Panera is always a good choice for soup, salad and something sweet. The strawberry poppyseed summer salad is delicious. I always need extra dressing tho.

I had an app reward I wanted to use, so I stopped in here after a visit to the park with the kids. Placed my order before driving, and my food was ready before I got there. The rapid pick up orders at this location are kept behind the counter, so be sure to flag someone down when you get there to claim your order. We got home, and the food portions were alarmingly small. I don't remember them being this small when I used to frequent one of Panera's Market St SF locations, so I was pretty shocked. In any case, Panera's food does lean on the healthier side, so expect healthy (low fat/fat free/low sodium) soups and sandwiches. I would definitely come back here for a lighter lunch, but at $14+ for a you pick two (1/2 sandwich, salad, and soup), I'd consider other options.

I like Panera bread in general. However, these days I'm noticing serving portions are reduced and that makes me feel not worth the money. We tried : Asian sesame Chicken salad : Taste is good , for me it was too much dressing. May be next time I should request dressing on the side. This is very basic salad (with no fancy grains ) and for the price I wish to have more portion. Tomato Soup: This always works for me. !! Mac and cheese: This is very comforting and cozy. All goodness. Chicken BLT: Warm and filling. This place is big with plenty of seating. We ordered from Kiosk, and can easily track order from screen. There was no table service as such. Overall, Food is good but bit pricey for this self serve type of food chain restaurant.

Unpopular opinion, but Panera is delicious. I know it's overpriced, but something keeps drawing me back. I used to go to the San Jose and Cupertino locations when I lived in the South Bay. Now that I live in San Leandro, Hayward is closest to me. I hadn't been to Panera in over a year until I received an email from them with a $10 off coupon. I always do the "You Pick Two" since I like a little bit of everything. I always order the Asian sesame chicken salad. It's soooo good! Unfortunately, my salad portion at this location was so small. The whole container was not filled. For my second entree, I ordered chicken and wild rice soup. I've ordered this before, and it's usually good, but it was a very thick chowder consistency this time. There are some things to be aware of about this location. All locations I've been to you just pick up the food from the shelf for online orders. At this location, you have to ask someone, and they will get it for you behind the counter. Also they do not provide cups near the fountain drinks for water.

During our visits to various Panera Bread locations, we have noticed some changes throughout the overall process which is a mixed bag to be quite honest. During our most recent visit to the Hayward location near Southland Mall, staff are always kind, welcoming and very helpful. I've noticed the value is a hit or miss, and the wait time for our order at this location was about 15 minutes from the time we placed our order. Those that are in a hurry may find this inconvenient but again, it was during the lunch hour. Quality of the food was spot on though they no longer take certain modifications on a few entrees, possibly to keep costs down and prevent backup within the kitchen. It's always a nice vibe, the place was clean, and the restaurant was packed on arrival. I'd definitely visit again and would recommend this location.

I come to this Panera Bread about once a week since I work nearby. They claim to be one of the busiest Paneras in the Bay Area. It does get crowded during lunch or busy mornings, but service is usually quick. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I'm part of the Sip Club. You get free drinks that you can renew every couple of hours, along with regular promotions like $1 off bagels, $2 off breakfast items, or 25 percent off entrees. Great deal! Food here leans healthier. I like the cranberry walnut chicken salad sandwich and the everything bagel. Their broccoli cheddar soup with a baguette is also a favorite. The avocado toast is also tasty. Their bakery is just okay. The bagels are made in-house and are probably the best part. Other recommended bagels are the asiago cheese or cinnamon crunch. The honey walnut cream cheese is a great topping but if I'm feeling cheap one of my go-to hacks is getting a buttered bagel and adding the free honey from the coffee area. Other pastries like the kitchen sink cookie or almond croissant are just average. The pecan bread is fine but nothing special. Overall low to mid tier bakery imo. Their salads and sandwiches are solid. Prices are probably a bit higher than Subway especially when taken into account the portion size, but the food tastes better and feels healthier. They offer a good variety of coffee add-ins like almond milk, 2 percent milk, and half and half. Overall, a solid spot for a quick and healthier meal with friendly staff, lots of parking, and a relaxing outdoor space.

Walked in looked around for a Bakery display, looked like a gas station kiosk. Over priced, will not be returning.

I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Initially my first thought was "damn, they're not stingy with their portions here!" We opted for the Goku fries and a regular Deadpool sandwich. It being our first time we wanted to try different flavors. BRUH, that food smacked SO HARD! We slammed everything and kept saying, wow this is good. The ingredients were fresh, the green sauce (whatever it is) was delicious on our sandwich! We will for sure be back & tell all of our friends about this place!

We tried the Ed Edd and Eddy and the Mr. Burns. Both were really good on Dutch crunch. We also customized our sandwiches by adding pickles, banana peppers and onions. We'll be back to try their fries and other sandwiches.

Although the tofu was a little dry and lacked some flavor (had to use sriracha), the chicken banh mi was flavorful and well done, though there was quite a bit of chicken. The space is peppered with some two or three person tables as well, with a small display shelf helping to delineate where the line to the cashier starts. Regarding the viet coffee, this one was particularly strong, with a definite higher proportion of coffee to condensed milk that doesn't offend but also risks being a bit TOO strong (wild to say that when all viet coffee at its core is strong). Overall, it's conveniently located, but I think I might prefer to go further south for something with a more balanced taste profile.

But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.

Parking is always tight in this plaza, but I got lucky on a Saturday afternoon. Bara's was poppin when I walked in. Ordering is quick, the menu is extensive, but the man taking my order was so patient. I went with their Bara's combo special with all the fixin's and had to get their dutch crutch. I love that you can choose the bread, and the Bara's combo is great since you can choose your meat/proteins. Turkey and roast beef were juicy and flavorful. Plus their meats are all halal! Every single ingredient was fresh and high quality. The flavors were unmatched. And the bread was perfectly airy and crunchy, without scraping my entire roof of my mouth. It's embarassing I used to get Ike's when there's sandwich spots like Bara's. They have a whole drinks section, chips, and an open deli display case. There's tons of inside seating, great for coworkers, families, or solo dining. No outdoor seating unfortunately. Most of the waiting time is after you order, so allot a solid 15mins, even if you're just waiting for your one order. Bara's is also Palestinian-owned. We noticed two self-service ordering kiosks to the right but decided to check out the menu board and salad case first. When we were done, the cashier asked if she could take our order. That's always my preference over poking buttons on a impersonal screen. We placed our order, paid, and stood aside to wait. My name was called when our order was ready. It was bagged and ready to go. We thanked the cashier and went home. Normally, I'm not a sandwich guy. Today, after working outside in the sun, I was hungry and had a craving for something filling and cold. Macaroni Salad was on my mind. I looked that up on Yelp and Bara's was reasonably close. I also saw a Shrimp Salad that looked pretty good online. When we arrived home, I proceeded to take pictures of our meal. Sigh. Instead of Macaroni Salad, we got Potato Salad. Not quite the same. A quick peek at my receipt and I saw that the wrong key must have been pressed. I should have checked my receipt after I paid. The cashier should have repeated the order before sending it. The Potato Salad didn't satisfy my craving for Macaroni Salad, but I wasn't about to drive back to exchange it. The flavor was unique though, in that it had a cheesy flavor. The Shrimp Salad was not good. Flavor wise, it was okay with a little bit of heat. But texture wise, it was a mess. If Shrimp was supposed to be cooked for two minutes and then dropped into an ice bath, these had been cooked for four minutes and not iced. They were cooked to death. I got a Bay Area Special with Swiss. It was okay. A ton of meat, not so much on the veg. I would prefer more balance. But overall, it was pretty good. She got The Gobbler. She also felt that the meat overwhelmed the veg. Additionally, the cranberry sauce was overwhelmed by the cream cheese. We came, we saw, we ate. It'll be a long while before I go after another sandwich.
