Spicy chicken (ok but buyers remorse)
Vince S.

Every few years I get suckered into trying a Panera location. This one has been in my neighborhood for awhile and I had no interest in going. But after deferring lunch for too long and being nearby it seemed like a quick place to grab a sandwich. I had heard about their new chicken sandwich so that was what I was thinking about ordering. As I walked in there was no one at the counter taking orders, I saw a few touchscreen kiosks where you can place your order. I've used these at other restaurants, the Panera ones were a bit wonky and harder to navigate. But I was able to place my order well before any employees came to my aid. By then there were a few groups of people waiting to order in person, and an employee eventually came out. I was told to go to pick up window and my order was just being bagged, so it was pretty quick. But the bag felt light....... At $12 this was a pretty small sandwich and devoid of toppings I thought I had added. But it was decent. I got the spicy version but with light sauce. The brioche bun was good and chicken was tender but not very crispy. It came with a child portion bag of chips. I also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie as the dessert selection seemed depleted. It was ok. Nothing was bad about my meal, but also nothing to say on a positive note except that it was indeed food. The $15 spent here could have gone much further at several places very close by. I guess I'm too old to understand the appeal of this chain, but I'm pretty sure I'll get suckered into trying them again in a decade when they feature a new burger.

Brocoli Cheddar Soup & Chipotle Chicken Wrap w/ Apple Juice
Honey F.

Great place to chat & have some coffee. I came here while I waited for my car to be finished at AAA next door. The cashier was helpful at recommending popular items. Following his recommendation I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Wrap w/ Brocoli Cheddar Soup. Both were very good & well prepared. Just make sure you like it spicy if you order the chipotle chicken wrap. The seating area is quite large, and has ample seating. It was quiet with ambient music. Tables were cleaned regularly, and everything was well stocked. Overall a great experience for a small "fast food" establishment.

Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie

Order strawberry lemonade smoothie. Taste amazing and was quick to serve. Smells like weird food in here. Clean. Some outlets on the walls. Water bottle costs $2.00.

Panera Bread is a recent addition to the Rt. 33 food scene in Hamilton Square, NJ. Their Yelp page says it is in Trenton, but it is several miles outside the capital. I stopped in one morning last week after court while running errands before heading to the office. This stand alone shop has a drive thru and adequate parking right across from the equally new Super Wawa. It is still bright and attractive within, with large windows throughout. Seating is mostly deuces, with a few larger tables. The order counter is surrounded by displays of their very good and tempting bakery products, with coffee brewed and waiting across the room. Service was friendly and efficient, with interaction on a first name basis. Liked that. I ordered an everything bagel sandwich with fried egg and cheese. It was delivered to my table a few minutes later. Their coffee was average and completely self serve. I have had better bagels, as this one although loaded with the nibs and bits of sesame, onion, poppy and salt, lacked the crusty shell I prefer. It was decent, but could have been more. The sunny side up egg should have been grilled over easy to reduce the drip from the still soft yolk. Live and learn. The house was not busy, perhaps reflecting the string of poor reviews here. Yet, I found Panera pleasant for breakfast, with good service. Those there were working on laptops and having meetings. They appeared comfortable. I would return and try those awesome looking cinnamon rolls.

Came here first time for a quick bite before watching a movie. I dined in with one of my friend. The ambience is nice and very mellow. We quickly ordered our food through the self ordering tablet system and was surprised at how quickly our food was delivered to our table. Presently fast service and food was good!

During my recent visits, I noticed some inconsistencies in portion sizes. At first, I thought it might just be a one time thing, but today I had a chance to observe a few orders being prepared while waiting for my husband's smoothie. It seemed like some bowls were filled above the measuring line, while mine was slightly under. I completely understand that things can vary during busy times, but I just wanted to mention it as feedback. Consistency in portions would really help ensure all customers feel they're getting the same value. I'm sharing this with the intention of being helpful, as I do enjoy coming here and hope to continue supporting your business.

I enjoyed the vibe right away. It felt welcoming, and I could hear people around me enjoying their meals, which is always a good sign. I only ordered coffee (there's just one size option), and it was good and hot -- although my lid was cracked. They do offer either a to-go cup or a mug if you're staying, which I liked. I do wish there were a few more small Danish or pastry options to grab with a coffee. Sometimes you just want a simple little something on the side. The only thing I was curious about was the music. Worship songs were playing the entire time. I wasn't sure if the owners are religious or if the staff just didn't realize what station was on. It's definitely a bold choice and might not resonate with everyone, depending on their beliefs. That said, it didn't ruin my visit -- just something I noticed. Overall, I'd return and would be happy to stop by again for another review soon. **After posting and reading other reviews... maybe I came (in the morning) at a bad time and there weren't pastries available?

Such a unique and large space with seating on both sides (1 side is a coffee bar and the other is the kitchen). Such a great concept. Their menu has so many delicious sounding items but I decided since it was my first time to try "staples" which was a sandwich and soup combo. The cheddar broccoli soup was spectacular! The flavor and heartiness won me over. I tried the pear and gouda panini as my 1/2 sandwich which was also quite tasty. Oh and my iced raspberry cheesecake cappuccino was my favorite! Soooooo dreamy. And the customer service was great too. The cashier was super patient with me as I took forever to review the menu and decide on what I wanted. I will definitely be back even though it isn't close to my home which says something. They do not know your name or care about your childhood. I picked the Seasonal Stir-Fry, the Chesapeake Crab Stir-Fry. Egg white noodles. Crab with Old Bay seasoning. Bell peppers. Red onions. Scallions. Parsley. Seasoned breadcrumbs. Old Bay sauce. I swapped the grape tomatoes for mushrooms. I also ordered a bottle of Mexican Coke. Cane sugar as God intended. It felt almost rebellious to drink something that tasted like the 20th century. The place was nearly empty when I walked in, but within five minutes it was buzzing. Three line cooks moved like their feet were on fire. A young woman at the front kept the chaos civilized, sliding bags onto shelves and trays into hands with the calm of someone who has seen worse days. She was very good at her job. My order arrived hot enough to make my glasses fog. The crab was all body meat, none of the prized claw, but there was plenty of it. Sometimes quantity has a quality all it's own. The Old Bay gave a mild sting on the tongue and reminded me that flavor is sometimes about memory as much as ingredients. The napkins had a word search, a maze, and a spot-the-difference game on the backs. I did not touch them. I admired the idea though. It was a neat way to keep kids or bored adults occupied without wasting paper on disposable menus, flyers or tray covers. The meal and soda cost just under twenty dollars with tip. That is a little high for noodles and crab from a fast casual joint, but these are the days we are living in. All in all, I left satisfied, and asking for more than that from your lunch is just setting yourself up for disappointment. 4 stars.

The dine-in area was mostly clean, with a few tables with debris left behind that customers failed to clean up after themselves. Oddly, the lights were either off or dimmed extremely low, but the bright sunlight streaming in was more then enough to get by. I do wonder what it is like on overcast days, though? The woman who made my salad certainly wasn't particularly friendly, but she was efficient and prompt. I've seen several complaints that this location is particularly stingy with the the toppings. My Southwest Chipotle Chicken Salad wasn't overflowing with the added ingredients, but I didn't have to hunt for them either. So, all in all, I would probably expect a bit more from a $12 lunch salad, but I was overly disappointed. I went in looking for a salad that would full me up for lunch, and Saladworks provided that; nothing more, nothing less.

I felt like I was in the city with the gorgeous lighting and ambiance. My friend and I went on ladies night, where every Wednesday they have a DJ and 10% off food/drinks at the bar! We started off with 3 different apps, the zucchini fritte, the meat and cheese board for two, and the rice balls. Everything was phenomenal! The rice balls were stuffed with shredded beef instead of ground beef which I liked and the Gorgonzola cheese sauce was tangy and savory. The zucchini fritte was fried to a golden crisp and felt light and satisfying. The meat and cheese board is truly perfect for pairing with some pre-dinner drinks! Neither of us felt like drinking that night so I got the Stella Rose red berry spritz and she got the black berry spritz. These were fruity and sweet and perfect for a night out. Great alcohol free options. For dinner I got the cacio e pepe which came in a huge serving. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and I really liked how creamy and cheesy it was without feeling too heavy. My friend got the eggplant rollatini which was a humongous portion and she devoured it and still had some for leftovers. These were both great meat-free options. For dessert I had the chocolate lava cake which was rich and decadent. Perfect for sharing but mine was all for me! My friend had the creme brûlée which she indulged on without a single bite to spare! Can't forget to mention the impeccable service!
