It has been 8 years since my last review and I still go to this location. It is actually better than the one a few minutes away on rt 33. They take their time putting your hoagie together here & I find that the other locations can be sloppy. I placed my order online last night and ended up eating in the store. I heard a familiar voice behind me and realized it is the woman my previous bad review was about. 8 years later and she is still working here. She must be a very dedicated employee. This made me remember about my previous bad review of this store & I have since changed my mind. This review is only for the portabella mushroom sandwich on wheat with extra cheese. This is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten and I would never have expected such awesomeness from a sub chain. The sandwich is made up of grilled Portabella mushrooms, peppers and onions with melted Swiss cheese. I suggest getting extra cheese. According to the Jersey Mike's web site they are serving the freshest local mushrooms and I believe it. This is the official statement on their news page: "It's important to keep this fresh product locally grown, and it took time to organize mushroom growers across the country," "The mushrooms are picked, transported and delivered to our stores within days of coming from the growers." Additionally, their wheat bread is a perfect consistency with just the right amount of firmness on the outside with a melt in your mouth center that captures all the delicious flavors. I can't speak to any of the other things Jersey Mikes sells, and I doubt I will ever try them as any trip to one of their locations will be for the sole purpose of obtaining the portabella sub that I have fallen in love with. read more

Rudest service. Will never return. This location shames jersey mikes all around. They are rude to each other, screaming at each other in front of customers as well as rude to customers. I actually cannot stand this place. I order frequently and every. single. time. I go I order ahead of time via phone and when I get there 25-30 mins later it's never even started. What is the point of even calling? Went there today and was literally ignored standing at the front waiting 10 minutes to pay. This place is a disaster that's all. All of the staff are friendly and efficient. I usually call ahead and order for large groups so I've been to this location many times and everyone is always complimenting the fresh bread, toppings and protein selections. Co-worker went out to get subs for the office.. he came back with my "Turkey and American Cheese" wrap. On the wrap itself was a bunch of lettuce, American cheese, onions, and a measley wimp slice of what once was a full feathered Turkey. I'm telling ya that this ONE slice of turkey couldn't feed a chipmunk. If I gave this one slice of turkey to a bird, the bird would have to fly around to other areas in the park because it would still be hungry. Can you tell how disappointed I was? I expected something more than received from my Baja Chicken Wrap at this Jersey Mike's Subs in the Marketplace @ Hamilton. First, the menu on the wall was limited to a few sandwiches, wraps or cheesesteaks. No house made chicken salad, tuna, or the like. While there were adequate chunks of white meat chicken in the wrap, it was seriously overloaded with lettuce fill, and very little jalapeno. After opening the paper wrapping, it unfolded on the tray, and much of the filling slid out. That was caused in part by a too wet sandwich that was not able to hold together. While I appreciate that the veggies were washed before construction, they should have also been dried more before stuffing into the mix. Too, the sauce was plentiful, but thin, contributing to the flow. Messy. Hamilton has a lot of excellent submarine joints and delis that turn out quality memorable sandwiches. Frankly, Jersey Mike's is no where near their level of endeavor. And, it is more expensive than the old school shops like Little King and Classic, or even Firehouse, not to mention Circle Deli and it's siblings. Maybe I came on a bad day, or maybe this store is resting on its laurels. Not Jersey strong. Disappointing. read more

This place is staffed by the worst, most rude, least courteous people on earth. I have never ever gotten into an argument with retail staff in my life until I went here. The entire ordering process was a disaster. First we tried to add salami to a kids sandwich and were willing to pay for it. But were told "no we don't do that" not "I'm sorry sorry we can't make modifications. Or It will be an extra charge." But "no we don't do that". Then we ordered a cheese steak from the grill. The response from the associate was "well that's going to be at least 20 min because we are working with half a grill today. The other half is broken and there are already 3 orders ahead of you " with an attitude that she was upset I even bothered to order a grill item. So we changed to two different subs. While I was ordering those new subs which we decided on the fly the cashier person was asking questions about the kids meals and if we were going to order drinks and chips. Of course it was my fault I can't listen and answer two people at the same time. So I told her we want chips and a drink. This was not an option for a kids meal. So I said fine we'll get extra chips then. She apparently never heard this and walked away to do something else. This led to issues at the end of our meal. We moved to the register when everything else was complete. A different person came to finish ringing us up. We placed everything in the tray. Paid the total with a credit card and walked to our table. After setting up our food I could not find one of the kid straws. So I went up to the counter and asked if could please have another kid straw. The reply I got was "I already gave you two" and I said. "Yeah I can't find one of them" it doesn't matter why I'm asking for one. There is no posted limit on how many straws I can have and I clearly needed another. There was no reason for the attitude. But that's not even the worst. At the end of the meal. After we had already paid and eaten all of our food I went up to ask for the cookies that came with our kids meals. Which are self serve. But we were never told that. When I showed them the receipt it showed they had run us up wrong (they never included the chips we ordered and placed on our food tray and showed the cashier during payment.) I said how about you keep the cookies and we'll call it even. I walked away attempting to leave. Another associate decided this was not acceptable and called me back and told me we had to pay for the chips and was accusing me that it was my fault they were not included originally and that I owed them more money. Of course if I never showed them the receipt they wouldn't have even known. I explained everything was on our tray. We already paid. If you make an error and the transaction closes it's on you and your staff. The associate decided to argue with me and then told me and my wife who were obviously aggravated not to act in this manner in front of our children. That was the end. I left a ten dollar bill on the counter and walked out. This is the worst retail experience I have ever had. I'm sure this is an anomaly and you won't have the same experience but if there are people that work here that are capable of such a disaster in customer service you should rethink where you are spending your money. I'll be reaching out to corporate customer care and disputing the charges with my credit card company. read more

I am blown away by all the negative reviews. I've been going there for a few years and I've been there more times than I can count. I've never really looked at the meat cutter, so I'll give some of the previous reviewers benefit of the doubt. However, I've never recieved wilted lettuce/ tomatoes or hard bread and every sub that I ever ordered was loaded with meat. I think their meat quality is great and for the most part, their sandwiches look just like they do in the posters and other advertisements. My only complaint is that their prices are a little higher than most places and they could use a bigger variety of drinks and chips. read more

For starters, it was too expensive for what I received. It was $7+ for a plain wrap and I felt sliiiightly deceived since it said grilled veggies and what I got was onions and some green peppers cooked with oil on the grill and added to lettuce and tomatoes. I thought grilled veggies were more than just onions and a spoon-full of green peppers. HOWEVER, I must say, it tasted good-- I didn't feel that my money went to a horrible meal. I was full and pleased with taste and the people behind the counter. This store is such a messed up store. I walked in to get a #43 in a tub with extra meat, bacon and mike's way with no chips or drink and I paid a 10% on tip. I did not pay attention while I made the payment. The lady at the cashier gave me the receipt to sign and threw away the other receipt that got printed out in front of me and I wasn't bothered. So now I don't have a receipt. I checked my credit card being charged $18.37 the next day and I only bought 1 tub. I get the same tub at every Jersey Mikes (Kenilworth and Cherry Hill both locations the NJ) and always get charged $12.53 (8.25 for sub+$2 for extra meat+ $1.50 for bacon+tax) for it as a sub in a tub versus a giant tub. I called up two days after to find out why I was being charged so much more. The owner of the this store was very rude while I was trying to talk to him explaining my situation and try to understand what went wrong. He never let me speak and he was so loud. As an owner of any business you don't do that to any of your customers no matter what the problem is. I was in no way trying to cheat him and he said so that I was cheating him by asking for money back. I had to hung up on him as I knew that I was talking to the walls! Ordered a club supreme online. After I opened up what I thought would be a fantastic sandwich I realized there was no bacon, Mayo or oregano. It's a club sandwich, got to have bacon. This place is very discusting plain and simple . I went there 5-31-2013 I ordered a tuna sub with swiss cheese. 1st the slicer they used to cut the cheese was dirty and gross it was covered with pices of old meat and scraps of old cheese it looked like they had not cleaed it all day. Next the bread they used to make my sandwhich was out and sitting on the counter it looked old dry and stale. I complained to the person making my sandwhich a young girl who worked there she just looked at me funny and did not correct the problem. I walked out with out a sub and I did not buy the one they made for me. I have contacted the Board of Health because there hygiene practices are far below the normal standards and it unsafe to serve food in this way . I would not go there again for any reason. read more

I've eaten many Jersey Mike's subs over the years including at their original location and the Hamilton Marketplace store presses everything the way I remember it from when I was a kid.
