will eat there at least twice a week if not more. I would come to this location due to my location of work at the time and i would always use the kiosk to skip the line. I was admit on getting the Green Goddess Salad customized- everytime. I love to add EXTRA feta (Not regular, EXTRA). After I placed my order and i waited ( usually about 5 minutes of a wait) I would get my food and try to get out asap due to the lunch crowd. I would get to work and there is NO feta. Not a single drop. For those who don't know, Feta is extra money. Yes, $2 is not that big of a deal to most of you, but the way i see it is - that is money I paid to have my meal come out the way I want it. They are constantly forgetting or not adding something at this location. Very disappointed. I haven't really had any encounters with the management, but Mama Jane (I believe that's her name) keeps everyone smiling up front and Steven and the kitchen crew always have my order ready and perfect. Ordered through the app for curbside, 2 kids entrees & a Mediterranean bowl. My wife is a vegetarian so Panera usually has options. After arriving, app would not register parking space number, so I had to go in, defeating "curbside pickup." Opened bag to find one kid's order had no chips. No big deal, went back in (second trip) to get the chips. When my wife got her food, the salad had chicken & cheese on it, both of which weren't on the original order. Third trip back inside, couldn't wait for a remake as now I'd spent close to 20 minutes & had to pick up my kids, so I had to get a refund. This is a becoming a common theme with Panera. First and foremost, I am a big fan of Panera's Food. They always have fresh, natural ingredients that I cannot resist. I generally order Chicken Cobb with Avocado. However, there has now been 3 separate occasions when my order was totally inaccurate and it is always on a specific food item. Chicken Tortellini Alfredo. Who forgets to put the CHICKEN in the Chicken Tortellini Alfredo dish. This 3 times they have done this. The previous two times, I was able to go back or call to the restaurant and they add the chicken or remake the dish. However, there is nothing like the feeling of having a taste for a specific item and to have them drop the ball on several occasions. I don't write many yelp reviews but 3 strikes, you are out and I have to speak up on this issue. This most recent time, I picked up my order and took it home. I started to prepare to eat other food items, just to get a voice out the back room saying "they screwed up again". I did not feel like driving back to the store to get this corrected so I called the store and left a voice mail. I haven't heard back from them yet but I hope they give their customers better assurances that their order is accurate. I really hate having to write this review, but it must be done. I ordered half a Roast Turkey and Avocado BLT and a half Mediterranean Shrimp Couscous Salad. The wait to order wasn't long, nor was the wait for my food. That's where it all goes down hill. I brought my lunch back to the office and was immediately disappointed. I opened my sandwich and there was no avocado on it! After a few bites I realized there WAS avocado on it, but such a tiny sliver that it may as well not have been there. On to the salad. Presentation was sub-par, with all ingredients thrown in the box without a care in the world. No biggy, it's takeout, right?
