They say that convenience comes at a cost, in my particular experience, it came with extra flavoring in the form of a fruit fly! My wife and I came in on a Monday night and noticed they had a small selection of pastries left which is expected. However, what was not expected was as we got near the display, we noticed two fruit flies were jumping from pastry to pastry and our appetite started jumping out the door with it. We approached the team member at the cash register and asked for a chocolate chip cookie towards the bottom of the pile, explaining our reasoning - no response. The moment we saw her lift the top batch, a few more fruit flies appeared, yet again, no response. For health reasons, you would assume at minimum an apology for the experience and offering a solution for the remaining batches but it was as if nothing happened. So instead of enjoying her birthday cookie right away, we ended up having to bring it home to heat it to be safe. Panera is a quintessential elevated fast food restaurant. You are able to get quick quality meals that are reliably the same every time you order at any location. I was able to add spinach, tomato and garlic aioli to my breakfast sandwich for no additional cost. The food came out great warm, however our order was incorrect (I would recommend checking you order is correct before leaving as this isn't the first time that has happened at this location). The employees worked quickly to fix the issue. We love their drinks, especially the charged lemonade! The price is a little high considering the amount and quality of the food, however they have some good rewards and deals on their app if you get that. The restaurant was clean throughout. read more

Took a chance today to order their 2 item special - have generally enjoyed their tuna sandwich + half a salad. Well, the sandwich was fine but the size of the sour dough bread they use now makes the sandwich very small compared to what was in the past. The size of the piece they cut in half to make a half sandwich was almost the size of one's palm. Unfortunately the half salad, strawberry caprese barely filled the small plastic container to half way. When you look at the whole salad on their menu it is much larger so getting a half portion lending to only 3 bites was greatly disappointing. The container was less than half full of salad - & even tho I was warned they were out of pecans, took a chance to go ahead & go with this salad - no chicken as well which I didn't want. They should clarify what half a salad means & show a picture of it for reference. What I got was barely 1/4 of a whole salad. Glad the gift coupons I have had in the past as I tried to frequent them during covid are all used which is good cause not sure when I will return. I felt like there was no sense of urgency in getting orders out, no one greeted when I came in and after waiting twenty minutes or more for my food... I had to wait even longer for my drink, only for them to make it wrong. Sandwich had very little amount of tuna with old lettuce that fell out when I picked it up. The soup was cold and tasted like a can of tomato sauce. I know Panera is a chain, but I think this location deserves some love. I had a gift card which brought me in recently. I tried the cold brew and the "kitchen sink" cookie. The cold brew: I believe they use a concentrate which I got a glob of when I sucked some down to make room for cream. Oh well. I got it unsweetened and added cream. After it was mixed well it was literally perfect. Strong and smooth. Yum yum yum. Next, the cookie. We've always loved Panera and were out doing a bit of holiday shopping. My husband and I decided to eat at this location. We ordered our food from a less than enthusiastic person at the counter. I get it--it's minimum wage, but at least be a bit friendly. We went to find a table and literally every table in the place had not been cleaned! I than began looking around at the restaurant--very dirty. I had to ask for something to clean our table, and they cleaned it for us. The food was mediocre at best and at least two of the staff members I saw coming out of the back looked extremely dirty and unkempt. No I don't expect perfection, but at least don't look like you just came off the street and are now serving food. We also didn't know our food was available at another counter as no one mentioned anything. After sitting and waiting while I kept noticing how dirty the restaurant was, we finally asked and were told our food was sitting on another counter for us.When I picked up our food I took a look in the area behind the counter and it was downright gross. I've been here a few times now for takeaway and only on a deal, to be honest. It's kind of pricy in my opinion, mostly because the sandwiches are mediocre. They always sound delicious, but seem to be lackluster. More recently I came in to try their flatbreads. Those, on the other hand, were really quite good. I was honestly surprised how big they were. The price is reasonable, but with Panera, you actually expect it to be smaller. So that was a pleasant surprise. The pizzas themselves were well put together with lots of flavor and a nice crisp crust. Those are something I would definitely recommend. I'm not sure if they've just gone downhill or if it's more of a situation where takeaway orders kind of get shafted, but the general quality is lacking these days. Had to wait for it to be done for awhile even though I got a message it was ready, then drove all the way home to see they actually gave us broccoli cheddar. I was meeting a colleague for a business breakfast and even though there are very few customers in the restaurant and quite a few employees, nobody greeted me or waited on me for at least 10 minutes. There was one woman working the order counter and she seem to be a bit overwhelmed. This location is on Clackamas Town Center, near Macy's and Noodles and Co. It has a lot of seating. Ordering is still done at the counter. When I was there in November, I really appreciated the fact that they let my husband order from the lunch menu. He has an egg allergy so being able to get a lunch sandwich was really helpful. I went there today and ordered one of my Panera favorites -- the green goddess salad. Since I am gluten free, I am limited to salads and bread bowls. I was disappointed because I felt the quality of this salad wasn't as good as the same salad when it's made at the Beaverton location. The ingredients -- particularly the avocado -- weren't ad fresh. There wasn't near as much kale. I couldn't finish the salad. I did appreciate, however, how quickly the salad was prepared. I realize that there are supply chain issues right now and that this is a tough time to be working in a restaurant. Well, disappointment would be my best description for this location. First, the best thing was the baggette with butter. Very tasty. 5 stars for that Staff gets three stars. They seemed disorganized and not very good at communicating with us or amongst themselves.
